Rating: Summary: An inspirational book of survival. Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read. I loved the realism and details Louis Sachar included. Thye made you feel like you were right on the spot when everything was happening. This book is total adventure and you will never want to put it down. I loved it!!!
Rating: Summary: One of the best reads Review: This book is one of the best that I have read in a while. Definately worth the time, Holes brings the story of Stanley Yelnats, a boy sent to Camp Green Lake for a crime he didn't do. It's all because of his no-good-rotten-pig-stealing-grandfather, who supposedly had a curse put on their whole family generations ago. Stanley and his fellow detainees at Camp Green Lake have to dig a hole every day, for supposedly building character, but the Warden has something else on her mind which is revealed through the constant time changes from present to past. The book leaves you thinking, which is a wonderful way for a book to leave you. Though hard-to-put-down at times, the book is a must-read for all teenagers, and an excellent one for anyone looking to pass their time.
Rating: Summary: Powerful Review: This book is powerful and sad. It shows that "criminals" are not always what they seem, espesially children. I recommend it for all!!!!!
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This book is probably the best book I ever read. I am going into seventh grade this year, but I also recomend this book to adults. I believe it was in the sixth or seventh chapter when I got hooked to this book, and read the rest of it in one day. I have recomended this book to several of my teachers and friends. All of them have told me that it's the best book they have ever read. I highly recomend Holes to anyone who likes a good book
Rating: Summary: the great american novel..... Review: This book is really awesome. I recomend it to kids as well as adults. Stanley has to work in the sun beating down on him at 105 degrees. He must dig a hole each day which is very deep. You won't get bored thats for sure. Then there is Mr. Sir (I know that is an odd name, but who cares) who is one of there counselers and is very strange in many ways. You will see what I mean. So! What are you waiting for? If there was 20 stars, it would be that.
Rating: Summary: I really liked the setting because it fit well with the book Review: This book is really fasinating. It had great realistic characters. Stanley deserves a 10! He showed pride and he never gave up. Zero is my favorite character because he was so quiet at the beginning and then he wanted to learn and stand up for himself. This is a perfect for teens.
Rating: Summary: Digging up holes. Review: This book is really great it all starts out when a boy named Stanley Yelnats who was just walking down the street then suddenly shoes came flying above his head and hits him on the head. How did the shoes got there? Where did it came from? Who did it? Then later he finally knew that he had to go to court, because the shoes belong to a famous person that was donated at a place, and they think he stole them from the place. When he went to court he either had to chose to go to jail or go to Camp Green Lake. He never been to camp before, so he wanted to go to camp and see what it is like. So when he got there he was confused because it was called Camp Green Lake and he kinda expected that there will be a lake but the camp was all sand and hotness. When he first got there he met all the people in his camp. Later he met a boy named Zero (his nickname) who knew something or everything about the shoes at the donating place. You'll find out more details and more info if you read this book.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: This book is really interesting even though it sounds like there is no plot, there is a great plot. I had to read this book in school for the Dorthy Canfield Fisher award, this award is given to the author of a book that kids all over the state vote for. Holes won this award so I know I am not the only won that thinks this book is awsome. It is kind of funny also when in the end the whole story comes together! I defenetly recomend this book to any one looking for a good book.
