Rating: Summary: Holes Review: I gave this book four stars because it was a good book. When I was at St. Ambrose, Mrs. Clark, our English teacher was reading it to us. I think the book is pretty funny but good at the same time. It has an imaginative plotting and memorable characters. I would remember their names because they have weird names. It was funny too. Because the names were weird the characters were silly and funny. I would recommend this book to fifth graders and up with a good sense of humor. It has hard words that they can understand.

The curse is broken when Stanley carries Zero up the mountain. The ending was not very good. It talked about how Stanley's father created a foot oder elimenater. It tuned out that Zero was the one who stole the shoes.

Rating: Summary: Review by Chris Review: I give Holes 5 stars because it focused on people that weren't so fortunate in our world. It gave a new look on how people treat each other. If you can follow your instincts, good things happen. I highly recommend this for an 8th grade student or any other age.

Rating: Summary: No Holes in This Book Review: I give the book Holes, by Louis Sacher five stars. Stanley Yelnats, the main character, has bad luck following him wherever he goes. Stanley winds up in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets accused of a time he did not commit. He is given the choice to either go to jail or a boy's juvenile detention camp, Camp Green Lake. He chooses camp. Soon Stanley finds out that there is no lake to swim in and there will be no fun at all. As a punishment everyday Stanley will have to dig a hole, five feet wide in all directions and five feet deep. The people who work at camp say that digging builds character. Stanley knowns that their must be some other reason why they are digging. But why? -J.A.
