Rating: Summary: best star trek book i've read, which isn't saying much. Review: Mosiac is by far the best star trek book that I have ever read, which isn't saying much because most star trek books suck, but this book is worthy of standing on its own as its own novel. I guess what makes it great is author Jeri Taylor, who understands Capt. Janeway and doesn't overwrite her like so many other star trek novelists, probably because she co-created and executived produced Star Trek: Voyager. The best Star Trek book that I've ever read, but not the best book that I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: MS. TAYLOR: GIVE US "SCORPION"!! (And soon!) Review: I'm only on Chapter Six, but I already know who my favorite "Voyager" author is! This woman is magnificent!!!!!! Please, please, somebody "high up there in the ranks" recruit Jeri Taylor to write the novelization of the episode "Scorpion"--I know that if they bothered to novelize "Day of Honor", they HAVE to novelize that one! ALL JERI TAYLOR FANS ARE WAITING! DO IT SOON!!!!
Rating: Summary: Easily readable and riveting. Review: I've never been a particularly big reader, quite frankly I never did see what other people found so enthralling about reading, until that is, I read Mosaic. I could not put it down. I bought the book because I liked the series and I think it sat on my shelf for about a year, but one day I picked it up and like I said, never put it down. It captured me totally and I was riveted the entire way through. As such, I have been constantly on the lookout for anything else Jeri Taylor has written. The book builds Janeway into a multi-dimensional character and any Star Trek fan, whether they are a reader or not, could not fail to enjoy this book. Can I give it six stars?
Rating: Summary: This is an awesome book! Review: This book does an excellent job of taking you through Captain Janeway's life. It leads you back to her academy days and even journeys into her private life. This book helps you to understand the character of Kathryn Janeway.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book! Review: Jeri Tylor has done a terrific job in both telling an intriguing story and characterizing the personality of Janeway.
Rating: Summary: An excellent introduction Review: MOSAIC is an excellent novelisation of the Voyager TV show, and who better to write it than the woman responsible for that, Jeri Taylor. MOSAIC has the accolade of being the first 'official' Star Trek novel, and the hence the only one that may be mentioned on the show. While I do agree there could be more background, on the whole the book is a throughly entertaining read and I highly recoomend it.
Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD BOOK BUT NOT ENTIRELY COMPLETE Review: IN MOSAIC, JERI TAYLOR TELLS THE STORY OF CAPTAIN KATHRYN JANEWAY, THE WOMAN WHO WAS DESTINED TO BE ONE OF STARFLEETS GREATEST CAPTAINS. THIS STORY WAS NOT TOTALLY COMPLETE HOWEVER. THERE WERE PARTS MISSING THROUGHOUT HER LIFE. I THINK THAT JERI TALYLOR SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER ENTIRE HISTORY INSTEAD OF SKIPPING AROUND, PLAYING LEAP FROG. I DO HOPE THAT JERI TAYLOR WRITES MORE, BUT INCLUDES MORE ALSO.
Rating: Summary: THE WONDERFUL STORY OF CAPTAIN JANEWAYS LIFE Review: In Mosaic, Jeri Taylor tells the story of Captain Kathryn Janeway, from her childhood to her adventures in space. Jeri Talor is the best Star Trek writer I know of and I hope she writes more.
Rating: Summary: I. Loved. It. Review: Just gotta gush! Jeri Taylor is my absolute favorite, and I know her writing style will be missed on the new season of Voyager. I hope she continues to pen the novels, because her stories are magnificent. We are given a clear view of Janeway in this book. The story may make a few leaps, but the path is still direct from child to captain - to television, in fact, because some of the "facts" in the book have been related on screen. I shall re-read often.
Rating: Summary: If you love her or hate her... Review: After reading Mosiac, the personality of Kathryn Janeway becomes clear. The character development was invaluable, if incomplete. The 'real time' plot was mildly enjoyable, but the the flashbacks are priceless. Highly recomended to anyone who watches the show or loves biographies. After this one, you'll have a tough time remembering she isn't real...
