Summary: Solid product hurt by WindowsCE support
Review: Moved up from a Palm pilot profesional to the E-105. The product was very solid, the color excellent. The size was a little large but given the features a good tradeoff. I needed to sync the E-100 with two different PCs (Windows98 & WindowsNT). The sync with NT worked flawlessly but I was never able to sync (using Active Sync 3.0) on my Compact Presario (Windows98/Outlook2000). Customer service was never able to resolve the problem as to why it would not sync on Windows98/Outlook2000. Without the sync ability the usefullness of the product was eliminated and I had to go back to the Palm. Seems to be a good product with older software/systems (WindowsNT 4.0/Outlook98) but seems to lack compatibility with Windows98/Office2000 products. Most likely a WindowsCE problem, not a E-100 problem but the two are a package deal.

Summary: Win 2K
Review: My boss and I just upgraded to Windows 2000. During install, his CE device was found and configured automatically. I had to set up my Palm from scratch, which was a pain.

If you are considering going to Win2K soon, I would choose this device over a Palm.

Summary: I Love mine
Review: My E-100 does everything I want it to do. The handwriting recognition is like learning a new language, but the notepad more than makes up for it. Batteries stay charged a long time. Screen colors are great. Got mine used for (...)and it is a better machine than most of my co-workers have. It's slightly bigger and heavier than a Palm, but does SOOO much more. I would recommend it to a friend or family member

Summary: Eye and Ear Candy
Review: Not much more to say about the E-105 that hasn't been said. Though I really bought it for the PIM organizational features, the ability to play MP3s, Microsoft WMAs, and the video playback features are a lot of fun. Using maps is a joy. Reading the bright, clear screen is bliss. Speed is adequate, and the flexibility of Windows CE makes this the palmtop to beat. Casio Japan has released a compact flash camera for the E-100 that allows you to take photographs and short videos...if that product is released here, the "cute" multimedia features will take on new strength and meaning. Get one today!

Summary: Throw Away that Palm Pilot
Review: Palm Pilots may have broken the ice for the PDA markets, but products like the Cassiopeia E-100 are sure to bring mobile computing into the mainstream. I particularly liked the color screen and ability to play with some multimedia. However, Casio's proprietary video format is not supported anywhere. The product would be greatly improved by adding some streaming audio/video content that could be pulled off the web through some kind of hookup with a cell phone. All in all the CE functions of calendar, contacts etc. meet or exceed those of Palm. The addition of color and multimedia make this a far superior product. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Quality but still missing something
Review: The Casio Cassiopeia is a fine product. I enjoyed the time while I owned it. I took it back because of Windows CE. Several of the applications have no way of closing them. They don't have a close option in the file menu nor do they have the "X" box in any of the four corners. This was very annoying because it made you go to the equivalent of the close programs dialog box (like hitting alt-ctrl-del) every time you wished to close these programs.

Things I did like were the voice recorder. I also enjoyed Outlook and the other MicroCrap applications. Sometimes MicroCrap suprises me.

Summary: Great mp3/vid player but NOT a good game system.
Review: The cassiopeia E-100 is a great mp3 and video player! (very easy to use the win CE player) All you have to do is go to casio's website and look up E-100 and they have a link to Microsoft's download page for the winmedia player for CE.
After that you just install the player on the cassiopeia; drag and drop all the mp3s you want in to the /my documents folder and when you run out of space on your E-100 just get a compact flash card (DIRT CHEAP on EbAy) and drop it into the expansion slot and your ready to go! The only
problem with it is there is ALOT of problems loading games on it
so if your looking for a "gameboy/pda" get a Palm IIIc (I also have a Palm IIIc and that is a GREAT game system but that cant play mp3s)

Summary: Good product, poor support
Review: The E-100 is a good product but limited by the terrible support from Casio. None of the support numbers that come with the E-100 give access to a human for ordering purposes. It is impossible to find a modem for this so that one can access the internet. It is impossible to order anything via Casio's 800 numbers, brochures or online site. I have never been so frustrated in trying to spend money to upgrade a product only to be met by resistance by a company that doesn't want my money.I will never buy another Casio product after this experience.

Summary: lacks software online...but an amazing product
Review: the software it comes with is a bit crude, but hopefully we'll get more online. Being a new product it's expected, but should be a hit......my advice.....buy it.....but surf for shareware

Summary: The great, but inconvenient item
Review: Think about it. Sure this item could fit into your coat pocket, but how useful would it be? You'd have to squint to see the screen, and it wouldn't be as useable as a Laptop or a PC
