Summary: Complex, Moving, Rewarding
Review: After reading a number of the previous reader comments, I almost did'nt buy this book. However, I am very glad that I took a chance.

While this is not a typical SEP book filled with the hilarious dialog and scenes that I love so much, the story and characters are both interesting and touching. It was especially rewarding to read about people who encounter and overcome sorrow and unfair accusation. The roller coaster ride to me was a metaphor for the need to face the difficut/harsh realities of life head on in order to grow and survive. This is a great book - not to be missed!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: BUY THIS BOOK

I've just recently discovered S.E.P. and boy what a treasure she is! The last book that touched me this deeply was Karen Robards', One Summer. And in Honey Moon, S.E.P delivers as much, if not more! The characters in Honey Moon leap off the page.

S.E.P's heroes, both of them, will haunt you for months to come. Two men with completely different personalities, but each with compelling emotional depth. And both are *equally* heroic. Anyone who writes fiction must know how difficult this is to accomplish with one hero, let alone two. But S.E.P does it well!

I fell in love with them, cried with them, laughed with them and I feel like I've been on an emotional rollercoaster. Dash Coogan and Eric Dillon were more than remarkable.

The blurb on the back of the book sums them both up so well: "Dash Coogan ... the last of the movies' cowboy heroes, trapped on a screen too small to contain a legend. Eric Dillon ... Hollywood's bad boy, whose dark, seductive appeal and blazing talent hid a painful secret that has scarred his soul."

And the title character ... well, what can I say? She was simply extraordinary. Watching her grow from a child into a woman was a sight to behold, something that's also hard to pull off in fiction. But, S.E.P. does it with sensitivity and flair.

It's a rare book that can make me cry, and cry I did. Thank you S.E.P. for giving me such a rewarding read.

Summary: Terrible, depressing and not worth buying
Review: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!! If you have, you would most probably throw it away as far as you can. I am glad I have bought her other books that are very good. This one is depressing, all her characters are stuck in their past and struggling too hard to move on. The man the heroine loved get killed in the process, another character get accused as a pedophiliac and lo and behold! The rollercoaster solve the problems! This book should never go out to print under SEP's name... use another alias! You get you money worth buying It Had To Be You, Kiss An Angel, Nobody Baby's But Mine.

Summary: A change of pace for Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Review: Even though this is not your typical romance, most readers will really enjoy it. It is the story of Honey Moon, a young girl from a rough background who rather accidentally finds herself the star of a TV show. The romance in the book is generally pretty good, but the more interesting part of the book is Honey's growth from a tough, unloved girl, to an emotionally dependent wife, to an independent and fully mature woman. As usual, Susan Elizabeth Phillips is adept at adding touches of humor and creating interesting, multi-dimensional characters. It's a good read. Nevertheless, if you're reading it just for the romance, you will find it only marginally satisfying.

Summary: Possibly the best book I have read in my entire life
Review: Honey Moon living part of her life as a child star, than later falling in love with one of her co-stars ( I won't say which one ) was just like living through it myself. It was like being able to glimpse into someone's actual life, instead of reading a book. The characters were like people I got to know.

Summary: A mixed review
Review: Honey Moon, at the age of sixteen, has the weight of her family's responsibilities all on her shoulders. She owns the Silver Lake Amusement Park (home of the Black Thunder wooden roller coaster)and she is flat broke. Honey feels her only way out of financial trouble is to enter her cousin Chantal in the Miss Paxawatchie County Beauty Pagent because whoever wins the contest will get an audition for The Dash Coogan Show. Honey truly believes Chantal will get the part, but it is Honey who becomes the child star on the show. We get to watch the fiesty young girl, who falls in love with her co-star Eric, grow into a young woman and marry Dash Coogan, lead star of the show. Honey's life is anything but easy! There is enjoyment and tragedy. But in the end, Honey can at least say that here life has come full circle and she is finally able to let go and truly be happy. What a great read!

Summary: One of her best!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! It made me laugh and cry and reread lots of it over and over. I've read most of SEP's books and this is my favorite. Honey's life is not always wonderful, and the heroes and heroine have flaws. But it is a rich, wonderful story - despite its wacko title. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Powerful emotion and a heroine I will never forget!
Review: I adore SEP's books. She writes emotion, both laughter and tears like few others in the business. Honey is a character who is perfectly amazing in this girl-woman coming of age book. I cried at her pain and laughed at her spunkiness. It is not only a strong love story, but it is women's fiction at its best. This book is a favorite of mine BECAUSE it is real and the heroine's pain is real and her happiness and spirit exceptional. If you want more than just fun...if you want maturity in your reading, do NOT miss this book. It is a treasure!

Summary: Don't bother
Review: I am glad that I had read some of her other books before this. I made myself finish it and I would not do that again. I never cared about Honey and I just don't see how the rollercoaster solved her problems. Read _It Had To Be You_, _Heaven, Texas_ or _Dream A Little Dream_ instead.
