Summary: Great product - puts others in price range to shame
Review: Firstly there is a lot of misinformation in some of the negative reviews. This DVD player plays EVERY format (-r, +r -r/w +r/w)). Just check out the expert reports on dvdrhelp.com.
As far as the sound it is as good or better than $400 portables.

Someone else said it was not true widescreen. Lol, please. that person probably had a movie that had been letterboxed (widescreen with the top/bottom black bars as part of the video stream). People should understand terms before making comments.

In fact this is a widescreen whcih plays widescreen dvd's perfectly and pan/scan (3x4) with black bars on sides as expected with all widescreens.

Now that that debunking is finished to the positives: this unit has an exceptional side veiwing angle. this means if you put it on your center console of your vehicle it will be viewable and present a good picture to all three rear seats. The firmware is also among the most robust and feature rich of any portable, including those at twice the price.

All in all this is an exceptional player.

Summary: Good one
Review: I looked for a portable DVD player for a long time and at last i purchased this thing in Walmart for 218$ (for that price it's not even bad to try noname company). Overall i'm satisfied with the player,
Pros:
Light, big enough screen, good package with extras, a lot of formats played (.jpg, .mpeg, .mp3, .wma).
Cons:
Some buttons and switches are kinda flimsy, it might look like it will break in some 3 years. Might not as well though. I didnt have any problems with my dvd's, but sometimes it doesn't play some mpg's. Big battery time is small too.
Some nice features like slide shows are cool too. Great thing for its price.

Summary: Cheaper through Walmart.com
Review: I got this for $218 through Walmart.com and their version includes the case, car adaptor, headphones, shoulderstrap, output cords, ect. Great product. I was surprised Amazon hadn't beat them by the usual 10% to 15% that I normal expect from Amazon.

Summary: Not worth the low price
Review: Although this unit may appear to be the best value available, I would not reccommend it. I bought it without reading any reviews on it's performance. In the package was every accessory one would want and need to enjoy a portable unit. The picture quality was very good - however, the sound quality from the built-in speakers was worse than an old $5.00 mono AM radio. You can just hear it at full volume and it sounds like radio static. (Unfortunately, I read this on many of the internet buyer reviews after I made the purchase. I returned it for an Audiovox unit which was the same price, but with less accessories. The audiovox sounded fantastic and feels like it will hold up much longer than the Cyberhome. The controls and housing of the cyberhome felt very cheap and fragile, while the audiovox felt like it can be used by younger children without easily breaking.

Summary: Great Product
Review: I am very impressed with this CyberHome portable dvd player. It is one the best gifts i have ever gotten and i am a gadget nut and have many unique gadgets and this is my new favorite now. It has a great picture, great sound ( especially on the headphones) and is very easy to use. It has many diffrent features and you can play cd's, mP3 and dvd's and mine came with its own carrying case. You can take this anywhere , car ( it comes with hangers so you can attach it anywhere you want to in car), airplane or anywhere you want! or you can just lay in bed and hook it up into the wall and watch movies that way. It also has another feature where you can hook it up to the tv. This is an amazing product and I highly recomend it. Worth the money.

Summary: OK For The Price
Review: This is an OK DVD Player for the price. But it is driving my family crazy. It is extremely sensitive about the disk being absolutely clean - difficult with a 5-year old. It often has problems loading the DVD - and sometimes will never play it. Even brand new disks may not play - my daughter's new "Sleaping Beauty" disk will not load up. I, (Dad) seem to be the only one who can get it to work most of the time. Oh, and don't bump the player during playback, the screen goes completely black, with the sound still playing and you have to disconnect power and start over. Good things: Very nice screen and battery life seems to be good for 3+ hours.

Summary: For your information
Review: For those who has bought this unit, potentially, you can make it region free. Here is the code:
1. Turn on the player.
2. Open the tray.
3. Press Stop.
4. Enter 1, 9, 9, 9 in order, and one at a time.
5. You should now be in a hidden menu. You can change region code to all, but not disable Macrovision

Summary: Looks great, sounds great, but...
Review: This product looks great and the sound is good, but the quality is terrible. I purchased this for my daughter and it worked fine for about 2 days. After that you could play a movie, but if you wanted to change disks it would not be able to read the disk. It seems if it warms alittle and you change disk it will tell you that there is no disk. I'm taking it back. The APEX that I purchased for my other daughter works great so far and has even better sound. Sound is the biggest complaint I have heard of on most portable DVD players

Summary: Awesome product....so far!
Review: I thought about this one long and hard after reading all the reviews. I specifically wanted a player for my 8 and 14 year olds for car trips.
I decided to buy it locally, in case I did have problems. I went to Frys and found it cheaper ($220) than their web site price. Brought it home, charged up the battery made sure it worked. It played dvds, VCD, SVCD, and played my backup DVD X-Copy movies recorded on DVD-R. Good enough for me, and at that price, I went back and bought another one.

I don't know how long these will last, but my 8 year old loves his so far. He even plays his PS2 games on it. I have a power inverter for the car, so he will be able to stay busy with PS2 on long trips.
Also, the sound is awesome when you use better earphones. I didn't give it 5 stars because of one minor inconvenience. The manual recommends you remove the battery when you hook up to an AC source, or when you charge. A minor annoyance for me, and even more difficult for youngsters.
Based on the reviews though, I am keeping my receipts handy. Also noticed that the other portable dvds, had their fair share of negative reviews.
