Rating: Summary: Read the book Review: I swear that all these people getting on amazon and bashing the living daylights out of Senator Clinton is probably the most disgusting thing I've seen this week, next to the fact that it backs up her right-wing conspiracy theory moreso than any book may. I voted for her. I knew most of this already, and was little disappointed by the lack of candor, but as a whole, it's a worthwhile read. If you are a conservative and don't feel that woman should be allowed into politics and like Laura Bush better in that she hasn't taken a stand on anything and like her husband who lies to the American people daily but believe his nonsense then don't bother reading this book, plain and simple.
Rating: Summary: Thoughtful & entertaining read Review: While I'm somewhat neutral on the subject of the Clintons, I frankly can't see how this book generates the venomous spewing from previous reviewers. It is obviously a personal issue and not a serious review of this well written, entertaining and thoughtful memoir. Much better than I expected.
Rating: Summary: A walk in History Review: This book recounts the years of the Clinton presidency, from a historic view point. The drama of these years is discussed, but the impact of the trips to foreign nations and the difficulty of raising a family take center stage. Yes, we get the writer's political views, but the interest is in the peoples and place traveled. She shares with us what she learned on all thosetrips paid for with our tax payer dollars. If you can set aside your preconceived politacal beliefs, there is allot to be learned about our world in these pages.
Rating: Summary: oof Review: As a one-time supporter of both Hillary and Bill, I have become accustomed over the last 5 years to the bleak, desolate feeling of my world crumbling around me. I thought that the destruction was over and that I may at long last begin rebuilding my world on a foundation of sanity. But once again, a Clinton bleats out another affront that hits me like a shot in the gut. This book is repugnant. I had hoped for a mea culpa - an apology - an acknowledgement of what she and her husband did to the country over the years. There is none of this. It is revolting, disgusting tripe, nothing more than a pile of simple lies served up for simpletons to savor. The person who suggested that this woman is twisted was dead-on. She needs medication and therapy. There is no limit to the destruction this woman would wreak on human beings if left to her own devices, absent the corrective measure of that which she abhors, the vote.
Rating: Summary: My only regret about this book... Review: ...is that there isn't a rating lower than one star. What junk. This is the most self-serving, egocentric book it will ever be your displeasure to lay your eyes on. Don't waste your time.
Rating: Summary: Clintons - Keep Getting Worse Review: Sadly, the negative reviews are right on. I should have believed "The most dishonest and self-aggrandizing bunk I've ever paged through" and saved my time and money. This woman is twisted, relentless, and self serving. ENTIRELY UNBELIEVABLE.
Rating: Summary: A Bad Christmas Present Review: There are better ways of spending your money for a rare, limited edition copy of a book or some other rare item. How about buying a mint Leica M6 TTL Titanium 35mm rangefinder camera? Surely it would be a better financial investment for Christmas and many new years to come than a signed limited edition copy of Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Living History". Or if a rare book published by Simon and Schuster would be more appealing to you, I would recommend instead trying to find a first edition copy of Frank McCourt's "Angela's Ashes". Again, it would be a better financial investment than purchasing a copy of Ms. Clinton's tome. Unfortunately her distorted view of her personal history - and her husband's - is not worth the paper it is printed on.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating read Review: The rise of the Clintons and the magnitude of their problems are fascinating. Hillarys attempt to always be a victim is hillarious. Very creative. Her shallowness shines through and through. Sadly her few followers are the same. As she slowly fades into her twilight years this is a fitting tribute to her life. Fascinating but meaningless.
Rating: Summary: Good read Review: This book was interesting and it illuminated her history in public service well. Having said that, if you want a first person memoir of someone who was (and still is) part of making history this is a good book to pick up. The writing needs help at times but, overall it is very interesting. I give her three cheers for not being a shrinking violet to the critics.
Rating: Summary: this book will be forgotten Review: The author has failed to address the critical issues facing the world during her life and times. Instead, she chose to pander to various supporters and groups whose backing she needs at present. One of the key issues facing our planet at this time, namely, that of Islam, the World, and America, receives no attention at all from the author. Instead, we find mediocre references to Islam and Muslims which make us think that the author could not care less about this topic. Similarly, the intense focus on the ins and outs of the scandals she was involved in makes this book seem all the more petty. Future historians will find no reason to go back to these memoirs because they reveal nothing substantial about the world in which the author grew and developed.
