Rating: Summary: A good read! Review: This is a good book. Although it didn't have enough passion for me, it was a tender love story.
Rating: Summary: FATE Review: This is a warm and happy book about two people who simply enjoy one another's company. The advice given to her by friends and family alike was realistic and helpful. The character of TJ could be just about any person who has strong prejudices towards a interracial relationship. Being married to a white man myself I could relate personally to some of the situations faced by Scott and Vanessa. Only two complaints: is that a little more time could have been spent on developing Scott's background and there was no description of Vanessa wedding dress! Thanks Pamela for a wonderful read!!!
Rating: Summary: Loved it ! Review: This is the best book that I ever read. If your in a interrical relationship you would want to read this.
Rating: Summary: Five Plus! Review: This is the sweetest interracial romance that I have yet to read! You will love these two wholesome characters. Scott is an architect who happens to be white and Vanessa is a teacher who is black. Scott's wife died and left him with two small girls and Vanessa gives her widowed sister, Monica, a break by spending time with her three kids. One Saturday morning he sees her across the parking lot of a supermarket and marvels at how well she controls three small kids and he has trouble getting his kids to cooperate when he only has two. Not to mention that he notices her gorgeous shape as she gathers up her crew. Once in the market, she almost runs over him with a cart as she plays a racing game with her charges and when they lock eyes the fun begins in earnest. Both of them have wonderful extended families and their relationships are told in the story. Vanessa interacts wonderfully with Scott's daughters. You will laugh at the park scene where an old lady thinks that Scott is attacking Vanessa and starts hitting him with her umbrella so Vanessa can "get away" safely. I adored Scott's romantic gifts to her on Valentine's Day and the way he went about getting her back whe they separated. But I won't tell you any more! Buy this one and don't loan it to your friends -- tell them to get their own because it's a keeper. Oh yes, and I just ordered the new sequel.
Rating: Summary: Heart Warming Review: This was a pleasant read. I enjoyed it immensely.Keep up the great work Pam!
Rating: Summary: Only okay in my humble opinion. Review: Though I pretty much liked the book I didn't like the fact that the female lead was 'only' 23yrs old and a virgin of all things and that she and Scott (male lead) only kissed throughout the book with occasional rubbing until near the end of the book. And even when they finally made love it was summed up in a few sentences. Scott's rambunctious little girls got to me too and I felt it weighed the story down. What annoyed me was near the end when Vanessa (female lead) decided to call their upcoming wedding off because of what a co-worker of Scott's says to her and how hard Scott had to try and 'win' his lady love back.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: When I first discovered this book while walking through the library, the second I layed my hands on it I could not put it down, mostly because the auther has a way of dragging the reader in without using a whole bunch of difficult vocabulary to the point where you have to keep turning the pages back trying to figure out what you missed. At times I admit the story got a bit cheesy at certain points when Scott would say things like "Pleasure number 22,23,etc.", Okay!!!!! We get the point , your being pleasured, geesh. I like almost all the characters in the book especially Vannessa, she seemed sweet, but maybe a little too sweet, I mean........come on, I could not remember no part in the book where she got mad and aggressive, not that I'm complaining, because I can't stand main female characters that are bitches, but then again there are times when you cant let people step all over you. I like Scott alot, he's not even real, and I found my african american but blushing everytime he said something sweet. As for his kids, I found them kind of distracting and annoying, and it seemed like they stepped all over Scott, like he was some babysitter, he didnt have no discipline whatsoever with those kids. I find reading interacial romances very interesting, and until I read this book, I didnt know it was such a big deal to date someone the opposite race of you. Scott was a very good sport throughout the whole book whenever someone would say something negative about his relationship with Vanessa. As for Vanessa I thought she was really dumb and dramatic at the end when Scotts co-worker said something bad about her relationship with Scott and for that she broke off the wedding, Come one, are you serious? Th ebooks love scene was terrible, I found the make out scenes between the two of them more sexy and spicy, Over all, the book was good, I read it in two days, if I didnt have to work I probaly would have finished it in one.
