Summary: Excellent Romantic Suspense!
Review: "Genuine Lies" is a fabulously entertaining and thrilling novel, and is sure to please readers.
Julia Summers has been a single mom since she was 18-years-old and now her life is devoted to providing a safe and happy environment for her 10-year-old son, Brandon. Julia has established herself as a sought after Hollywood biographer, and her life is simple, just the way she wants it.
When movie goddess Eve Benedict enlists Julia to write her tell ALL biography of her 50-year career including numerous awards, husbands, and lovers, Julia is thrilled. But as Eve reveals her many deep, dark secrets, Julia realizes that there are a great many people who are desperate to keep Eve quiet and keep her book from ever being published.
Paul Winthrop, handsome novelist and Eve's beloved stepson, is protective of Eve and unsure of Julia. He believes this book can bring nothing but trouble. However, Paul finds himself very attracted to Julia, and Julia's resolve to stay single begins to weaken. Paul and Julia are both well-developed and likable characters, and their romance is sweet and beautifully rendered.
Eve believes that she has everything under control, but it soon becomes clear that there is a highly dangerous individual nearby who will take any measure necessary to stop this book - which means that Eve and Julia had better watch their backs!
This is a wonderful story full of suspense, intrigue and romance. It creates an excellent and exciting picture of Hollywood, and tells a story that will keep you glued to the pages. The ending is fabulous and totally unexpected. I guarantee you will enjoy this book - so buy it today!

Summary: My First Nora Robert's book...
Review: ...and probably my last. The book was pretty good, don't get me wrong, it's just that I felt kinda slimed after reading it, hard to explain. It's a fairly shallow book written in a rather simplistic style. It's a good "sit by the pool with a drink or two or three" book.

Summary: What a great book
Review: All I can say is that i couldn't put it down. It was a wonderful story and I couldn't belive some of the twists and turns that it took.

Summary: entertaining and enjoyable
Review: as a romance novel reader, you know that you're not reading classic novels. nora roberts' books are well written and entertaining, which is exactly what a romance novel reader should expect. i read this book about a year ago, and have been dying to read it again because i enjoyed the story line and the chemistry between julia and paul. of course it's predictable at times, but aren't all romance novels? don't buy it and expect anything deep or profound, buy it because of the fun and enticing story line with the benefit of two people falling in love.

Summary: Great beach or poolside book!
Review: But be careful...you'll get so engrossed you could get a nasty sunburn! I just finished this book and loved it from beginning to end. Nora Roberts had me guessing all the way through as to whodunnit. She also had me really caring about her characters too, which to me is a sign of a really satisfying story. I'm hoping there will be a sequel featuring a grown-up Brandon and Lincoln's grown-up children. Well done, Ms. Roberts!

Summary: Nora Roberts is the best!
Review: Eve Benedict was ready to write her memoirs. It would be totally honest. No punches to be held back. Eve had clawed her way to the top. She was a movie goddess. After fifty years in the spotlight she had many memories. So many lovers, lies, scandals, and secrets to tell. Many people were nervous or VERY scared. If Eve's memoirs are put in print, many lives would be changed. For sure many marriages would be broken and several people jailed.

Eve had hand picked her biographer. She was Julia Summers. Julia was twenty-eight years old, had a ten year old son, was the author of several other biographies, and very thorough in her researches.

Eve also adored her step-son. It was obvious that he and Julia were causing sparks whenever they got together; however, Eve loved causing chaos! As the research progressed threats are made, fists are punched, and Julia is in the middle of it all. Then Eve shatters Julia's world with the confession of her deepest secret. When Eve ends up dead, Julia is blamed.

***Many twists and turns! So much deceit and anger! I never saw many of the blows the author set me up for until the blow had landed! Exciting story and an excellent romantic suspence novel.***

Summary: One of NR's classics
Review: For many years GENUINE LIES was my all-time favorite of Nora Robert's books. (It has since been edged out by RIVER'S END.) The characters are rich and fascinating and the mystery is engrossing. I was so engrossed I never saw the surprises coming.

The only thing that turned me off about this book is that it is a paean to the so-called "pro-choice" cause. With some of her full-length novels, Nora has explored issues. In PUBLIC SECRETS it was domestic abuse; in HONEST ILLUSIONS it was Alzheimer's disease. In GENUINE LIES it is abortion. This book revolves around the "three choices" (actually there are only two) a pregnant woman can make -- abortion, adoption, and raising the child. It annoyed me that there was absolutely no pro-life counter-balance. The whole argument Nora makes is that a woman "must do what's 'right' for her." Pass the air-sickness bag. A woman must do what's right for her child.

Other than this annoyance, I loved this book so I didn't subtract any stars. GENUINE LIES is a wonderful read.

Summary: A Complete Dud....
Review: I can't believe I'm writing this about one of Nora Robert's books, but this novel was awful. It started out boring but I stuck with it hoping it would become interesting, but it never did. The characters and the plot were flat. Sorry, but this one's definitely not a keeper.
