Summary: Anarchy Online = Poor Excuse for an MMORPG
Review: Let sum it all up by saying this - Spend your money elsewhere.

Initially, AO may seem like a good game. You may even play for the first couple days and think this is the greatest game to ever grace your monitor, but the more you learn...the more you notice how Funcom operates. Its obvious they have no clue what they are doing, every patch to this day has attempted to fix major flaws within the game system, and rather than solve the problem...they introduce more problems. Three months after release they realize, Oh...this particular class does 20X the amount of damage it was supposed to do, so we had to adjust the damage. Ya right, 20x damage seems like an obvious mistake which should be picked up in BETA, not well after people have been paying for it. This is just one example of MANY. You may here other players saying "This game is great, dont listen to the whiners"...well, they are the minority here. The truth is, there are only a small handfull of players that have been here since the beginning that still have faith in FU-Com. The rest of us have either moved on to other games, continued to play until something better comes out....or spend their energys spreading their negative opinions on messageboards. Oh, theres always that 1% thats in denial (ie...AO has potential! It will get better!) - ya right..

Buy a dart board, or a book....subscribe to Gardening Weekly, just whatever you do....DONT BUY THIS GAME! Funcom doesnt deserve your support.

Summary: Anarchy Online !!
Review: This is the best MMORPG to date..Gorgeous graphichs that makes your characther almost smell the grass and the air he breaths,

Alas FunCom have had a rough start bugs bugs and countless patching and creating some new ones when patches beeing released. They also had numerous of people that think exploiting is ok and when they get stopped they tend to get angry thus spreding ill rumors about this wonderful game !!

But at todays date they have ruled out almost all bugs and the game is stable as any other,,They also managed to catch the worst exploits,,FunCom has really done an impressive work with the game since beta, working both night and day !!

This is an absolute winner MMORPG

Note: The only sad part is that you really need a monster machine to run this game at full beaty..atlest 600Mhz and 512 RAM and a powerful graphics card,,If you have this mascine you will have a blast,,else stay away until you uppgraded

Summary: Dont do it yet
Review: I, as one of the players on AO since Beta4 (there are many), would say to customers DO NOT BUY THIS GAME yet. It isn't very playable, and there is not alot of content yet to boot. Wait for a couple months and if FunCom is still around and AO has dropped in proce by at least 15 bucks, then pick it up and hope you can play it. Good luck. I just cancelled my account to AO the other day along with countless others.

Summary: Lots of potential
Review: I have lots of fun playing AO with friends in my guild.

Summary: The game is a fraud.
Review: I am embarassed I coerced my family and friends to buy this game. They are "all" mad at me for doing so. I am pretty mad at myself after having played it for a month.

The lag is truly awful. The game is terribly bug ridden. It is riddled with exploits. There is "no" class balance. The PVP is totally broken. With every patch they introduce more problems than they previously had.

Their customer service is sickening. This is no exxageration... when you send a petition you can expect a 3-day wait for a reply from a gm. So yeah if you are stuck in one of their buggy walls you might aswell kill yourself because there is no online support.

If an item poofs or morphs into a wet noodle... too bad.

Now on to the good parts of the game.

ummmm

Ok thats my review.

Summary: I Really Enjoy This Breath of Fresh Air
Review: The first few months were rough and there was one questionable patch introduced since release, but other than that the game works quite well for me. There is plenty of gorgeous scenery and lots of places to visit. The story line will start soon and some much needed content will be introduced. I enjoy the character development as well as the Quality Level system for Weapons and Armor. Weapons and armor have requiments on them which keeps powerful items out of the hands of lower levels. Well done Funcom!

Summary: AO - The genesis of malignant cancer
Review: If you want to buy a game that will cause you utmost physical and psychological trauma, then by all means purchase this software. I single-handly cured my ulcers by quitting this game, the game is that much of a life-saver! Anyway, Funcom is doomed. I hope they burn in bad programming hell for this insidious virus that they spread across the PC game mainstream. This game cannot be classified as per a normal "game". Lets just put this in layman's terms. Games need to be functional to be classified as games. AO doesn't have that sort of functionality, so lets just say that was wrong as classifing this as a PC game. Let's just classify this as a box with pretty colors, with a compact disc that contains very superior virus and bug programming. I don't even want to go into the actual gameplay, since my physchiatrist wants me to have at least 5 more years in therapy before I deal with the traumatizing experiences that it caused me. And if I actually did want to talk about the gameplay, it would be very hard since my mind repressed those god-awful memories pretty well. Thank god for pyschological protective mechanisms. Abandon all hope, ye who buy this "game".

Review: I played in the beta, but still gave them a chance in the public release.

What you will encounter...

1. Lack of support
a. In Game: petitions generally go unanswered, unless you beg the various chat channels to help you by petitioning as well. If you do get you petitioned answered the response time ranges from 1 day to 2 weeks.
b. Emails to support: They will generally answer your email (if you are fortunate..they ignore these as well) with a form response which my experience will not be related to your issue

2. Lack of direction
When a game is released, it is normal for certain "Classes" to be adjusted to make game play more fair. Usually this changes are fairly minor. In 4 patches, they have had 4 class ending changes. Major balancing should have been done in beta, not public release.

3. Bugs
With every patch they may fix 4 or 5 bugs, but introduce 10-15 more.

4. Censorship
When they release from beta they "accidentally" deleted their message board. A few days before the European release they decided to censor it entirely. For every one positive post about the game there were atleast 50-200 negative posts, but of course they didn't want their new market to see them.

On the positive side, the graphics are nice eye candy...but with the issues above..I as well as many many others would not renew their subscription or recommend this to a friend.

Some of funcom's fansites have actually shut down do to these issues.

Summary: Buggy, Boring, Broken
Review: I Cant recommend this game. Fortunately I left the game before funcom started to introduce more bugs.
The game was extremely unstable for the first 2 weeks so much so crashing every five minutes was about par for the course. The poor coding of the game eats memory and did until I quit playing, that was 2 months in. Had to reformat my hard drive to fix the files this memory hog corrupted.
In the beginning the game really showed promise, but after running mission after mission after mission, it became extremely boring. How boring? play 500 games of tic tac toe that should give you an idea.
Moving in cities? it's a joke and still is. standing in one spot for 3 to 5 minutes, that takes patience.
Hunting? the game is so huge, it seems virtually empty.
Exploring? When I explored, the zones looked flat, dead, and nearly featureless.
Storyline? there is none, and the one funcom is proposing will only actually run about 7 months out of the year.
Customer service? None. Not bad mind you NONE. If you have a problem, you had better just grin and bear it, as you will not recieve a response.
Tradeskills? Horribly broken, currently there are only 1 or 2 things a player can do that is at all worthwile.
I quit BEFORE all these new bugs were introduced, and from what I am reading it's only gotten worse.
Never before have I bought a piece of software that was such a total waste of my money.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: To each their own.
Review: Despite it's problems I actually enjoy this game. Sure as hell beats the current offerings on the market (AC, EQ, UO, etc...)
