Summary: made me ashamed that I had actually read it
Review: I read this book. When I first picked it up, I honestly thought that I had mistakenly purchased a copy for those readers who are visually impaired! The type was so large and the margins on the page were huge! As I contined to read, I realized why: Nicholas Sparks has nothing to say. He is riding the wave of the Bridges of Madison County, "romance lite" books -- those kind of small, shallow books that is taking advantage of American readership these days. He knows our attention spans aren't what they used to be, that we're not really that bright and certainly don't like to be challenged intellectually, so he is laughing at us all the way to his bank while publishing this fiction that passes off for books. This was the most revolting, insulting book I have ever read, and actually made me ashamed that I invested the time and money to read it.

Summary: This Book is AWESOME!!!!!!
Review: OMG this book is soooo awesome. i went to my local Border's to browse and i found this lying on the shelf in the young adult section. i couldn't put it down, and it took me about an hour 1/2 to read. i smiled, laughed, and cried. In the prolouge, it says- "First you'll smile, and then you'll cry- don't say you haven't been warned." Yes, even the toughest of guys will feel their heart break at the end of this wonderul, heartfelt novel about true love. Believe me, you WILL cry. it's soooo sad at the end when...... well won't give it away, but who hasn't seen the movie (me) well i've heard mixed reviews bout the Shane West/ Mandy Moore movie. hope its as good as the book.....
READ IT!!!!!!

Summary: A beautiful story and a tear jerker
Review: I've read all of Nicholas Sparks books and I have several books that I pick up again and again. After the heart-tugging read that was "The Notebook" I didn't think Nicholas Sparks would make a better book... but I was wrong. "A Walk to Remember" is a simple love story that in the beginning will make you laugh and in the end make you cry. Of all of the books Sparks' has written, this is easily his best one.

In Beaufort, North Carolina, 1959, Landon is in his senior year in high-school. Landon hangs out with the popular crowd, getting into mischief with his friends. Jamie Sullivan is in the same grade but the complete opposite. She has no friends of her own but the townspeople in the small town of Beaufort adore her! When both their paths cross Landon and Jamie begin to discover things about each other...and themselves. Landon isn't such a bad kid and Jamie isn't exactly "Ms. Perfect." Soon the two become intwined in a loving relationship.

The story of "A Walk to Remember" may seem simple at first but the more attatched Landon and Jamie become to each other, the more attatched you become to the characters. You grow to be interested in Landon and Jamie and just what gives them chemistry since they're the complete opposite of each other. Landon is a trouble maker, Jamie the ministers daughter and all around "Do-gooder".

While romance is different each time the book is an enjoyable read that you just can't put down. The characters shine and Sparks' does an excellent job in the build up of his characters.

Where the tear-jerker comes in is where it enters in most love stories, the end. In the end the book will leave you in tears. Not only that but because the love story was crafted so brilliantly, you'll want to read it again and again!

"A Walk to Remember" is easily one of the greatest books Sparks' has ever written. A beautiful love story that comes to a tragic end. But it shows that love does exist and that it can strike anyone at any time and of any chemistry. A great read, don't miss out.

Summary: So much better tha the movie
Review: I saw the movie first and then read the book and the book is so much better than the movie! It also has a lot of differences in the plot. The movie isn't even really based on the book, its more inspired by it with the same outcome. Also, the book is set in the 50's.

It'll seriously make you laugh and make you cry. Not even all that long, but has a great message to send across.

Summary: Unspected twist in life
Review: A walk to remember, is an extraordinary and touching book. It is a sweet and romatic tale of young love. This tale deals with the pain and joy that two adolescents go through. This is a very sad and depressing story, that you won't soon forget.
This story is about a girl named Jamie and a guy named Landon.Landon was a popular kid in school, on the other hand Jamie was a very shy girl.Landon dated many girls in school, he even came to think that he was in love with one of them, and he soon found out that they are not what he wanted. He then suddenly fell for Jamie the girl he would never hoped to fall for. Jamie made him see the world as it is. There lives were great even though Jamie's father was not happy with their relationship.
One day Jamie fainted, she was taken to the hospital. While in the hospital she was told that she had leukemia. After this surprising announcement, Jamie's and Landon's life changed because Jamie could no longer do some of the things she used to do. Jamie was suffering occasionaly hair lost and dizziness. Landon always stood by her side supporting her in everything that he can. He did many things to make her happy. He once took like four days to try to build her a telescope, which was what she always hoped for. As the days passed she felt weaker and her and Landon felt more in love.
One day Landon proposed marriage to Jamie, with her father's approval. After a few days they both got married in church. They lived very happily. Landon dedicated most of his time caring for Jamie until her death a few years later.
I would recommend this tragic yet spiritual love story to anyone who could handle situations like this. This story starts calm and after Jamie discovered she had leukemia, which was the turning point in the story, the story becomes very tense.

Summary: Ugh!
Review: I read this for a book group, and we generally agreed that it was terrible. Not Sparks' best work, emotionally manipulative, and not even very well written. The foreshadowing was as subtle as a brick on a 3-layer chocolate cake. On a more personal note, I myself could do with a lot less god in a novel, and a whole lot less deus ex machina. If you're the kind of person who gleefully embraces the kind of emotional manipulation that characterizes both Hallmark TV Movies and Hallmark commercials, then this is right for you. Otherwise, it's a good one to skip entirely. I give it 1 star because you can read it in less than 3 hours if you're a fast reader, so at least the agony is over soon.

Summary: Even Better Than the Movie!!!
Review: This splendid novel written by Nicholas Sparks has once again taken my heart utterly after the Message in the Bottle(by Nicholas Sparks as well). While YOU may regard this book simply as another sticky romance story, I read it and was on my knees crying for the saddest and most sensational outcome of the story.
Nicholas Sparks wrote this story as though as he is telling a tale; it¡¦s casual and gives a sense of etherealness. He casually leads the reader through the sceneries and to a point of climax where the Landon Carter decides to marry the love of his life Jamie Sullivan who is also dying from leukemia. This book is inevitably the most tear-earning novel I have ever read followed by Message in the Bottle. The greatest lesson I learned from this book isn¡¦t the heroic sacrifices for love, but from the character Jamie Sullivan. She loves life and tried to live her last bit of life to the fullest. Her passion for life is the greatest lesson for all of us. Jamie is the most cheerful person that I have ever known; she is so cheerful that it almost seems saintly and ethereal. She possesses the greatest affinity with people that I have ever seen. Jamie¡¦s entire life was a misunderstanding for everybody. This thought-to-be-eccentric girl ended up loved and felt sympathetic towards to by everyone.
After reading this heart-reaching novel by Nicholas Sparks, I put the book down and went up to my parents to tell them how much I love them. Yes, this is how magical this novel is. It leads you to a realization of how temporary things can be, and thus having the urge to show your love and passion in every possible way. Read this novel and find out the amazing things it could do to you!

Summary: Young Love
Review: The book, by far is amazingly better than compared to the movie made based on the book. I had always been a reader, and I lost my love through reading over a three year period of time. By reading this book, I gained the love back, so this book was definatly a conversion point for me. Every young adult should pick a copy of this book to read it, to share what true love is about. One of the best.

Summary: Super Story!
Review: This book was truly remarkable! I saw the movie when it first came out but after just finishing the book, I loved the book more. It really is a tear jerker, a great rainy/snowy day read. The story line was just wonderful. I would recommend this book to many others and will read it again soon!

Summary: Heart Aches
Review: Have you ever had your heartstrings pulled so hard that you tear up and whimper inside? I have... this is because of the wonderful modern day romance novel, A Walk to Remember written by Nicholas Sparks. Landon Carter, the seventeen year old, city boy protagonist gets very confused about life and especially love. He thinks he has fallen in love several times. Landon Carter learns what true love is. He falls in love with Jamie Sullivan, the minister's daughter. Also known as the class "geek" and "weirdo" because she helps everyone she can. Is helping people really a crime? By falling in love with Jamie, Landon finds out the true, kind, wonderful person Jamie is inside. Landon Carter deals with a devastating conflict about love. He becomes truly hurt deep down inside when he finds out his one and only true love has leukemia. Will Landon reject Jamie because he feels so guilty about being so healthy yet she's dying? Some people back right away when they find out about their loved one being deathly sick. Is this because of their own fear or because they are greedy and only want the best from their loved one?
Nicholas Spark's romance novel is a wonderful book. I really enjoyed reading it. I loved that the story was based on how a seventeen year old found his first true love, but it wasn't too gushy. I thought that Nicholas Sparks showed how Landon had many different emotions. For example, Landon fell in love with Jamie and showed lots of affection, and after he felt so upset when he found out Jamie had leukemia. Nicholas Sparks made you not want to put down the book but keep turning the pages. I liked how I felt the emotions that were going on inside of Landon. I saw every image that went inside his head, the regrets that he felt, and finally, every tear that fell down on his face. Nicholas Sparks made me laugh, cry and enjoy his wonderful romance novel. I don't think anything in the story itself should change. Although, I do have one thing that I didn't like. I didn't like how Jamie had to die, but then again that was part of this wonderful romance novel.
