Summary: In the words of Jimmy "J.J." Walker--"DY-NO-MITE!!!!!!"
Review: Look out! Kayla Perrin has done it again! If you want to read a great book you won't be able to put down, with a heroine you will call your best friend, and a hero you will fall in love with, then this is the book for you! Alice Watson might have left her home town years ago, overweight and unappreciated by the "popular" crowd. But she's back, years later, and she's got it goin' on! But the reader will soon find that a pretty face and figure-to-die-for are not all that Alice is about. She is a warm, caring woman, someone who puts family first. She loves kids, and goes out of her way to help the local community children's theatre. And Marcus, the delicious hero you will want to take home for your very own, soon sees past the gorgeous Hollywood exterior of Alice's "Desiree LaCroix" to find the warm, loving friend he loved all along, though he never wanted to admit it to himself! Add a dash of intrigue, and this book will be on your must-read list. Don't miss it!

Summary: Maybe I'm missing something...
Review: Maybe I missed something. I read some of the other reviews and I cannot agree with the glowing ratings that others gave this book. It was my first and last book by Ms. Perrin. (Sorry) Maybe I was expecting too much. Maybe I was expecting to read a book along the lines of Eric Jerome Dickey or Terry McMillan. I don't know, but I did not like this book. At all. The only reason I kept reading it was because I wanted to know the reason behind the mother-daughter situation. Also, I was expecting to have some of the black experience related in this story. But there wasn't any.

Summary: Love it!!!
Review: Since I was 8, I was reading all kinds of books for kids my age. I continued to do that until I was 15. By that time I was getting sick of the teenage drama and...well the censors. I live in New York so I've experienced a lot more, you know. I asked my mom if it was okay if I could start reading the books she reads. She said it was fine. At that time in my life I was little overweight so I was attracted to this book right away. I loved it. The mystery of the threats given to Alice, the steamy attraction between Alice and Marcus, and the emotional drama with Alice's past in her family. It was great and I want to thank Kayla Perrin for her wonderful story. I am now 18 and I have probably read it like 20 times.

Summary: For any who have struggled with self esteem
Review: This writer understands what it feels like when you are the loner at your high school. I could understand the character completely and I think this book will touch anyone who has struggled with being different. Also, once again Kayla Perrin adds a mystery to the love story which I always enjoy.
