Summary: Once again, the rule is proven true
Review: The rule of which I speak is that a sitting politician can hardly ever write a truly interesting book about their life.

A more dull book is hard to imagine. For one thing, she should have gotten much better ghost writers. A lot of the time, the book reads like a term paper ("What I did for eight years in the White House"). Everyone knows that it was (hopefully) a lot more interesting than this book relates. This point in and of itself makes this book pretty worthless.

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: Very disappointing book, nothing new that has not already been reported. Sheds best light within this book. You do get the impression that Mrs. Clinton stretches the truth to further her political ambitions. Cold Book.

Summary: Outstanding examination in self delusion
Review: i borrowed this book from my sister. she fancies herself a democrat and hillary fan, but could only make it through around 70 pages. i'll let her write her own review, but the reason she so generously dumped this volume on me is that she couldn't stomach the content, or the writing style. she normally reads novels, and fast paced, mystery types at that. its not difficult to figure out why she didn't enjoy this one....its boring. it does have some redeeming value(s) however, and that's why i rated it two stars. i enjoyed this, not unlike the typical person enjoying a train wreck, primarily due to curiosity. if you are a political science buff, like myself, you should read it for educational purposes. it is a brilliant study in "spin science". h's team of ghost writers have created a virtual test tube laboratory of "spin" (formally termed "propaganda"). examples of impactful "spin mastering" are abundant in bookstores, especially since the coming and passing of the clinton presidency. minimizing the impact of presidential scandal, as clinton fans would quickly point out, is an art that has existed for over a century. this was not unique to the clinton regime. the level of it, however, is a different matter. the clintons (including the author) became so expert in rationalization and fact twisting that they elevated General Public "duping" to a remarkable level. this book is a bold example of this phenomena. mrs. clinton's hired writers appear uninterested in plausability, bashing through the pages with falsehood after falsehood. uniquely, they do this with perceived immunity, knowing full well that the clinton sub-culture has already forgiven bill and hillary for all of their transgressions anyway. at any rate, the book is an exceptional example of how the right book, at the right time, with the right audience can actually re-write history. i believe that is the purpose of mrs. clinton's effort, she seeks to sanitize a rather untidy past. this lengthy volume should also prove fascinating to those in the mental field(s) as it clearly illustrates two in-vogue concepts; self delusion and denial. the senator from new york, once again brings these normally benign leanings to a new level. i'll wrap this up. this book is a great read for the above reasons. you cannot read it without experiencing amazement. what a great coincidence, it being released at the same time as the summer's other great fantasy (H. Potter). i rate it only two stars, though, because, as the title suggests, it's supposed to be about history. there is little history in this. as other reviewers have pointed out, many much better than i, this is fiction. but give the former first lady her due, she spins her tale with no reservation, with no apparent sense of conscience or respect for accuracy. you have to salute her for her brashness and outright boldness. you don't see that every day.

Summary: Well written, articulate and honest
Review: I found the book, Living History to be interesting, educational, and believable. Ms. Clinton writes well and includes her perspective on all of the events that we were all very much aware of during the Clinton presidency and beyond.

The book includes Ms. Clinton's feeling and perspective of the events that took place. So I was dismayed to read the rantings of the Hillary bashers who reviewed this book. I didn't see these types of rants on other books written by conservative authors such as Ann Coulter (who states her opinion) that I feel was filled with innacuracies and poorly written.

For the Hillary bashers, this book will not change their mind (shame on you). But for those of us who were either straddling the fence, or behind her from the start, the book will be met met with accolades.

Read this book with an open mind and you will find that it is well worth your time and the money spent on the book.

Summary: why bother to read the book
Review: I read through many of the reviews for Hillary's book. I absolutely do not believe that most of the people who reviewed the book (especially the people who say it is full of lies) actually bothered to read the book. They were sure in a hurry to review it. Most seem to just want another opportunity to bash the Clintons in print.

Summary: An Uncommon Woman
Review: I enjoyed this book immensely. I am annoyed that the press focused so completely on so few lines. Hillary is a lot more than an aggrieved wife. Her decision to stay with Bill was consistant with her commitment to her values, even when times are tough. She has accomplished a great deal in the public arena in her own right. She is also an excellent writer and carries the reader along what was a very bumpy road, with humor and humility. People have assumed that she wants to be president some day, even though she knows how grueling and thankless the job can be. I sincerely hope so!

Summary: Dry, but fascinating.
Review: Hillary Clinton is the focal point for conservative rage and liberal worship. Regardless of content, the political agenda of her critics or allies taint the objective appraisal of her book. However, Senator Clinton's autobiography is a perspective into recent history that certainly no one else could have provided.

Overall, "Living History" is a compelling personal look into the events of Senator Clinton's life. Senator Clinton writes in a distant manner that lends itself to academic work, but not the "tell all" personal tragedy that many seem to desire. Thus, if you are looking for a confession to match your perception of Senator Clinton, "Living History" is obviously not for you.

Summary: Any thinking American Should and will be Insulted
Review: Just suffered through this piece of fiction. Incredible obfuscation. Could Hillary be any more evasive? From what I recall of history, Hillary's account is full of half-truths, convenient selective memory, and historical revisionism. Any thinking American should and will be insulted.

Summary: Pleasantly Surprised
Review: After reading the first few chapters of this book I wondered if I would make it to the end. Luckily, somewhere in Arkansas that all changed. This book really gives the reader a behind the scenes account of the pressures and influence a dignitary has, and how a modern woman faces challenges beyond most of society's comprehension. It's exciting to read engaging details of her small blunders and personal triumphs in the public eye as a "First Lady in training". I recommend this book to any woman in your life as a source of inspiration.

Summary: LIVING DELUSION
Review: I gave this book 2 stars, because it's a book. All books have some merit, good or bad. This is a hard book to comment on. The author is not really an author, so the writing is flat and incoherent. It also is, frankly, irrelevent. The point of the book is questionable. Is the writer trying to include us in a world that we aren't involved in and situations that we aren't privy to? Is the writer writing this as a vehicle for poilital persuaion and advancement? I don't know. No one really knows. The main failing of the book is the delusion of the writer, as the real living history has proven. This is how the writer sees situations as they exist. As they exist to her. I really think the book is a waste of time, because of the reputation of the writer. You really don't know what you're reading. Too much manipulation in the past gives the writer no credibility.
