Summary: Don't listen to that person below.
Review: The person that said that they can't beleive amazon is selling this video, screw them you will make lots of sales with it, im going to buy it for christmas on Amazon.com.The movie is awsome from the clips I saw,the cannibalism and torture scenes are amazingly realistic and gruesome, looks like a snuff film but then again the film crew would be in jail or something. This goes to the unsatisfied viewer below, if they or others that agree with them think the same i have something to tell you. Whatever you do there will always be violence in this world, you can't stop that. Also why would you search for a movie that you hate so much such as this, it makes no sense at all. Why would you even watch a movie like this in the first place, look at the title and cover.Well im supporting it.But just because you buy a movie like this does not mean that you are supporting animal cruelty, nor snuff. I rest my case!

Summary: I am snoring.....zzzzzzzz
Review: This has got to be the most boring, stupid, and non-violent movie ever. I feel so cheated by the title. On the back of the cover it says "98 on the vomit meter". Whatever, I say "98 on the sleeping meter". The only considerably "GRAPHIC" part is the breast impalement. Even that was so-so. Trust this TRUE HORROR fan, if you want graphic violence, watch "ORGAN" or "EVIL DEAD". At least they have bodily dismemberment. Once again Cannibal Ferox very weak, I was thoughly dissapointed.

Summary: Not the origional, nor the best Italian Cannibal movie.
Review: Look up Ruggero Deodato's works, they are very rare because they are still banned everywhere, including Italy, except for, apparently, Holland. They are unbelievably realistic, especily Cannibal Holocaust. This is the movie that Cannibal Ferox is often mistaken for, but believe me if you can find this movie and or do a little research on it, you will see what I mean. Oh, and by the way you'll see where the idea for The Blair Witch Project came from, almost 20 years before.

Summary: This movie is total trash
Review: Torturing & killing innocent animals for entertainment is disgraceful! There is enough cruelty in the world directed toward innocent animals, we do not need such a negative video like this being sold to the public. It is a known fact that most sereal killers begin with animal abuse before moving on to humans. A video like this only has a negative influence on society & is very much equal to Amazon.com selling "snuff videos" - videos which film actual people being assassinated. I am extremely disappointed in Amazon.com's decision to sell this kind of violence to the public. Rest assured that I will no longer do business with Amazon.com & I will urge my friends, family & co-workers to do the same.

Summary: good dvd, interesting movie
Review: The DVD itself is a very satisfying package - we get commentaries, a beautiful transfer. Whether the film itself really has any merit depends on personal taste really. For my money, this is not a patch on Deodato's excellent Cannibal Holocaust, which is just as gory and a hell of a lot more realistic, with believable actors and an intelligent script. In comparison, Ferox seems like just an exploitative rip-off. But taken in its own terms, Cannibal Ferox does deliver the goods (I'm talking gore-wise) with hard-to-watch sexual violence accompanying genuine animal deaths. The music is cheesy, and again not up to the standards of Holocaust, but it grows on you.

Overall, this Holocaust rip-off is obviously a must-buy for italian cannibal/gore fans (legions ahead of rubbish like Eaten Alive etc). People new to the genre may do best to check out Cannibal Holocaust (availible on import from europe) first, as it is cinematically far better although harder to watch. But if you're in the mood for a little mindless gore, and don't mind certain scenes looking a tad unrealistic not to mention the laughable dialogue, you could do far worse.

Summary: A good transfer to DVD for a classic exploitation film
Review: Cannibal Ferox is one of the most infamous & notorious films, and its transfer to DVD is accomplished. The film is about a woman, her brother and another female companion, who venture into the Amazon region to study cannibalism. While there they meet a drugged-up crazy guy and his friend (on the run having stole money from a drug gang in New York) who have previously terroised the natives. Then the natives seek revenge, and the unfortunate trio are in the thick of it.

The gory bits include 'Mike's Member Whacked and Eaten' (that's how the scene is described on the DVD chapter menu) and chapter 44: 'Pat Hangs Out', a woman is hung up by hooks through her breasts, plus chapter 45: 'Brain Hors d'Oeuvres', Mike has the top of his head sliced off and his brain eaten.

The DVD is well presented. The menus are good. When you open one menu you are presented with Mike having his head chopped off, then put back on by a cannibal's spear. Also included is an interview with director Umberto Lenzi, although he speaks mostly Italian in it, even though he is questioned in English. There is also a commentary track from Lenzi and John Morghen, who plays Mike, who admits he hates the film. There is an excellant lengthy segment showing stills, posters and photos took making the film. It rolls automatically at a nice pace, a neat idea. There is even a hidden easter egg showing the film being shown at a theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, with interviews with some fans of the film. The picture is in widescreen and clear, and the sound in stereo is good, especially during the electro music scenes. All in all, a good DVD transfer of a pure exploitation film.

Summary: One of the best gore movies ever made
Review: This was actually one of the first "gore" films I ever saw and I have to say that it still scares the hell out of me...despite (or maybe because of) it's bad acting and cheesy gore-effects the film is pretty realisitic in it's "good Indian turned bad by white man's sins" theme...in this respect the film is almost political and touches on the sensitive topic of racism...what would happen if "white" man drove all of the world's minorities to these extremes? I really enjoyed this particular release because of the theatrical trailers, still photography, and other "extras" also included...a must see for horror/gore fans...YOU WON'T BELIEVE YOUR EYES!

Summary: Cannibal Ferox
Review: ...The gore and violence in this movie is so incredibly realistic yourjaw drops with admiration and astonishment. Lenzi's City of theWalking Dead contained cheesy violence effects; not this movie....

Summary: Shocking
Review: You probably won't be as offended as you think you will. The scenes of gore are mostly well handled, if sometimes a little cheesy. As for the so called scenes of 'animal cruelty', they are no worse than what you can see on the dicovery channel. The one scene where the turtle is is cut up is horrible but the natives then eat it, this goes on in the jungle all the time, it's part of everyday life for them.

Quite a laugh!

Summary: CRUELTY, NOT ENTERTAINMENT
Review: This is quite a good film, although the special effects let it down- it's definately not in the same league as Cannibal Holocaust. Don't watch this film expecting to be disgusted, because you probably won't be, but it is enjoyable, and John Morghen is a cool actor. However, I thought that the scenes of animal cruelty were unacceptable- torturing and killing animals to provide entertainment is indefensible. By the way, did you know that after the scene where the anaconda ate the little mammal thing(Ican't remember what sort of animal it was), the film crew cut open the anaconda and saved the mammal, though for some reaon Lenzi wasn't happy that this happened.
