Review: I devoured this book in one setting. It's suspenseful and engaging, as you find out all kinds of tidbits from a Hollywood star's life. Picture being able to follow Joan Crawford or Bette Davis around, finding out all the secrets they hold about Hollywood actresses, writers and dirctors, their kinky habits and glamourous lives. That's what Nora Roberts does in this novel -- she creates that world for you.My only gripe with the novel (and reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars) is that I was able to predict the killer, and I'm not fond of how the book ended. Still, the romance was lovely (as expected from any Roberts book) and the Hollywood backround fabulous!

Review: i didn't know this was a reissue - maybe that "80's" feel is what's putting me off. or maybe it was that it had clunky lines, was overly melodramatic and too long. i read it on the beach and when i finished, i wondered who thought it'd be a good thing to bring back. i've read much better.

Review: I have read a lot of Nora Roberts books and always enjoyed them but this one I really liked. I read it twice back to back to try piecing all the parts together that I had raced through when the plot started to thicken. As the bioagrapher developes the book on the aging actress another story is forming around the young writer and her child. As the story progresses I came to really like the famous star. I certainly don't admire her lifestyle but she paid a bitter price for all she had and she had it all. Money, fame, property, lovers, husbands, and power. ...

Review: I have read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact I started the book and had it read within 24 hours because I could not put it down. I have just started reading Nora Roberts and really enjoy her style of writing.

Review: I like a lot of Nora Roberts' work so it's hard to say which are the "best". This isn't her best by any means, but even Nora not at her best gives us entertaining, page-turning reading, and that's what this is. No, Julia's not the most sympathetic character in the world -- she comes off as ungrateful and just plain cruel sometimes -- but those very characteristics added some realism to what could have been a very one-dimensional character. Sure, Eve was a manipulative "Hollywood type", but aren't those the most fun? Not as easy to guess "whodunit" as in some of her other books, either.

Summary: Lovely and Enjoyable
Review: I Love Nora Roberts and this book did not dissapoint. The Hollywood glamour came across in this book. The characters are fun and true to life. I liked Julia and her son. I also liked Paul. I rated this a four instead of my normal 5 stars for Nora Roberts books for two reasons: I found the romance true to life, although a bit forced at times since Julia didn't quite trust Paul. I also found that there were many more characters than normal and I had a hard time following all of them.

Review: I LOVED this book. I could not put it down. I read it in 2 days and I wish Nora Roberts could have wriiten a sequel but (for those of you who have already read this it would probably be pointless :) I felt like I was right there with the characters and I wish the book was longer. If you are thinking about buying this book PLEASE do so, as with other Nora Roberts books this is a MUST READ!

Review: I started reading Nora Roberts in 1995. I must say, after reading my first NR book, Public Secrets, I knew I'd miss more than half of my life if I didn't get my hands on all the NR books. In a span of 2 months, I have read more than 5 books by Nora Roberts and Genuine Lies is, by far, the best one I've read so far. Unlike other authors, I was not able to anticipate who, what, where, when, why, and how things will happen at the end of this novel. This is a sure hit. Must-read, can't-be-put-down, page-turner--call Genuine Lies whatever you want, but it will still boil down to what it is said to be--a BESTseller
