Rating: Summary: Lovely read.... Review: ...about an amazing woman. It starts in the 50's and reminds me of growing up when times were simpler. Hillary was raised by a remarkable Mom who was a survivor. I think it shows where she got her spunk and abilities to survive the hard times. You can see her eyes light up when she talks about Chelsea and watching her experience so many wonderful things. She's smart and a tough cookie when it comes to the things she believes in. One is long time friendships and one suspect long time relationships that might well survive the test of time. A well written book.
Rating: Summary: Great Read! Finally we get the TRUTH! Review: Great book! Loved getting the REAL story behind the slanted media version of what we are fed on the 6 o'clock news. Wonderful insight to the real human side of their White House life. Warm and colorful! It makes me long for the good ole days when Clinton was in the White House and we all had money and the rest of the world didn't hate us!
Rating: Summary: A truly wonderful book! Review: This was one of those books that I read in 2 days. I just couldn't put it down. Even though we know much of the history during this period, seeing these events through Hillary Clinton's eyes was very interesting. Lots of insight into the thoughts of this former first lady and senator, who is a very public figure. So much has been written about her in the newspapers and tabloids that I thought I knew her. Reading this book made me realize that I didn't. I now have even more respect for her.
Rating: Summary: Impressive Review: I have just finished Hillary's book and found it easy and entertaining to read. For those who are uninterested in anything but her husband's sex life, this book will be a disappointment. For those intereted in the facinating experiences of a woman who has lived the kind of life most of us can only imagine, enjoy reading about her committment to women and families of all races, socio-economic backgrounds and nations. Is the book a glorified stump speech? I HOPE SO.
Rating: Summary: Diligent and her intentions are good Review: Lots of people say "I don't like Hillary". That's why I bought this book, to judge for myself. I found that she has good intentions for America and that's what counts. (the present administration doesn't care if we all rot, as long as they get all our money) This book was articulate and direct. Mrs. Clinton is driven and relentless. Maybe she should run for prez in 2004, at this time, we need all the help we can get.
Rating: Summary: President Hillary Clinton Review: The conservative right wing nutcases that rip this book have nothing but hate in their hearts. This book is a terrific memoir about an amazing woman. A woman that has worked hard and accomplished an enormous amount without hurting anyone along the way. Why do conservative Republicans hate her with such intense tenacity? It has always been bizarre to me, but their loyalty belongs to a man that has no accomplishments? A man that has not done anything in his life by himself. That's right, the lying George W. Bush is their champion. His memoir would be ten pages long, and written by someone else.
Rating: Summary: A great book by a Great American Patriot Review: Ignore the hate and vitriol of other so called "reviews" posted at Amazon.com These people have an extreme hatred for President and Senator Clinton. Their hypocrisy is outstandingly overt, and their methods reek of nazism. As Hitler once said: "Liberals---a disease we can and we MUST cure in our lifetime." At the far-rights core, they hate blacks and the poor. My Bible says you will be judged on how well you treat the poor, not how many cars and yachts you can aquire. Take a look at any way you can measure a great America, and it happened in the 90's, jobs, economy, low crime, peace, etc; etc. This was due in part to the great leadership we had. Now the world has turned upside down, and the Republicans are in total control. It does take a village, helping each other, to make America great, not giving welfare to offshore corporations. If we all turn out to vote for the Democrats in 2004, we still have a chance. Read the Book and you'll understand what true patriotism is, fighting for the right things, not selling out to the highest bidder.
Rating: Summary: Wanted to Hear Another Side Review: After hearing so much on the news about how awful the Clintons are, I wanted to read the other side. It took me 4 evening to read this book. That is between the kids, supper, and the laundry. I enjoyed this book. Mrs. Clinton talked about her journeys around the world and finding out about women's rights and suffering in other parts of the world. She wrote about meeting Mother Teresa, Queen Noor, and so many other interesting people. But it was the parts about her worries as a woman - with her father, her mother, her husband, and her daughter that I found so interesting. Those are things all women have in common (granted not all the things that happened to her happen to every women) but she was honest, I thought, about her feelings and I admire her for that. I enjoyed the book very much. It was a very easy book to read.
Rating: Summary: Nothing new...and boring Review: The long anticipated memoir reveals little if any new information about the Clinton years in the White House, and spenda an agonizing amount of time on hair styles and insignificant trivia.
Rating: Summary: Not terrible, but you better be a big fan of Hillary. Review: There is very little here that a true-blue Hillary-fan does not already know about her, or any relevations about her political philosophy that any savvy person has not already surmised. I suspect that Ms. Clinton did not produce this book as a means of increasing her political base, but rather as a means of increasing her bank account. You might have heard that this book was written by a committee of ghostwriters in just a few weeks; sadly, it often feels like it. I would suggest that if you want a taste of the real Hillary, you should read IT TAKES A VILLAGE, which, I believe, was actually written by her.
