Rating: Summary: If you like exciting historical novels read Roar of Thunder! Review: I liked this book very much because Taylor made it easy for me to understand and easy to picture different settings in the book. Taylor is very good at describing the different settings.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes historical novels.
Rating: Summary: TO SUM IT UP GREAT Review: Taylor renders her writting ability near flawless in the novel "Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry". The story is about a family by the name of the Logans. They are a family that lived in the South during the 1930s. The South was a wretched place to be at the time period, and as a Black family the problems were just more evident. The novel takes the reader through various scences that were common to the time. For instance, Little Man was given a book handed down from White children and he refused to use it. This was a proud moment for me because it shows that Little Man was not ignorant to the issues if the time. My overall opinion on the novel was that it was worthy of acclaim. I enjoyed it and felt that the next book in the edition would equal the enjoyment of this novel. I suggest this book to anyone who wants to recreate the feeling of the 1930s.

Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK! So do all my class mates. Review: A very good, touching book about a black 4th grade girl and her 3 brothers growing up in the 1930s. In it, she is made fun of, and a friend, T.J., makes a mistake that ruined his life. And she is just starting to understand about prejudice.
Rating: Summary: This book was a great book!!!!! Review: I thought Roll of Thunder was a great book. I loved how it was written in southern dialect and you felt like you were there. I would rate it a 8 because it was kind of confusing. There were too many characters. I got them mixed up. I love Mildred D. Taylor's books and I want to read more of her books.
Rating: Summary: I thought it was one of the best books I've ever read. Review: I rated Roll of Thunder a 9 because it was well written but it had a slow beginning. I think more people should read this book because the author used tremendous amounts of descriptive phrases. I loved this book. The charecters were cool. The book makes me want to read more and more about the charecters. The ending was very detailed. I really want to know what happens.
