Rating: Summary: Funny! Review: I finished this book last night and I am still chuckling this morning. This is a really fun book. Kenny is a golfer who is having a little bad luck in his career. To get back into the "swing" of things, so to speak, Kenny has agreed to act as tour guide for Lady Emma. Emma is an English headmistress of an all girls school in London. It took me about 2-3 chapters before I really started to get into this romance, but when things take off, they really go. The love scenes were hot and the romance was sweet. Not only were the H/H fun to watch, but the secondary characters were great too. Just when I thought I had seen everything, Kenny/Emma would say or DO something so outrageous, that I just had to crack up! The dialogue caught me by surprise so many times, that I have go back and read it again to see if I missed anything.
Rating: Summary: Funniest, sexiest, most romantic book ever written! Review: After reading (on audio from the library) Dream a Little Dream (my 1st by SEP)& thoroughly enjoying it, I thought I'd give Lady Be Good a try (also on audio). It was so gooodd! What really made it extra good was the way the characters voices were done by the reader -the Texas drawl & the British accent. The girls in my carpool enjoyed it so much. We laughed til we cried and oohed and awed through the whole book - 3 times. We listened to it 3 X's. Almost had to pull off the road once because the driver was laughing so hard. The way SEP describes the scenes you can feel yourself right there. Her descriptions are so vivid. I loved it so much I'm going to buy the audio book to keep forever. I'll be able to listen to it anytime I feel like I need a pick-me-up.Better than Prozac. A must read or listen (audio)!
Rating: Summary: OK! Review: I have to hand it to Susan Phillips she has some imagination. I liked this book because it was so off the wall strange but funny. If you would see Kenny and Emma eating at a restaurant you would be like "how different can two people be". However it really seems to work.
Rating: Summary: Not her best, but still pretty dang good. Review: Susan Elizabeth Phillips is known for her combination of humor and romance, and this book doesn't disappoint. I laughed so hard that I cried during the first 100 pages. This is the story of Lady Emma Wells-Finch, the very proper headmistress of a girl's school in England. She is visiting Texas to do some research on a book, and decides that this is the perfect opportunity to ruin her spotless reputation (something that is necessary to save the school for reasons that are rather implausible). Her friend Francesa Beaudine has persuaded Kenny Travers, a star golf pro currently banned from the PGA tour, to act as her chauffer and guide. Kenny is drop dead gorgeous (think Pierce Bronson) and has a quirky sense of humor. He plays on the fact that Emma has no idea who is and actually persuades her that his escort services are comprehensive - for a fee. Emma seizes the opportunity to play the bad girl and hires him for the night. Up until this point, the book is absolutely hilarious. While it remains funny (Kenny's sister is particularly amusing), it then takes a more serious turn as Emma travels to Kenny's home and helps him struggle with the ghosts from his past. This is where I had a little trouble with the narrative. Kenny is supposedly a decent, hardworking man who encourages everyone that he is an obnoxious oaf. Huh? Believe it or not, Phillips almost makes it work. In any event it provides the background for a very sweet romance between Kenny and Emma. This isn't SEP's best, but it's still a very enjoyable read. P.S. It'll be interesting to see what she comes up with for Teddy Beaudine.

Rating: Summary: Lively and a bit of seduction Review: well this book follows the common to SEP scheme: 30 yo spunky virgin meet a boor millionaire playboy and the romance, marriage and pregnancy ensues. (btw only 2% of americans over 25 are virgins ))Despite the predictable yet unrealistic plot, its the dialogue that wins in this book as in others by SEP. It flirty and lively and even though I would not go back and reread as Wilde's, its still very indulgently enjoyable. I think in this particular book the male hero is given a chance to be a bit more creative than usually, as he's on a mission to seduce as opposed to some others in SEP's who start relationships on a spur of a moment.
Rating: Summary: Fine for a quick fun read Review: This story was cute and lighthearted; definitely not one of your more serious novels. Kenny was a treat, a real delight. I do like characters like him, they make me laugh.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, without out a doubt! Review: I loved this book. I usually cannot say that about a book because there are always things in it that bother me. But I can honestly say that "Lady Be Good" was one of the best books I have EVER read. It was one of those books where you're sitting on the couch and laughing so hard that your family worries about your sanity. Seriously, this book is so well written and does a very good job of catching human emotions and insecurities and throwing them together with a rich, unique and rather wicked type of humour. I cannot find a single flaw in it. Excellent, without a doubt!
Rating: Summary: Laughed til my sides hurt Review: This is probably my favorite SEP book, and that's saying a lot b/c I love them all! Her characters are so real and loveable, secondary plots have just as much depth as the primary plot, and her sense of humor is just plain wicked. An unbeatable combination.
Rating: Summary: Don't read this book without reading Fancy Pants!!! Review: Fancy Pants was good but left you wondering what eventually happened to all of the characters. Lady Be Good provides all of the answers!
