Summary: Long and Dull
Review: I wasted most of the summer slogging through this book, and considered not finishing it at all. I'd put it down and it'd take me a week or two to get back to it. The story was drawn out too long and I couldn't warm up to any of the characters, even those that were supposed to be the protagonists. Eve Benedict was a manipulative user and not someone I could care about. (But then that's my opinion of most Hollywood types, past and present.) The climax of this story seemed foolish and I was hoping for a different twist on "whodunnit". Oh well... I hope Ms. Roberts'other books I've purchased and have yet to read won't prove to be such duds.

Summary: Genuine Lies
Review: Julia Summers has been hand picked to write the memoirs of Eve Benedict by Eve herself. She packs up her ten year old son and heads off to California to research and write the book. Once in California Julia begins receiving pieces of paper with sayings on them that are intended to be threatening. A lot of people want to put a stop to the writing of Eve's memoirs but one person in particular wants the book to never be published. Herein lies the mystery of the book. Just who is that one person.
There are a lot of characters in this book. All of which are close to Eve in some manner. I found it hard at times to keep all the characters straight. And then there were the flashbacks when Eve was telling of certain events or times. This book seemed to go on and on with little or no purpose. Once I got within the last hundred pages of the book it became very interesting and worth the time reading. I only wish the first three hundred pages could have kept my attention. It was hard to keep reading when I found it not that interesting. There was a climax to the storyline but I think it was too far into the book. To tell Eve's story took awhile but it wasn't really all that interesting.
To sum it up--Genuine Lies is a good book if you like the tales of the rich and famous (even if they are fictional). This book could have stood to be shorter. It might have even been better. If it wasn't for the last one hundred pages I would have rated this book two stars.

Summary: A Love Match In The Glitters of Hollywood
Review: Nora Roberts has truly outdone herself in this comtemporary romance about a writer who is chosen to write the biography of a movie goddess.

Julia Summers is the biograher. She is also the single mother of her ten year old son, Brandon. She lost her parents when she needed them most, and Brandon's father left her when she needed him. Now, she relies on noone and expects nothing from noone. All she wants most in the world is to succeed at what she does and be the best mom to Brandon.

Eve Benedict is the movie goddess. Ever since she arrived in Hollywood, she's had the determination to succeed at acting. She not only wanted to be a star, but she was determined to work very hard for it too. Through her career, she has had many heartbreaks, but she is a survivor. Now, she has to face her own mortality. As a movie goddess, she wants to leave quite a mark behind. Hence the idea of her biography, and in this biography, she is telling it ALL.

Paul Winthrop is Eve's stepson, the child she always wanted but could never have. He loves Eve and doesn't want her hurt. And so he is against Eve's book. When he meets Julie, the sparks fly right out of the pages! He wants to protect her, but she's been alone too long to appreciate it.

Eve's book is making everyone in Hollywood nervous. Scared their secrets are going to be revealed.

Genuine Lies is more than an appropriate title. The book is filled with suspense, romance, and Hollywood. It is definitely a must read. You will not be able to put it down ownce you begin. It's filled with sensual, sexy, tender, and smoldering love scenes. Don't miss out!

Summary: Good Read!
Review: Nora Roberts is always a good read. This book was no exception. I can usually figure out the "who done it" before the end of her stories (although, admittedly, I'm not a super-sleuth), but this one kept me guessing until Nora revealed the culprit at the end. Very enjoyable.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good, but I've read better
Review: Not Nora's best but definately worth a read. I really liked the mystery. The characters were good but there were too many of them so none of them really had too much depth.

A good leisure read but not as good as her trilogies. those are the ones I would recommend.

Summary: Genuine Lies
Review: Okay, I read this book over like ages ago then suddenly I thought of writing a review for it.

Julia Summers (I don't know what's with this name that authors like) is an author who was hired to write the biography of Eve. And Eve is a star who has a past to tell, secrets to exposs, and love tales to cherish. And through the story people began to plot against Eve and Julia's book. But that's not it, even with all these lies to tell, Eve has one last lie to tell that would change Julia's life forever.

Okay, the book was shallow. I'm telling you right now, characters are shallow in this book. If it wasn't for the last 200-150 pages I would of threw it away. And trust me the first chapter was unbarable! I wanted to just skip it but when I did I was lost. And also...this book could have been SO much shorter, if it was it would have been sooo much more fun to read. This is what you call a good, 'sit-in-a-lounge-with-a-cup-of-wine' book. One that would just keep you busy.

Through the whole book, I didn't want to RP, I didn't get into ANY of the character. Julia's son was very important through the first two chapters then he was suddenly forgetten as if he never existed!

So I give this a 3 star...perhaps 3 and 1/2 but it would not reach 4. How would you like to read a story filled with shallow and heartless characters?

This is a spoiler! The only part that was good is when Eve was killed and Julia and the hero was watching the video of her and the heritance...trust me that's the only good part. Nothing else is good. Nothing else is emotional. That's the only part out of a 500 some pages book that got me shedding tears. That's bad. Usually with a book that length I cry like a waterfall if it's good. >_>

Summary: "A book to die for"
Review: This boko was really good, it entertained me for hours and made me stay up during the night. Got told off by my mom for that. BUt it was so good, that I can't put it down, until I finished it! A book that is definitely full of Ms. Roberts ideas. And must have been written by her only. I loved both characters, Julia and Paul. Paul was so romantic and sympathetic to Julia and Ms. Roberts described both characters views perfectly well! I recommend this book to anybody who wants to be thoroughly entertained!
