Rating: Summary: "This book had me on the edge of my seat for hours" Review: This book starts off with a boy named Stanley Yelnats as the main character. He got accused for a crime that he didn't even do. The crime was stealing a famous athlete's tennis shoes. So he got sent to a detention camp, the camp was called "Camp Green Lake" where all the kids did was dig holes. At the camp each day you have to dig one hole 5' wide and 5' deep. At first Stanley had so much trouble. There is a warden there, a girl warden. He knew there was something that she was looking for, or the kids wouldn't have to dig holes. At the end of the book Stanley finds a suitcase, BUT I can't tell you what's in the suitcase~! I encourage everyone to go out and buy this wonderful book!!!

Rating: Summary: Hole Land Review: This book tells the story of stanley Yentas going to camp Green Lake. This book is a powerful look at going to juvenile camp when when you are innocent. Stanley never knew that the next eighteen months of hard work would also be dangerous. Imagine a story about yellow spotted lizards and wild snakes and scorpions. Stanley doesn't feel too good around snakes and scorpions and killer lizards. They had to watch for scorpions and killer lizards that would cause a slow painful death. When was the last time a book made you afraid?Stanley Yelnats III was from a poor family and over weight. Stanley's father was also named Stanley who is an inventor. Mr. Pendanski was a counselor at D tent, bald and younger than Mr. Sir. The warden is a tall woman with red hair and finger nails painted dark red. Kate Barlow was a school teacher full of knowledge. Hector Zero's nickname is Zero whom Stanley taught to read at camp. Mr. Sir is a mean guard who would not give much water when they were in the head digging holes. Stanley in his mind could hear his fathers voice softly singing to him this song. The song was sweet and sad, but Stanley's favorite part was when his father would howl the word moon. If only,if only. The woodpecker sights . The bark on the tree was just a little softer. While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonley. He cries to the moo-oo-oon, if only, if only". This was a song his father used to sing him . Stanley's great-great-grandfather had stolen a pig from a one legged Gypsy who put a curse on him. Stanley's parents blammed anything that went wrong on the great-graet-granfather's bad luck. Stanley looked out the window on the bus, " welcome to camp Green lake". Stanley was innocent of the crime that he was convited. Clyde " sweet feet" Livingston stolen sneaker's was going to be sold and the money was to be used for the homeless. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I thought this was a good scary book to read. It shows you how easy that you can be convicted of a crime and go to camp for boys. It also makes you stop and think. I would recommend this book for 5th grade. I enjoyed this book.

Rating: Summary: A great parent-child read-along! Review: This book took my son and I on an incredible journey of one child's path of misfortune, to his path of true friendship, to his path of family ties. Sachar captures moments of the past and interestingly weaves them to the main character's life so wonderfully that it is difficult to put this book down. We were at the edge of our seats sharing our reading time, each of us waiting to here what would happen next. What is interesting is that Sachar allows room for your imagination, a wonderful way for a young reader to share his/her thoughts on the outcome of a story.
Rating: Summary: Fillen in the Holes? Review: This book was a amazing! We liked the way it all weaved or tied into at the end. The charactors were also very cool! We expecially liked the way Stanley's name was spelled backwords too! We live all the way acroos the ocean from the US and almost everyone we know has read it and loved it! It now has become our FAVORITE BOOK. Louis Sachar is GREAT! He also has a great imagination! Among all of his books, this is the BEST book so far. His other book are well written as well, but this book is far better than the rest! We recomen this book!
