Summary: Okay movie but it's extremely outdated
Review: I watched the director's cut version of Dawn of the Dead. This film's story is pretty good, but its technicalties are bad. The music, for example. It sounds too cheerful at times and that prevents us from feeling scared. The blood also looked like orange rather than red. None of the characters in the movie ever looked really terrified. The zombies also look very fake. For dead people those zombie's flesh should be rotting. It's basically a bunch of people wearing white makeup that doesn't even completely cover their face. All in all, this movie is better than the average horror film, but it is outdated. Hopefully, George Romero's Resident Evil will have realistic looking zombies with better music and a darker and scarier atmosphere than Dawn of the Dead.

Summary: Whoops, time for a remake Tom
Review: I doubt any requirements exist to force one to make an additional film that has 'Dead' in the title, but come on Savini, remake Dawn of the Dead!! I'd say do Day of the Dead again, but the environment was basically the same the whole movie. The Night of the Living Dead remake was great. Film it in the same mall with all of the changes that have come the past 2 decades, wow. It would be a bit hard to remake the film with actors that weren't "Scream"ish, as 'youth' and 'handsome' rule the movies these days, and making a remake of the film with "I Know What You Did Last Summer"ish actors would desecrate the trilogy by rule.. LOL, imagine the 360 degree camera work that "The Matrix" uses for a 'Dead' film hehe. "Tom Savini's Dawn of the Dead" WOWEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Summary: A STORY FOR THE BOOKS.
Review: My name is Chris Ivey. I've met Romero on a couple of occassions. One of my friends Michael had a harder time catching but when he did the reward was sweet. At end of the videotape during the fan signing, Mike Felsher, was one of the lucky people to get talked to. Look for a dark headed big boy with glasses.

Okay, that's my story.

Bye

Summary: Awesome Zombie Movie!!!
Review: Dawn of the Dead is a great zombie movie. It's got enough gore and freaky looking zombies to keep you interested. Once the main characters secure the mall, ridding it of all the zombies, the film takes you on a joy ride where you get to fulfill the fantasy of having your pick of anything and everything in the mall. It almost seems like fun until a gang of militant bikers ruins it for them. It left me wondering where the characters went after they left the mall in the helicopter.

Review: "This movie was so scary I pooped my pants and held my mommys hand." - C. Compton

Old Profeser Type: From the review of this movie, given by this darling boy, I have come to the conclussion that this film is unsutable for children under the age of 37. Be warned and visit the lavatory regularly.

Summary: Brilliant, but sometimes ridiculous.
Review: A far above average script (actually, Itallian horror master Dario Argento is said to have co-written with Romero), great acting, an effective, atmospheric music score (by the Goblins), and some cool gore effects make this one a winner. I just wish that Romero had made it a little darker (personal preference). It was quite apocolyptic, and the wide open area of the mall somehow seems claustrophobic, but sometimes the comic interludes break through a little too much - part of the reason I like Night better.

Summary: A Dated Gorefest
Review: I once viewed DAWN OF THE DEAD as something of a masterpiece when I first viewed it in the mid-80s. Having viewed this film again recently with the release of the director's cut, I have to say that this one doesn't really stand up that well. In fact, it looks rather dated. Romero's intelligence shines through in the above-average script and characterizations, but it's all the then-trendy 70s/80s gore effects that badly date the film. Makeup effects artist Tom Savini did wonders on a low budget, but the makup fx are so gaudy and over the top that they look rather cheesy. Every time the story gets interesting, there's a slew of garish gore effects that had me groaning and chuckling to myself, with the result that the film overall is uninvolving. This was once terrifying, and is now a cheesy chuckle. See the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD for a genuine exercise in how to build fear on a low budget.
