Summary: Lying History
Review: In a nutshell, this book is nothing but an attempt for Hillary to improve her image before she runs in 2008. In the book you find nothing about White Water or the failed Medicare program. Instead, you hear a revised account of what went on during the Clinton presidency supplemented with Hillary Clinton political thought 101. The trouble is, that some of these things are such blatent lies that I'm suprised that nobody talked to her about it before publishing the book. Are we to believe that Hillary thought that Bill was telling the truth when he said that he did not have an affair while in office? Given his past, Hillary would be a fool to think such a thing; and a fool she is not. The book seems to focus more on everyone else's wrong doings rather than her own. Thus, the book really doesn't tell us anything about Hillary other than 1) The Republicans are bad and 2)She stayed by Bill's side until the end. The content in this book is really sub-par and thus, I am forced to give it one star.

Lastly,
I am a Democrat. Most other people here give this book five stars and say that you "shouldn't listen to those conservatives because..." People should realize that when it comes to judging a person, one must look beyond political affiliations. At the end of a day Hillary Clinton is an overly-ambitious, opportunistic, pragmatist that only cares about getting elected and nothing else. She got elected to the senate on her husband's coat tails rather than by merit (her failures with medicare are proof of that) and she hogs the spotlight when it should be put on democratic candidates that are running for president next year. The fact that most people who give this book one star are probably conservative doesn't matter. At the end of the day, this is not the type of person that should be respected nor elected into office and we, republican or democrat, must all come to realize that.

Summary: shattered expectations
Review: I can't profess to be a Hillary hater, but not truly a fan. However I have always been intrigued by the unique role she played in American political history. That said, I think this book is a disappointment. It resembles a college term paper written the night before the due date and it is very apparent as Hillary acknowledges in the opening, that more than one person was ghost writing with her.

Hillary offers nothing new, or valuable to the historical discussion and frankly, some of the things she passes off as her feelings seem pretty hard to believe.

She obviously made out with an $8 million dollar advance and it seems that sales will bring profits for the publisher, so its no wonder that the reader is stuck with the bill for a less than interesting book.

Summary: Fascinating Biography From A Fascinating Woman
Review: Please ignore the right-wing fanatics that have "reviewed" Senator Clinton's book here. They have not purchased the book, they have not skimmed the book, they have read nothing of the book other than the name of its author - Hillary Clinton - and are ranting about how terrible it is!

Having just finished the book last night, I can tell you that it is really quite a page-turner! I'd compare it with Eleanor Roosevelt's biography - the style and much of the content seems very familiar. The parallels between Hillary and Eleanor are apparent to students of history, and whether self-consciously or not, Hillary's book is very similar to that of the first "activist First Lady" (who was similarly hated by radical conservatives who want to keep women in their place).

Do yourself a favor and read the book for yourself. It's a great story about how one woman rose to the very heights of power while living through an incredible period of history. Does Hillary launch strong attacks against the right? Yes, absolutely. This book is both a personal biography and a personal defense (from the attacks Ms. Clinton has faced over the course of the last decade). Whether you're politically inclined or not, you owe it to yourself to hear her perspective before you make up your mind
about what kind of person Hillary Rodham Clinton is. Her opponents don't seem willing to give her that kind of chance.

Summary: Improbable History
Review: I was very disappointed. This book appears to be little more the latest Clinton cover-up. As usual, this is yet another hazy story full of improbable cirumstances and questionable timelines, so transparent that only the most ardent Clinton fanatic could not see through it.

I read it hoping to get a picture of who Hillary Clinton really is behind the plastic facade, but I discovered just another contrived persona that has been carefully constructed for public consumption. No wonder it's not the real Hillary, considering as it turns out, that she didn't actually write the book.

Instead, it would appear that Hillary Clinton is just the spokesperson for a name brand product in the latest era of celebrity marketing.

Summary: More BS than expected
Review: If you believe anything in this book except the revelations of her ambitions for power, you might want to check on the price of the Brooklyn bridge in the city that will vote for the most raving liberal on the ballot.
I guess she can always blame the nonsense on her ghostwriters and give her adoring media another "I can't recall any of that" quote where the stuff gets really deep and is proven to be nonsense later when some really knowledgeable author someday tells it like it really was.
I was sorry our library felt obligated to support this woman by buying her book, but at least it provided me the opportunity to read it without wasting any of my money.
This woman has to be kept as far from the White House as possible forever. It is to be hoped that New York will wake up and send someone else to the Senate if she tries to run for it again, if only on the evidence of the fictional content of this book, well contradicted in past coverage by even her media acolytes.

Summary: Tremendous
Review: well-written and helpful to me, an amateur historian

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I didn't have mental relations with this book.
Review: The book virtually put me to sleep - Hillary drones on and on about what a rough journey it's been, but it all seems pretty transparent. I've been relatively sympathetic for her, but this book is mindless drivel.

Hillary, why not just admit this is an election-year manifesto? Passing this off as a real book is about as honest as Bill's statement that he didn't have sexual relations with "that woman."

Not worth the money - there are a lot of better books out there. And no, Hillary, you aren't getting my vote after this book.

Summary: Only One Star?
Review: Yes....because "0" wasn't a rating option. I borrowed the book because I could never bring myself to pay for it. I'm almost ashamed to have read the book. I guess I am one of the useful idiots after all. Should be in the fiction section of the brick and mortar stores.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well Written
Review: This book was well written. As stated earlier, only the conservatives gave it few "stars" - although it is amusing to me that they read it at all! But, thanks for buying it - I'm sure Hillary appreciates it! At any rate, I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Summary: Poor, poor Hillary got rich on fools buying this joke!
Review: Either Hillary is sadly out of touch with the real world or just stupid. I don't buy the victim that she want us to believe. Sorry, one again she is laughing all the way to the bank at our expense. Anybody want to buy my copy cheap?
