Rating: Summary: LOVE IT: A heroic couple who save their home together! Review: Cabal has got a dark past as King Richard's mightiest knight. Trained from childhood to kill without mercy, his past cruelties haunt him.Emmalyn has worked for 3 years to bring her land and castle to the thriving state it now boasts. She has been happy to have her abusive husband away in battle with King Richard. Now, she learns that she is widowed. When King Richard sends his best knight, Cabal, to protect the castle and widow, Cabal would rather have stayed on the battlefield. Emmalyn is angry about his invasion of her home, and she sends a plea to the queen to have Cabal removed. But Emmalyn begins to see all of the goodness in Cabal. She sees his bravery in slaying rapists, his compassion with those who are weaker than himself, and his gentleness with children. Emmalyn becomes determined to bring Cabal's heart to the surface. Over the next weeks, Cabal works day and night to build an army out of the people in the keep. An enemy is seeking to take Emmalyn's home by force. He teaches the people that even farmers can fight for what they love. He has fallen for Emmalyn, and he will fight until his last breath to save her home. Emmalyn works daily to soften Cabal's hard shell. She strives to teach him that his kindness is not a sign of weakness. Cabal is Emmalyn's first true love. She is willing to spend as long as it takes to reach his heart. When the enemy comes, Emmalyn's people have a choice to make. They can band together and fight for their home, or lose all that they have worked for. One powerful knight, one courageous lady, 12 aging guards, and 200 maidens & farmers are determined to stand together. Their minds are strong from the example that Cabal has set. Their hearts are strong with the love they have for their Lady. Tina St. John is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. Her love scenes are excellent, her characters realistic, her storylines exciting. I've read 4 of her books so far, and have not been bored by repetition. Each one is unique. I'm looking forward to more.
Rating: Summary: Lady of Valor - Great Book with a Hero To-Die-For!! Review: Having grown up on Garwood and Lindsey medievals, I am always on the lookout for books that will grab me on the first page and take me away to another time with characters I like to spend time with. Tina St. John's LADY OF VALOR is just such a book! From the minute I met Sir Cabal on Crusade, bloody dagger in hand standing over a dead officer (the heroine's husband, come to find out), I was hooked. When he and Emmalyn get together it is tender yet hot and never silly like some other books get. Cabal is dark and dangerous as the infamous Blackheart, but he is never cruel and Emmalyn is strong and intelligent as well as beautiful. I was so nervous when Cabal's dark secret came out near the end but the final chapters had me cheering! I really loved this book (and her first one LORD OF VENGEANCE!!) and now I eagerly await the next one on Ms. St. John's schedule!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding - Nothing Less than 5* Will Do Review: I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who would like to read a fabulous book! From the first page, you are hooked as you are introduced to Sir Cabal, the feared knight known as Blackheart, standing over the dead body of Garrett of Fallonmour. Cabal was a warrior and the last thing he wanted was to be sent to Fallonmour to guard the holding for King Richard. But, King Richard knew that Sir Cabal was the one knight he could trust wholeheartedly. Lady Emmalyn of Fallonmour was not looking forward to the return of her husband, yet she never wished him dead - just never coming back. It was difficult to trust this dark and forbidding knight who was sent to guard the keep, but something drew her to him. This has all the elements that make a medieval wonderful, action, to die for handsome knight with secrets, lush and fabulous romantic interludes! Great read - highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: Another Winner from Ms. St. John! Review: I just finished this novel and now can't wait to start reading it all over again! That's how much I loved LADY OF VALOR; that's how much I adore Tina St. John's writing. Lady Emmalyn of Fallonmour was particularly well done. She is a strong, classy heroine in every sense. Cabal (Blackheart) is a hero to steal your heart, but his tortured soul only belongs to Emmalyn -- eventually. From the first page to the last, he's dark, dangerous and utterly compelling. The writing is beautiful and clean! I didn't think she could top LORD OF VENGEANCE, but the author proved me (happily) wrong. Buy this book!
Rating: Summary: Good but still needing something else Review: I loved St. John's Lord of Vengence and was eagerly awaiting this arival. Unfortunately, there was definitly something lacking. The main pair lacked a closeness and intimate connection that Ariana and the hero shared in LoV. Perhaps I was comparing it too much to the first novel, but I felt that there was too little interaction between the destined pair.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Follow-up to a Great Debut! Review: I loved this book! I admit it, I had some pretty high expectations after St. John's great debut Lord of Vengeance, but Lady of Valor satisfied me on every level. Pair a hardened, lethal warrior with a wounded, yet proud, widow, then mix in some dark secrets and political intrique and you have a winning medieval tale filled with emotion and sensuality! Unlike the previous reader, I actually felt that these two characters were more real and more connected than the ones in the first book. This is a totally different kind of story than Lord of Vengeance and while I probably liked the action of the first better -- it was a more energetic plot -- I liked the depth of character and tender unfolding of Lady. Not to mention the great love scenes! It does have its share of action and excitement too, but it's really a story about two wounded people learning to trust each other and love. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Talent! Review: I loved Tina's debut book Lord Of Vengeance. I was blown away by her talent from day one. She has a way with words that enwraps you within the tale, keeps you turning pages, and has you hopelessly falling in love with her characters. In Lady of Valor, she has another winner. Emmalyn and Cabal are two characters I will carry in my heart for some time to come. I eagerly await Ms. St. John's release White Lion's Lady. Talent like hers is hard to come by.
Rating: Summary: A disappointment Review: I really enjoyed St. John's first book, Lord of Vengeance, so I eagerly awaited Lady of Valor. But I was disappointed. The dialogue was good, so were her characters, even the plot was original. What disappointed me was the writing. She relied on so many cliches that I've read in so many other romances. I just expected more from her. I forced myself to finish it just to see how she brought it to a close, but I did so by reading only the dialog. I really wanted to like it, but I didn't.

Rating: Summary: great book in historical romance genre Review: I really liked this book. The best part was the dialogue. I hate when the dialogue in these romance novels are corny and this one certainly wasn't. It was entertaining and romantic both.
