Rating: Summary: I Like SEP, but do not like this novel Review: Mainly because the hero is a jerk. He treats Daisy terrible from day one. Even after he's formed a semi-affectionate rapport with her and, I think, had sex with her, he doesn't believe her when she says she didn't steal money from the circus. He doesn't deserve her, despite shedding his jerky behavior toward the end. The heroine is not too much better; oh, she treats Alex great (too great in my opinion), but she acts like an airhead and takes too much [bull] from him. SEP can write some fabulous romance novels; I'm thinking, particularly, of the Chicago Stars series. However, surprising as it may be, she can also write some of the worst (Fancy Pants comes to mind--it's the worst romance novel of all time in my opinion). This, is not as bad as Fancy Pants, but it's definitely one I'd recommend getting from the library rather than reading if, indeed, you must read it.
Rating: Summary: It is not a new book Review: One should not present an old book, reedited like new one, plus it is not the best of this author. I almost bought it twice, as it was presented as her latest, and I like how she writes,
Rating: Summary: A Fine Read! Even with a circus. Review: I'll admit I almost didn't read this one because of "THE CIRCUS" thing. I couldn't imagine a worse profession for a hero. Although SEP pulled it off because of her talent, I wouldn't want this to be a trend setter. That said, the book was nearly perfect. Great story, not a dull moment anywhere. Alex and Daisy were magnificant together. Very descriptive personalities, and great looks to boot.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful surprise Review: I admit when I first read the plot of this book I was skeptical. Arranged marriage in this day & age? Socialite ends up in a circus with her groom? Sounded pretty hokey to me. Wow, was I wrong. Daisy's character was endearing, warts and all. She truly had a heart of gold. But it took a long time for anyone to realize that. At first you wanted to smack Alex on the side of the head, but he did end up redeeming himself beautifully. Another reviewer commented on the implausibility of the Romanov connection. That aspect of the book fascinated me so much that I started researching Alexei Romanov. I've read several books on him, found extensive info on the Internet and found out the connection isn't so implausible after all. Let's just say, it's true, fact is stranger than fiction! This book is definitely worth the read. You'll laugh & cry & cheer!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Another great SEP book. Not as good as Nobody's Baby But Mine, but still a great page turner. This book gets you going from the beginning and doesn't stop. If you are a fan of SEP I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: Count me in that minority of readers who love Susan Elizabeth Phillips' books but who found this novel one of her weaker efforts. The implausibility of the plot and characters was just too much of a strain on this reader's enjoyment. Daisy's ability to connect psychically with tigers, Alex's Romanov heritage...please! I don't expect my romance novels to be solidly factual, but _Kiss an Angel_ asks a reader to suspend not merely disbelief, but intelligence as well. Get _Lady Be Good_ or _Heaven, Texas_ instead.
Rating: Summary: Not the best I've ever read Review: Un like a lot of people who loved this book, I really didn't not find this one up to the par of Honey Moon or Nobody's Baby but Mine or Dream A Little Dream. It's very unconventional and it does have some moments where you laugh out loud but all in all not a book I would tell someone looking for a SEP to read.
Rating: Summary: If I could give this book 20 stars I would!! Review: I absolutely loved this book! I do not know where SEP gets her inspiration for all the wonderful books that she writes, but one thing's for sure--- I hope that she continues to write more and more books with the same talent that she shows in Kiss An Angel. The characters Alex and Daisy are wonderful - Alex as a very tough and closed individual and Daisy - a kind hearted somewhat irresponsible woman - they come together to teach one another about the power of love and trust and of course of passion! If you are looking for a true to the bone romantic novel - but this book! I started it this afternoon and its now 2:15 a.m. and I've only just finished it! This book is so wonderful and heart warming that my only regret is that I've finished it off so quickly!
Rating: Summary: You won't regret it Review: Aren't all romances cliches? In a sense, that's also true of this one. But in another sense, it's quite fresh because of its unique perspective. (For instance, does the typical romantic heroine end up shoveling out an elephant trailer at any point in the plot?) It's fun watching Daisy learn to cope with her new setting and yes, she will capture your heart. And it's just as fun watching Alex learn to laugh. Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a master of romantic comedy. You'll laugh through the book and sigh when it's over. (I actually enjoyed it so much that I turned right around and read it a second time.)
Rating: Summary: Best book I ever read. Review: I feel It was very well writen. It never stopped suprising me.
