Rating: Summary: Simply excellent! Review: This is a great read. I could not put the book down. Daisy is so unique and original! It's been a treat to watch her handle Alex. Well done Ms Phillps.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best! Review: This story was fantastic. It had all the criteria of a good romance, from a sweet& sexy heroine, dark, mysterious hero to laughter, sadness, drama and a bunch of secondary characters (including some circus animals). I'm already looking forward to reading another of Ms Philip's books!
Rating: Summary: different, and definitely interesting! Review: I really enjoyed this book. Who doesn't have a fascination for what circus life is like? I found the main character to be a real sweetheart. And, I could identify with her in wanting a normal life. Like Daisy, all I had growing up was an "unconventional" childhood. Toward the end, I didn't know how SEP was going to wind it up, and the ending was bittersweet. This was my first book by this author, and I have just started another one of her novels.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly entertaining! Wish I'd found SEP earlier! Review: I was in the local bookstore looking for a good book to curl up with for the weekend when, to my extreme dismay, the latest release from one of my favorite authors of contemporary romance was sold out. Actually I suppose this was a fortunate incident, otherwise I might not have been compelled to pick up a work of SEP. I had seen some friends reading her work last year, but I'm always reluctant to try new authors (being a college student forces me to be a bit cheap/thrifty!). I'm sooo glad I took a chance though; SEP really won my heart with her ability to make a reader feel the hero and heroine's every emotion. Her writing embodies the spiritual roller coaster that is meant to be in contemporary romance!
Rating: Summary: I love this book!!! Review: A good friend of mine recommended that I read this book. She kept on telling me about how good this books is, and after I read it, I couldn't agree more! Daisy is so used to living in luxury, and her marriage to Alex was quite a shock, especially after he said that he expected her to join him in the circus! At some part in the book, I hated Alex because he was too hard on Daisy... At least he paid for it in the end! Also, the tiger is really cute!
Rating: Summary: KISS AN ANGEL brings back happy memories. Review: A number of years ago, my family lived in New Jersey. Our house backed up to the elementary school our sons attended. (I could even watch them at recess from my office window, something I loved to do.) Anyway, there was a large field attached to the school, and early one morning my husband and I awakened to a strange pounding sound. We looked out our window and saw elepehants! A traveling circus had moved in during the night. The noise that had awakened us came from the stake pounder. I abandoned my typewriter and spent most of that day in the field watching workers set up the big top. I also peaked into trucks and trailers as inconspicuously as I could manage. I must confess I wasn't interested in the circus performance at all. Rather, it was the lives of the performers and workers that intrigued me. What must it be like? I stored the experience away for many years, until long after we'd moved from New Jersey to our current home near Chicago. Then one day it all bubbled to the surface and KISS AN ANGEL began to take shape in my head. From the beginning, Daisy captivated me. She was such a ditz, but I adored her because her heart was so pure. And Alex... The dark, tortured hero is irresistable to those of us who love romance, isn't he? I hope all of you enjoy my one and only circus book!
Rating: Summary: Not Susan Elizabeth Phillips Best Review: I've read several of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' books and so far this was my least favorite. The union of Daisy and Alex was unbelievable to begin with. I just found the book to be very contrived. The book is not bad, just not her best.
Rating: Summary: O I just loved it! Review: O I really loved this book! It was soo funny and witty and I just couldn't put it down even for a second...that was how into the book I was. I really liked Alex, because he had a great personality and didn't seem deformed like some other authors would try to make their heros and then make the girl try and save them from their own misery. Well, yes, Alex had that problem but he wasn't that into himself and he actually gave her the time of day, and I loved Daisy! She is the sweetest girl, and she believed in love and everything, and I loved her optimesstic! And I thought the book was just so romantic and it seemed like it wasn't going to be so great in the ending and it was wonderful...I just loved this book so much!
Rating: Summary: Worth 5 stars and more!!!! Review: I absolutely fell inlove with the characters in this book. This book has made Susan Elizabeth Phillips one of my new favorite authors. I recommend this novel to anyone who wants to experience the joy of falling in love with humor, passion and pride.
Rating: Summary: Laugh out loud funny, moving and different Review: This book is definetly different than other romances. It's sarcastic humor, fascinating dark side and lovable characters kept me up 'til five in the morning.
