Rating: Summary: A good story of Captain Janeway Review: One of the co-creators of Voyager, Jeri Taylor, is the author of this book, so it is a good guess that no one knows Captain Kathryn Janeway better than her. This is a great story, with seperate plots (one in the present, one in the past). Without giving the story away, I'll say that we learn the source of Janeway's strengths and some of her inner fears and weakneses. To sum this book up, it is entertaining, a book I would recommend to someone if they happened to come across it in a used bookstore, but not one to make a special trip to the bookstore for. But then again, I am more of a Next Generation kind of guy, so my comment is biased.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic.....I hated to finish!!! Review: I 100% enjoyed this novel! Jeri Taylor did a wonderful job. It was so very interesting to learn the background story of Captain Janeway. I never found a dull moment in this story. Nevr once did I want to skip a page.....I even reread some of it because I found it so compelling. When I watch Voyager now, I feel as though I know Janeway. I could hear her and see her in my mind as I read page after exciting page. I also read Pathways by Ms. Taylor....A MUST READ! Thanks to Jeri Taylor, I feel I have a hidden knowledge of Voyager's crew. I can only hope, that now the show is off the air, Jeri Taylor will continue to write us original Voyager novels. With authors such as Ms. Taylor, there is no reason we fans can't still enjoy Voyager. I for one hope to see more stories of my favorite Star Trek crew in print. And I hope to see Jeri Taylor's name on them as author!
Rating: Summary: I Love This Book!! It is a must Read!! Review: This was my first Voyager novel. Being a a fan of Voyager, the series, I was wondering if the book would give the show justice. And Jeri Taylor was excellent at doing so. Captain Janeway really becomes a real person as you read about her. It goes through from when she was four and till she becomes the captain we all "know" and love. I was so into this book I read It all in one night!! I could read it over and over....Well all I have to say is you wont regret getting this book at all. It's worth you money!
Rating: Summary: Amazing... Review: I was looking forward to reading "Mosaic". I had heard nothing but good reviews, so I purchased it and read it. Let me say now that this book was one of the best written Voyager stories I have read. It was emotional, and it kept me wanted to keep on reading non-stop. Kathryn Janeways's history is amazing, and through this compelling story, you really learn about it.The book was very interesting. It would alternate chapters, one would be the present, and one would be at a certain point in her history. The novel was like a book full of small stories, different increments of her life, as well as a continuing story during the present. I fyou ever awnted to know about her history, this is the book to read. It's concise, and accurate compared to the show. It shows all the important parts of her life-when she was a little girl, hiding under her father's desk-her first trip on a space ship-her first love, and may other stories. After reading Mosaic, I came to a new understanding of Kathryn Janeway. Jeri Taylor is a fantastic author. Because she work's for the show, she seems to grasp all the knowledge, and tie in information from the show into the book. It has lot's of episode references for those who watch the television series. Any true Star Trek fan must get a copy of this story! I give it five stars!
Rating: Summary: Taylor brings Janeway to life as only she and Mulgrew can. Review: I absolutely adored this book! Kathryn Janeway is my over-all favorite Star Trek character, and reading Mosaic was like crawling inside her mind and seeing the universe from her perspective. This book is a magnificent journey that takes the reader through the life of Janeway from early childhood to commanding a starship a lifetime away from home. The story explores Kathryn's strengths and weaknesses, her passions and her fears. Even her first love. It was so wonderfully Janeway that I could hear Kate Mulgrew's voice in my head speaking the lines as I read them. You can't read this book and not love Captain Janeway when you're finished. This novel depicts the warm and wonderful Janeway that we saw when Jeri Talyor wrote for the show in the earlier seasons. (Oh, how I miss her.) Taylor is a magnigicent author, and she proves it yet again with Mosaic.
Rating: Summary: No wonder Jeri wrote it Review: This book ties in ever so closely with the TV series, such as when her Dad dies (in the books), then when the alien posesses her taking the form of her father and telling her what happened in the book (this is on tv). I loved it. I'm trying to get a hold of the sequel, but this was so indepth, it does raise some questing, but overall great.
Rating: Summary: Worthwhile Reading Review: Very rarely are we allowed to enter into the psychological makeup of the characters that we are exposed to on the show. I really enjoyed the fact that we are able to understand the Janeway that we know, based on her past, her experiences and the relationships that she has forged. The story line is engaging, and although the Kazon are not my favorite nemesis, I was able to find myself thoroughly engrossed. Ultimately, the book is a wonderful read and culminates in the final page, where we can conjure up all the happenings in Janeways life in a few brief moments. If you liked Pathways, or would like to understand Janeway on a much deeper level, you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: Captain Janeway is one of my favorite characters on Voyager I read this book and couldnt put it down. I also got the audio cassete the book is much better. If you like Captain Janeway you will love this book.
Rating: Summary: 5 Star Worthy Review: Oh my God! I am a faithful Voyager fan and LUV Kathryn Janeway. There is just something about her character that intrigues me. My friend has this book (it's her only Voyager book) and she's been reading it since December. I also own this book, and I can find only one complaint. That Ms. Taylor didn't go into more detail about her life. Oh well. What she did go into was like peeking into a Christmas present before Christmas. You don't know what's in there but whatever it is is sure to be wonderful. This book shows the sides of Janeway that we've already seen in other characters. It shows her as a daughter, sister, lover, captain and student. I admit that I cry easily, so I was an emotional rollocoster with MOSAIC. * there are no Voyager fans where I live so if you're a fan and want someone to talk to please e-mail me!*
