Summary: Horrible
Review: I saw this on television the other night and it was just abysmal. I can't imagine what the "critics" are thinking who give this thing more than two stars. David Arquette should go back to doing 1-800-COLLECT commercials with Carrot Top. It's really depressing that the once-proud Muppet franchise has sunk to such depths. Don't waste your time.

Summary: Not up to Muppet standards
Review: I saw this movie for the first time on TV last night and was very disappointed. This is not a funny movie, it left me rather depressed. The acting is sub-par (Joan Cussack over-acts), the story sketchy, and overall it's just not what a Muppet movie should be. I should also point out this is not a movie for young children. The humor (what little there is) will be lost on them and the overall story is too dark.
If you want a good holiday Muppet story, then the Muppet Family Christmas (albeit edited)is a far better choice. Other good Muppet holiday fare to watch is A Muppet Christmas Carol and Christmas Eve on Seseme Street.

Summary: The Muppets Shine Again
Review: The muppets rocked my muppet world once again in this haliriously funny and heart-warming christmas story. Celebrate the holidays with the enite muppet, sesame street, and fraggle rock gang in this musical masterpeice.

Summary: The Muppets Are Back.
Review: I originally watched this show when it aired on television in 2002. I taped it to watch again and again and was really glad to see it on DVD in time for the holiday season.

Like many people, I grew up on Jim Henson and the Muppets: from Sesame Street to Fraggle Rock to The Muppet Show and The Storyteller and all those great Muppet Movies. I mourned the day Jim Henson died and I was glad that the Muppets have continued to survive after his death.

With that said, IT'S A VERY MERRY MUPPET CHRISTMAS MOVIE isn't quite up to the Muppets of old, but it's getting close and in my opinion is better than MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND or MUPPETS IN SPACE. This movie is a parody of the treasured Christmas classic, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. We are taken back to the Muppet Theatre and years after dismal shows and not much profit, it looks like the Muppets will finally be in the black and have enough money to buy the theatre. Then the big, bad bank lady comes and threatens to take it all away. Kermit is in despair and feels like he has let the whole gang down and thinks the world would be better if he had never been born. Like George Bailey, Kermit gets to see his wish and learns some valuable lessons.

I admit I wasn't happy seeing Whoopie Goldberg play God. However, this is a parody of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE and voice overs with twinkling stars would be overkill. I didn't mind the blatant self-promotion by NBC because the Muppets have been blatantly self-promoting themselves for the past 20 years and even when Jim Henson was alive there was a little crossover (every watch "Muppet Babies"?). I also wasn't offended by the scene with Fozzie and the lasers--it seemed more of a tip of the hat to The Looney Toons than anything else. I admit that the tone of the film is darker than most other Muppet projects. However, for the story and message of the film, it all seemed to fit. There are plenty of parodies in the film and lots of Muppet humor on the sly.

Overall, it's a decent Muppet flick and has given me hope that the Muppets of old are on the rise.

Summary: Fine Muppet film that is more a commercial for NBC than a fi
Review: It's a fine film for small children but its more of an infomercial for upcoming NBC shows than a stand alone Muppet movie. That being said, it's a good family movie that has all the trimming of the holiday season and its really funny and heart warming, but expect to be bombarded with NBC guest stars.

Summary: Who's Your favorite Icon: Kermit or the NBC Peacock?
Review: Forever the loyal Muppet fan that I am, I taped this when it premiered on TV last year. It was good seeing the Muppets back in action, but this feature was quite a disappointment and even a little mean-spirited at times. If you are a Muppet fan, the movie is worth seeing if you happen to catch it on TV...but worth buying? Yikes!

I was nauseated by the shameful NBC promotions cluttering up what is supposed to be a Muppet movie...not a commercial for Carson Daley Live and Fear Factor! Plus, the addition of such schlock smells desperately like an attempt to appeal to younger viewers simply by throwing in modern fads. Past Muppet movies ("Muppets From Space" aside) were appealing enough without having to stoop to such levels.

I agree with another viewer that the scene of Fozzie running through the lasers was NOT funny and even a tad disturbing...who wants to see a beloved Muppet icon get incinerated?

There were only two musical numbers: one was a confusing Moulin Rouge parody and the other a mediocre song sung by Gonzo.

Joan Cusack overacted to the point of being a distraction in the film.

The movie could lead a fan to fear that the Muppet magic has truly been lost. I certainly hope this is not the case. Up until this film, I thought the least impressive Muppet movie was "Muppets From Space." But that effort is "Citizen Kane" by comparison to this.

Summary: The Muppets
Review: I have been a life-long Muppets fan. Here is the Mupets version of "It's A Wonderful Life." This movie shows our favorite frog feeling depressed. Kermit gets a glimpse of what his friends would be like if he had never existed. The bloopers are fun to watch!
Please ignore the reviewer who admitted that to not being a Muppets fan. Why did this person bother watching this movie if he doesn't even like the Muppets? If you're a Muppet fan, you will enjoy this movie.

Summary: Great Job of Bringing the Muppets Into Our Times
Review: First off, for the Veggietales guy, get a life. Bart and Milhouse were showing your bootleg videos to the cops while you were writing that very childish review, comic book guy. If you're not a muppet fan to begin with, why would you bother with watching this? I love the muppets, always have, always will. Yes, it's true that their name has gotten attached to some really crappy stuff lately, but hey, a man's gotta eat. This movie was very refreshing, however. It brought the muppets into the 21st century as best as can be expected. (for more on this, watch Kermit's interview on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart sometime, Kermit get's very modern.) Love the video, and the muppets will live as long as we do!

Summary: Kermit is a WIMP
Review: This movie was soooooooooooo dull. Kermit spent much of it whining and moping around. i liked it when he became a frogsicle though. Good deal. The musical number with Miss Piggy was the only good part. The jokes werent funny very much. I watched this last year on TV no way I would watch it again.
