Summary: I laughed so hard my ribs hurt
Review: I was hooked on Dara Joy after Kight of a Trillion Stars. Although this book is not set in her Knights of the Charl series I was pleased to find that it had the same deft blend of romance and humor. Dara Joy does not mind humiliating her characters upon occasion and I was definitely wincing for the characters more than once. The family is drawn with rediculous lines that ring true. Having an odd family of my own it was nice to see people drawn as a bit off and still a delight.

This book is pure unadulturated escapism. It is like a good chocolate truffle; it is sweet and pleasurable all the way through. The humor is what really sets this book apart from other contemporary romance. It doesn't take itself seriously and by doing that is delightful.

Summary: One of the Best!
Review: I love this book the only thing I didn't like about this book was that Auntie ran over Tybers' Harley. Other than that it is one of my Favs. I also think if you get this book you should get High Intensity the sequel to High Energy.Hope you like them as much as I do.

Summary: Guess What?!
Review: This book, the books that have preceded it and followed it ROCK!! You must read this book and then you must read the sequel. If you have already read this book, please read the following: For those of you who love this book, and who wouldn't? it is absolutely fabulous!! Guess what?! Dara Joy, the greatest writer ever, wrote a sequel to High Energy, it's called High Intensity. For those of you hoping that Greg and Mills get together, for those of you hoping that there is a Matrix of Destiny tie-in, for those of you who want me to just get to the point... In this book, Dara Joy has Yannif (a Matrix of Destiny character from Rejar, Knight of a Trillion Stars, and Mine to Take), Greg and Mills and of course Tyberius Augutus Evans and Zanita Masterson are getting married (right?). Those kooks are acting like Abbott and Costello, from Who's on First?, in this book. Unfortunatley you have to really look for Yannif in this book, he only makes a one, maybe two sentence appearance. Greg and Mills and Cody are in this book although Mills still doesn't have a clue. Look for Ritual of Proof coming out in June 2001.

Summary: Her best justs gets better
Review: This is the 4th book of Dara's I have read and she just gets better.with each one. I am about to start High Intensity and i've no doubt it will be even better. Please Dara keep writing about these wonderful people. Mills and Gregor are the perfect couple in the making. The posibilities are endless. One of the other reviewers is spot on when she suggests linking the Matrix of Destiny books with this series. It would be absolutely wonderful.

I love Dara's style of writing. It captures you, draws you in and holds you till the last page. All Dara's books have a magnetism all of their own. Thank you for giving us the pleasure of your work.

Summary: HIGH ENERGY HAS HIGH HUMOR QUOTIENT
Review: Dara Joy kept me laughing throughout this book. The hero is every woman's dream. The heroine is a bit of an oddball, but you get used to her. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy your romance with humor and a decent plot.

Summary: Strange -- Dara's best was one of her earliest
Review: Rarely does an author hit her stride so well on only her second (?) novel ever published. I had read the entire matrix of destiny trilogy before I ever got to High Energy, and loved the quirky characters that Dara has such a talent for introducing. So imagine my surprise when the least sci-fi of her romances -- if it can be called sci-fi at all -- turned out to have the most imaginitive and witty chemistry!

Tyber and Zanita have a classic "George and Gracie" dialog thing going, and they are both too lovable. Tyber's only fault from this reader's perspective is a somewhat condescending attitude toward Zanita's career as a reporter for the local paper. Hey, almost perfect is a heck of a lot better than most of the run of the mill jerks that pose for romance heroes. Zanita is the only female in the known universe non-linear (read: weird) enough to confound him. Together they create a delightful duo, setting forth to solve a mystery involving a local con artist.

A note to Matrix of Destiny fans: There's just enough left unexplained and hinted at to cause me to doubt that Tyber is entirely human; his Familiar-like cat is the best allusion to the Matrix of Destiny trilogy that Dara could have thrown in . Not to mention his eccentric lifestyle and the fact that he is an extraordinaryily gifted genius/Renaissance man. Perhaps this is the seed for a future tie-in novel between the two universes. We can only hope.

Summary: Fun and sexy - what's not to like?
Review: This was my first Dara Joy read, and I can't wait to pick up the next one. High Energy was funny, sweet, tender and erotic all at once, and when I got done, all I could think of was "MORE"!

Zanita is sort of a stereotypical ditz - a little loopy, cute in a oddball kind of way, but not dumb. I expected Tyber to be her exact opposite, and was delighted to find that he was just as nuts as Zanita. Granted, the man is a rocket scientist, but Ms. Joy has gifted him with a mischevious nature, bizarre housemates and an incredibly sweet, romantic heart. The book and characters really should not have worked in a romantic setting, but the author has really worked a miracle here. I understood perfectly why Zanita appealed to Tyber and boy, did I understand why Tyber was so attractive to Zanita.

The subplot about Xavier LaLeche is mildly interesting, but the best parts of the book are the interplay between Zanita and Tyber. The dialogue sparkles, the romance is beautiful and the lovemaking is hot, hot, hot without being too graphic.

When I finished the book, I found myself wishing Joy had carried the story for another couple hundred pages, because I had genuinely come to like Tyber and Zanita. While it looks like Mills and Gregor will be having their own books, I would really, really like to see Tyber and Zanita have their own series. If you're looking for a light romantic story that is surprisingly moving, I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A rollicking good time!
Review: A mistake in spelling puts reporter Zanita Masterson in a physics seminar held by Tyberius Augustus Evans instead of the psychic seminar she wanted. Tyber agrees to help Zanita with her investigation of a slimy psychic healer to keep her safe and living with him. One and a half relationships that failed made Zanita swear off men. She was not getting into anything permanent with Tyber, but it couldn't hurt to make love once in a while.

Wonderful pairing of two slightly warped individuals. The humor is exquisite, the romance equally delightful. This book has been in my "to-be-read" pile for a long time. It wasn't until I read the MATRIX OF DESTINY series (beginning with KNIGHT OF A TRILLION STARS) that I had to read this book. Talk about a hidden treasure! Buy this book if you enjoy humor in your romance, get a kick out of movies like BRINGING UP BABY, or devour Jayne Ann Krentz books for their witty repartee and humor. Bring on the story of Gregor and Mills!

Summary: It Was Brilliant!
Review: I don't think I've ever laughed so hard over a book before. To start off, there was a positively gorgeous motorcycle riding physicist, Tyberius Augustus, paired up with a completely zany heroine, Zanita. Zanita meets up with Tyber's through an unfortunate spelling mistake. She's researching psychics for an article and he's trying to teach physics, go figure. They meet, they sparkle together, opposites totally attracted. Throw in a chef that thinks he's on a pirate ship, a cat who takes his coffee after breakfast thank you very much, an aunt who makes even Tyber's odd household seem normal and the laughs just won't stop. I practically had tears coming out of my eyes I was laughing so hard. This is a must read.
