Rating: Summary: An incredible novel Review: This book is, without any question, the best I've ever read. Ender (Andrew Wiggin) is a young, six-year-old supergenious recruited by an internationally controlled fleet to fight a war against an alien race that has attacked earth twice in the past. A third attack is anticipated, and young men (and occasionally women) are trained to fight from the earliest ages in null gravity and space warfare. I know that the plot sounds wild, but it really is a great novel for a completely different reason: it's analysis of genious, and, much more importantly, what it is like to grow up as one. Ender fights for his life against every imaginable form of assailment against a genious of any age. He also deals with his brother, Peter, and sister, Valentine, two other geniouses who failed to make it into the "Battle School" for two opposite reasons: "excessive hate" and "excessive love". While they have few physical contacts throughout the novel, it is scary to realize exactly how much the trio have in common. I highly reccomend this novel to ANY reader. If you have any questions on life as a genious, don't miss it. It is shaking to the core.
Rating: Summary: awesome Review: This book was the best book I have ever read in my entire life. I know anyone who reads it will enjoy it to.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Books Ever Review: Its written in a way anyone can understand, and has a story that will appeal to anyone's imagination. I read this book about a month ago, and like anything really good, I gotta share the wealth. Whether you like space-ships, aliens, or even science fiction, this book will blow your mind. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Ordinary Genius Saves the Universe Review: It's hard for an author to write about a character who is smarter than they are. Sometimes it works out, like in Stanislaw Lem's fiction. Here it didn't. Good action, cute end. Harmless writing sytle
Rating: Summary: Oh - My - God! Review: Ender's Game is the first really, really good sci-fi book I've read in a long, long time. Real characters, exciting situations, brutal action... What can I say? Buy this book, read it, and re-read it, you won't regret it. (PS: they're working on a movie adaption, keep you fingers crossed for a good one)
Rating: Summary: OK for a quick, easy read Review: Like many people I suspect, I read this book because of the hype. It was entertaining and an easy read, but didn't leave much of an impact. I didn't mind Card's writing style, rather dull, but to the point. My complaint is how he handled the minor characters, especially Peter. Why even introduce a character if you are not going to develop it in anyway? The psychology of Peter, and for that matter Val, is barely touched upon and then Peter seems to disappear from the story all together, as though the author grew bored with him. It could have been a better story with more character development, as it is, it is still a fairly entertaining and quick-paced story.
Rating: Summary: amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: ender's game was definitely one of the best books i have ever read, and all my other favorite books are also by card. it really makes one think about society, and makes you wonder if it will really end up something like that. if you haven't read ender's game, read it, and all the other ones, too!
Rating: Summary: Worth every penny, and much more. Review: I am 13 years old, and have read many very good books over sevral years , and Enders Game far surpasses the best of them. It is touching, and the best book in the world. After I read it my grandma read it, and then my uncle, and soon most everyone in the family had. They all loved it, and would give it 5 stars. Card is the best writer in the field. His books are as good as Shakespear, Taleswapper (William Blake), Hammlet and many other notable poets were at poetry.
