Summary: Damn!
Review: i must say that i'm a pretty huge romance novel fan, even though i may be only 15. but in a lot of books characters are left with out development. this is deffinitly not one of those books, because i can seriously say that i had absolutly no idea where the book was going. but Honey Jane Moon is certainly one of those characters that cannot be forgotten, although i had some serious issues with her marrying Dash, mostly because he seemed such a lame character when you compared him with all the other awesome characters in this book, but Eric had such a depth that no one could really know what he would do next. but you couldn't help but fall all over yourself over. but i will warn you that it isn't your average book, it's not quite as light hearted as others but i think if you're tired of the same old characters then give this one a try because it's really hard not to love a woman who basically found hope on a Rollercoaster! i really hope you like it!

Summary: mixed feelings
Review: I'm giving this book 3 stars because I love SEP but this book was not her typical story. It was dark and so very sad. If you're looking for an uplifting read DON'T GET THIS BOOK.Now if you're in the mood to to be depressed read on......

Summary: Outstanding!!
Review: I've read most of Susan's books, but I have to say that this one was one of my favorites! This is probably because I can relate to many of heroine's issues such as: not feeling loved as a child, being strong-willed and driven, etc. I especially loved the way the author wove in the idea of a roller coaster ride representing the ups and downs of life, the light after dark, and so on.

Susan, I love your books!! Please continue writing!!

Summary: Intense but good
Review: If you've never read a Susan Phillips book and you enjoy light, fun romance (as I do), DO NOT let this be your first SEP novel! This book is intense with a lot of emotionally difficult things going on. Instead I recommend Breathing Room, Heaven Texas, It Had To Be You, First Lady or Lady Be Good. I do not normally enjoy novels like Honey Moon. The characters here are mostly emotional messes who are still being heavily influenced by the bad things that happened to them when they were young. But, as always SEP does a fantastic job showing their growth and healing. I did think that Honey and Eric's falling in love with each other was way too abrupt. I really would have liked to see them become gradual friends who helped each other heal over a longer period of time before they became lovers. I was also a bit disturbed by the relationship between Honey and Dash. Not the fact that their relationship turned to a rather co-dependent love (stuff like that happens) but that while Honey was allowed to grow and form a healthy, mature relationship with Eric, Dash was not. He was killed off while still a washed up actor with very little respect. I felt SEP did his character a diservice and it was frustrating for the book to spend so much time with him and he ends up as he does. I almost gave the book three stars for that point alone. But, overall I thought the book was very good and I recommend it if you are looking for a romance with intensity and darkness. Oh, and I have to say one more thing. I appreciate so much that all the characters actions in this book make sense. There are no stupid misunderstandings and all the characters stay in character. Thank you Ms. Phillips!!

Summary: Out of the Ordinary
Review: If you've read too many formulatic romance novels, this is a wonderful example of a writer who is not limited by genre. The characters are well written, and it displays life as true to form: messy sometimes, unpredicatable and occasionally devestating. Most women will be able to sympathize with Honey's acting out and teenage confusion. I would recommend this book to anyone tired of your typical bodice-ripping romance.

Summary: AN EMOTIONAL RIDE!
Review: In HONEY MOON, we meet Honey Jane Moon. A lonely girl of sixteen who becomes a Hollywood child star and in the span of 13 years grows up into a strong admirable woman. We also meet the two men who change her life, Dash Coogan, the last of the movies' cowboy heroes and dark and sinfully attractive Eric Dillon, a man haunted by his own tragic life... This was a wonderful coming of age story filled with tragedy but with a love that overcomes it all. This is a great read worth your time and money. You'll enjoy it. Trust me

Summary: This one gave me the creeps! It's not dark, it is gross!
Review: Okay, okay, I realize that this is going to be one of those dividing books that one either loves or hates, and it being an SEP book, I thought my initial feelings would change. Sorry, uh-huh, it still makes me cringe. Besides the ickiness of Honey and Dash getting together (he had been her father-figure), I never really came to understand or care about the characters. Yes, I saw all of the 5-star ratings calling this book emotionally-riveting, but I kept thinking how in need of a shrink all of the characters were! Yuck! Gross! Eeck! So glad this wasn't my first SEP book, or I'd never touch another with a ten-foot pole.

Summary: Better than the reviews would lead you to think
Review: One of Susan Elizabeth Phillips best. More in the vein of DREAM A LITTLE DREAM than, say, FANCY PANTS. Its not as full of good ole boy humor as some of her others but rather is full of deep emotions and characters. The emotional growth of the characters over time is very moving. I like all of her books but this one and DREAM A LITTLE DREAM are the ones I read over. If you are looking for the simple - guy meets girl, a few problems, jump into bed, live happily ever after with their one true love, kind of book - look again. Life, love and literature are more interesting than that.
