Summary: Hoag on the Romantic side
Review: Serena Sheridan is a psychologist who returns to her ancestral home in Louisiana for a vacation. When she returns she has to deal with her seventy-eight year old grandfather who has gone out to his fishing cabin and refuses to return. She has a calculating twin sister that she has never gotten along with. And a politician brother-in-law who is very wishy-washy.

Serena finds out that a chemical company wants to buy the family property for a plant that will endanger wildlife. Her sister wants the property sold, of course, so she can have the money to advance her husband's political career.

The hunk of the story, Lucky, lives in the bayou and is a type of Robin Hood crusader. He keeps out the poachers and helps the people who live in the bayou. Lucky is put to the test by his inner demons when he finds himself falling in love with Serena.

Hoag fans who have read more recent books of hers, will find this more of a romance novel then Ashes to Ashes, Guilty as Sin and Night Sins. However, it is a great book with a good mystery, if a little more romantic then we've gotten accustomed to with Ms. Hoag.

Summary: Four and a half stars: an early book of Tami Hoag
Review: Splendid! Awesome! Stunning!
The touch of Tami Hoag makes even the steriotype fascinating.
What I most liked about this book was the description of the interesting swamps of Louisiana. I have never been there, since Hoag is really successful in storytelling, I could feel the atmosphere.
The main characters have lots of emotional baggage. Serena is a psychologist and returns to Louisiana to deal with her grandfather. There is a chemical company that aims to have a factory on that region. They wants to buy the Sheridan property. Shelby (twinsister of Serena) is eager to sell the property, she and her husband are too greedy to have everything completed without Serena's interruption.
Lucky is the best of the best hero that I haven't read in a suspense novel for a long time. He has lots of misgivings, emotional turmoil and is slightly lack of self-esteem. The romantica and relationship of the characters are well-described and adventurous.
In spite of its shortcomings (written in 1992)it is relatively great, give it a try. I gave 5 stars because it is belivable and not boring. Ideal for vacations.
Have a nice read.

Summary: Hot & Spicy Cajun Flavor
Review: Tami Hoag did not begin my fascination with cajuns but she sure stirred it back up. This book is delicious and erotic enough to make you want to jump the next available plane to the bayous of Louisiana to discover your own Lucky.

Summary: A nice afternoon..
Review: Tami Hoag has once again shown what a little imagination and a lot of talent can accomplish.
I enjoyed this book. It, for me, was a cross between a trashy romance novel, that at one time or another, every woman will read in the bath, and a well written mystery.
Lucky is by far the sexiest man I ever read about and I could virtually smell the swamp as well as the testostorone that man must have been exuding.
The ending, however was predictable and the reader knew this, but hell be damned if we weren't going to read it right to the end.
Very enjoyable, a must read for all of Ms. Hoag's fans, which I proudly proclaim myself a member,

Summary: Claptrap
Review: Tami Hoag has written some well-crafted mystery novels and she should stay with this genre. I read Lucky's Lady after reading Ashes to Ashes and Guilty as Sin, both of which I enjoyed. Sad to say, Lucky's Lady is the kind of book one would expect a sex-starved housewife to purchase in a super market. The plot is shallow and predictable form the start; the sex scenes seem to occurr every other page to the point of complete boredom.

Summary: I thought I was in the Louisiana Bayou.
Review: Tami Hoag is a wonderful storyteller and Lucky's Lady is one of my favorite books. The characters are real. Ms. Hoag uses their strengths and weakness to draw you into a multi-layered story about everyday people caught in an extraodinary situation. This book could stand alone as a romance or a suspense. I'm delighted it was both.

Summary: Lucky's Lady
Review: Tami Hoag used to be good writer. Over the years I have read and enjoyed 8 of her books. They had suspense, intrigue, and intricate plot twists, with a reasonable amount of sex and passion thrown in for flavor. This book, unfortunately, is just the opposite. It is all lust and sex with barely enough plot to hold it together. Then she tries to give it some cultural value with a handfull of cajun French phrases and a few paragraphs about the difference from European French. So, if you are looking for a Harlequin-type formula romance with an unfulfilled woman who is rescued and bedded by a super macho man, this is for you. If, however, you want a spine tingler suspense novel, you might want to go elsewhere.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not her best. Not a bad read, though.
Review: The herione is wimpy. Evidently she didn't get a backbone with the PhD. The description of the scenery is lush though, and the book reads well. I've read ALL of Tami's books and this one is the one I gave away first.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Outstanding Original!
Review: This book is well written. I felt like I was in the bayou and could personally see the struggles the characters went through. This book a person could truly say "I laughed, I cried." This is a moving story filled with good and bad. But at the same time there is plenty of romance and it will capture your heart. The author was thoughtful enough to add a section in the back for the cajon words spoken and their translations. This added that little extra something that makes it great.
