Rating: Summary: Beautifully written, a book to treasure Review: Crowfoot Ridge is an excellent story written by a charming woman, Ann Brandt. She masterfully deals with difficult subject matter, taking her reader on an emotional ride. I rarely read new novels that I would recommend to my mother, a finicky reader at best, but this one I did. And she adored it. I am looking forward to the next novel by this author.
Rating: Summary: Many women share a similar tale. Review: Crowfoot Ridge may be described as one woman's story but it's a story mirroring many women's lives. Ann Brandt's strong sense of place and economy of style hold the reader's attention without condescension, offering a poignant portrait of the tyranny of long-held secrets and shame, and that yes, despite past unhappiness and the uncertainty of a cynical world, a happy ending is still a possibility. Please, Brandt, write again! A loyal reader.
Rating: Summary: Paragraph Poetry Review: Dear Ms. Brandt, Just tonight i have finally finished your wonderful novel entitled "Crowfoot Ridge". I can tell you now i have read many books, yours was very special to me. I live in South Carolina so it was a treat reading about the surrounding areas and being able to say to myself I've been there, or I've seen that place. I want to compliment you on your style of writing. You not only combined natural talent in creating a story but I found your words to be poetic at the same time. You combined two styles that I admire in writing, tall tale and poetry. Your words flowed together at times and created there own special paragraph poetry. It was lovely to read, I would recommend this book to anyone I come in contact with that shares a love of reading the way I do. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful talent. I will be looking foward to reading other works by you. Sincerely A New Fan, Amy J. Brown

Rating: Summary: What a good read! Review: I bought this book to read on a long flight. It started slow, so I put it down. I picked it back up after I got home and couldn't put it down again. There are so many twists and turns! The plot just kept getting thicker! The characters were easy to identify with and I could almost see their faces. I really enjoyed this book!

Rating: Summary: Everything Happens for a Reason, it may not be your fault. Review: I Gave it four stars, there weren't elements of humor in Crowfoot Ridge (an essential for me). The main characters are heartwarming and thoughtful. Most of all they all had a purpose in life, (whether the purpose is helpful or harmful). Substantial character development, logical un-overblown reasoning, and romantic were some of its elements.
Rating: Summary: This Gem must not go undiscovered! Review: I loved every minute of it and could not put it down. Ann Brandt does a great job of weaving in more than one basic plotline with strong characters that are complex and believeable. I also enjoyed the description of the North Carolina scenery. Ann Brandt uses such wonderful imagery that I felt as if I was right there. She also does an excellent job of pulling together the main plot as well as the sub-plots and bringing the book to a strong finish. This book is definately on my recommended reading list!
Rating: Summary: fascinating story of a unhappy Florida wife with a past Review: I met Anne Brandt at a writers conference (my first one). I cannot believe the hell she went through getting this book published. It is a wonderful story starting in Florida and ending in North Carolina. The scenery is described beautifully but the important part here is the story itself. I'm not giving away any of the plot but it is a book I couldn't put down. Oprah should pick this one up. My husband should pick this up. The tale feels real and is scary at times.
Rating: Summary: Many women share a similar tale. Review: I was so delighted to meet Ann Brandt in person at our local Barnes and Noble. At the time I found her personality delightful and her joy for writing contagious! As a writer myself, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with her and learn of the wonderful story behind her journey to publication and the miracle that made it a reality. I only wish I'd read the book before our talk. I would have loved to discuss this wonderful story with her! Finally, finally I found the type of story I've been dying to read! There was no evil ex-husband, just a simple growing apart that happens to so many. There was a wonderful ecology lesson and an addressing of a real life problem in our world. I always enjoy being made aware of true life problems that should bother all of us! Not only that, but wrapped within this was a powerful love story and a powerful lesson in finding true love. The writing was pure poetry and I read through it with lightning speed only to slow at the end simply because I didn't want to let these wonderful characters go. As a reader you will fall in love with Mars. The beauty of the setting as seen through Ms. Brandt's eyes will enchant you and allow you to wander through Avery's world with her. This is truly a 5 STAR delight and a must read! Thanks Ann! I can hardly wait to read your next novel! Sincerely, Mary Gauden Hughes
