Review: this is the official guide this also means that Disney has a hand in it. The negative comments are kept to a min. If you want the real scoop buy the Unofficial guide it has all of the information in this book plus a great deal that Disney doesn't really want you to know. I love Disney, we went for 4 vacations there last year and are going again in Feb and May.

Review: This book gives official info from Disney. If you want actual objective reviews, tour guides, and tips that the Disney cast won't tell you, look into the Unofficial Guide to WDW. This book might be a nice companion book, but it shouldn't be your first or only Disney guide.

Summary: I THINK THIS BOOK IS NECESSARY...BUT...
Review: I think you need to balance this book with "the unnofficail guide". This book is "the world according to Disney" Only. And while it is very very very helpful there are hints and tricks and tips that it doesnt address. It also isn't entirely helpful if you want to stay off of the property or judge "value" of Disney packages and products. That said, I still think it is a necessesity. There are coupons (but they are DATED!), insider information, phone numbers, addresses, descriptions, etc. This book is especially helpful if you are spending your entire vacation at the Disney property... If your looking for info about what meal may not be worth the price..or might not be good... this book isnt going to tell you. It is entirely PRO-DISNEY! That might not be a bad thing Disney is a great place...but you do need some balance.

Summary: The Happiest Place on Earth!
Review: This is THE BOOK to bring with you to Orlando, and WDW! We travel there each summer to stay for 35 days, on property! We always buy the Birnbaum's guide, just to see all the new happenings and insider info! It has spectacular colored pictures of the attractions, and the resorts. It lists current specials and prices, just about everything you'll need to know is inside this book. In the back of the book, is a page of valuable coupons! Using the coupons-makes the book FREE! It's also a wonderful souvenier to keep and look back upon...after your wonderful journey into the "magic" of the WORLD that is DISNEY! If you are even "contemplating" a trip to the most popular vacation spot in the Country...you'll be wise to buy this book. P.S. "Have a Magical Day"

Summary: Birnbaum's WDW is the ultimate guide to doing Disney!
Review: We've been traveling to Walt Disney World yearly since 1996 and haven't started an itinerary without first consulting Birnbaum's guides. They contain everything you need to know about taking a trip to the world. Whether you're a rookie or a seasoned veteran, Birnbaum's guide will bring you up-to-date on all that's new and different at Walt Disney World. Something is always being added or enhanced at WDW and this easy to follow book with it's colorful graphics is one of the best sources of information on planning a magical Walt Disney World vacation.

Summary: Good book, but some serious stuff is not up to date.
Review: Great source. I did find out that one thing is not up to date. If you get sick, the In-Room medical services listed are wrong. DOCTORS ON CALL SERVICE (407)492-9595 is the only service available 24 hours a day, to have doctors visit your hotel room. They did a great job,but they aren't even listed in the book. Centra Care is only available until 6 PM, and MediClinic wasn't even available for house-calls. This needs to be updated, so sick people can get help.

Summary: Take it from a WDW Veteran...This Book is a MUST!!
Review: My family began using Birnbaum's Guide to WDW in 1983 and, between us all, I believe we have every edition since!! Although the youngest member of our immediate family is now 22, we still plan family trips to WDW as often as possible. And, now with the addition of the next generation, we buy the guides to lay out a plan that will be enjoyable for all ages! We even buy the guide during the years that we don't have a trip to the World planned...just to keep up with the changes. The Birnbaum guides have become a collectible with our family...even though we are now spread across the country, we can pick up one of our Birnbaum books and relive fond memories while planning for future ones to come! This book is definitely a must for WDW first-timers and veterans alike.

Summary: The most informative up to date WDW book on the market today
Review: I have been using the Birnbaum WDW books since 1995 and have always found them to be filled with accurate information. I plan our family trips totally around this book and it has proved to save us a lot of hassle and frustrations. From what the weather will be like, to what to expect in a ride, to where to find the Characters and where to share a meal with them, this book has it all. It offers a whole variety of information. I cannot stress enough how awesome this book really is. I am waiting on the Birnbaum 2000 as we have a vacation planned for Christmas '99. Disney World is a family favorite and I am so glad I have the Birnbaum Book to help me plan the most magical vacation possible every time we go! Remember too, it is the "Official Guide." There are other books out there but NONE compare to this one. If you are planning a WDW trip, don't make the mistake of doing it without Steve Birnbaum!

Review: I've been to Disney World four times, and this guide, being new every year, has helped me every time! I have looked through other guides to Disney World, but obviously the official one is always the best! This book is definately worth the money even if you're going a 2nd or 3rd time!
