Summary: Delightful
Review: This book is full of people I'd like to know. They are well-drawn and funny in all the right places.

They are also very lucky. Diana's family is populated with incredibly beautiful people. Though her shop is failing, it is a crisis of self-achievement rather than financial concerns.

All that aside, it's a really fun read. There's no deep philosophy going on here, but there are interesting truths which is really all a good book needs.

Summary: Predictable and boring
Review: This book just didn't do it for me. Although the plot was indeed interesting, and there were some good moments, especially Diana's odd relationship with her father and sisters, for the most part this book just isn't what I thought it would be. I found her constant descriptions about everything, especially what people wore extremely boring and the ending is predictable to say the least.

I can't really say that you shouldn't buy this book because is not terrible, but in my humble opinion, it is not good either.

Summary: Hmmm....sounds familiar
Review: This book reminded me of my younger years and history with guys. It also made me grateful that I have finally found someone (my husband) who fits me like a glove. Christina Bartolomeo has written a very sweet first novel that was a pleasure to read. I didn't care much for the soap opera updates or the details regarding every person's outfit, but the plot was definitely identifiable. CUPID AND DIANA was good enough to make me want to read her next novel when she writes one.

Summary: Could have used a better editor.
Review: This book was an entertaining, quick read. I chuckled at a few scenes and descriptions. I actually teared up at a few of the poignant descriptions of Diana's sister and grandfather. However, there were sentences that strained so hard to be grammatically correct that I had to reread them--why not just rewrite them to flow better? At least one character, Diana's sister Annette, was so extraneous that her inclusion diminished her relationship to her other sisters. Why include Annette at all? Also, her relationship with her father was so incompletely explored that Diana's reaction to him on several occasions didn't ring true. Why not leave this relationship as background color?

Summary: a heartwarming read
Review: This book was quite a satisfying read - witty and tender with just a sprinkling of bittersweet (but ultimately sweet). It was a book with character, and no shortage of style and elegance.

I only wish that there had been a bit more humour and a little less agonizing over the terribly complex and problematic relationships Diana has with EVERY OTHER character in the book! I suppose that made the book more "real", though. I would not recommend this book to readers who want their books to have a happy-sad ratio of at least 8:2!

I liked how Diana was such a spunky, far-from-perfect heroine and Harry, so irrepressibly sexy and funny and LOST.

I also loved the trials and tribulations of Campanella family (and who could forget "Covington Heights"!), and the not-so-subtle jabs at the Catholic Church are not to be missed either!

There is wonderful characterization through the eyes of the narrator, Diana - although it would have been nice to have seen things from the the viewpoint of other characters in the book.

All in all, a rather delightful picture of the many pitfalls of modern romance, traditional families, and class differences. But love prevails, ultimately ...

Summary: Predictable, easy summer reading
Review: This book was so predictable it could be read while sleepwalking. It's hard to like or admire the main character - a whimpy, whiny, insecure woman who two-times her fiance. We are somehow supposed to laugh along with her and find her whimsical. Word of advice - take it out of the library or borrow it from a friend. It's not worth the money.

Summary: Couldn't put this down!
Review: This book was terrific. As some people said, it was on the shallow side, but the characters are great, and the relationships are interesting, if underdeveloped. I would highly reccommend this book to anyone looking for something light and fun for a rainy afternoon.

Summary: Fluff
Review: This book was too fluffy and happily-ever-after for me. It had potential, but so much was glossed over. The characters were not really developed and there was no insight into why they did some of the things they did. One part that annoyed me was the part where she became "free" from her father and he couldn't hurt her anymore. Aside from some mention of him not liking her gifts, there is so little about their relationship. The ultimate outcome was so predictable it made me laugh. This book was an easy read, but it lacked substance. And those descriptions of the plots in the soap opera were really annoying.

Summary: A fun read, but hardly a great piece of modern lit
Review: This book was very enjoyable, but I thought the characterization could have been a little bit more developed. Thus, making the book a lot more longer. Also, some of the descriptions seemed to go on and on. However, I believe Diana's feelings toward her relationship with Phillip and desire to have more passion verses routine is very true among many people. I am looking forward to reading more books by Bartolomeo.
