Rating: Summary: Jackie does it again!!! Review: Jackie Collins once again takes us into her wonderful world of sex, lies, and deception that true Collins fans have loved for years. Lethal Seduction was a fast paced, tell all story involving the lives of the rich and famous (of course). I really enjoyed all of the characters, in particular "Rosarita". She gives the word 'bitch' an entirely new meaning. Enjoy reading about her plot to kill her husband and the lengths she must go through in trying to reach her ultimate goal (utterly hilarious at times). Also, the character of "Madison", from the L.A. Connections series, was extremely well written. I would say that the only thing that stopped me from giving this book a five star rating was its abrupt ending. It almost seemed like Ms Collins was in a rush all of a sudden to get through with the book and in doing so, completed the last couple of chapters in a half-assed manner... something I couldn't understand, considering she added yet another surprise in store at the very end. But I'm sure that whatever it was that caused her to do this will be explained in her next book (a sequel perhaps)? At any rate, this book was very entertaining and I would suggest giving it a try.
Rating: Summary: Not a Collins Best Review: Madison Castelli is one of the main female characters in the book. She's no Lucky Santangelo that's for sure, but she's a good character. She's beautiful, of course, so I couldn't understand why she was hanging on to grief about her ex-lover having walked out on her for another woman...two years ago. Madison's best friend, Jamie Nova, finds out that her perfect husband is cheating on her in the most devious manner. Rosarita Falcon is the bitchiest character I've come across in a long time. She is unhappily married to a handsome but unsuccessful soap opera star, Dexter, whose real name is Dick Cockranger can you believe it? too funny. Rosarita is having a torrid affair with Joel Blaine, public sex fanatic and son of billionaire Leon Blaine. Rosarita asks her father to kill her husband, Dexter, since she believes her father is in the mob. We never do actually learn if he is in the mob or not. ... Not the best of Collins, but a fun read nonetheless.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful people having lots of sex... Review: I like Jackie Collins books for a light read on the beach. Her older books, the Lucky series, Hollywood Wives, and Hollywood Husbands I particularly liked. This is trashy, averagely written "literature", so I take it for what it is. Although this book is fairly entertaining, it is inherently flawed. One thing Jackie Collins is good at is creating a variety of characters and bringing them all together in the end. She does that in all her books, and Lethal Seduction is no different. However, this book nowhere near measures up to her previous efforts. In fact, it almost feels like a duplicate of all her other books. I'm so tired of all the women being the most beautiful thing on the face of the Earth. Sure, they may be famous, but not all famous people are beautiful! Second, all of her characters speak the exact same way. Some of them may speak a bit more slangy, but the vulgarity abounds from every character. I can't imagine some of these characters saying the things she has them say. All everyone does is have sex, and lots of it. Come on, how about some depth! The Gem character was ridiculous, yet another perfect and innocent wannabe actress. Dexter talks to her for five minutes, and he's in love? And he practically stalks her from Vegas and she doesn't think he's a nutcase? I don't know...this book is good for a day at the beach, but don't expect anything groundbreaking, and don't expect anything different from any of her other novels.
Rating: Summary: Jackie Collins does it again!!! Thrilling page turner Review: I have just finished "Lethal Seduction" and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jackie Collins remains one of my favourite writers and she did not disappoint. This book has definite potential for a sequel and I hope Jackie comes through (hint, hint). It would be interesting to follow Madison and Jake's romance. To explore Madison's dad Michael, her half brother Vincent and her maternal aunt in Miami would open up a good storyline and answer the questions left in the readers' minds at the end of "Lethal Seduction". Then there is Rosarita, whom I personally loved to hate. What happened to her, the career of Dexter and his relationship with Gem would make interesting reading. All in all, I would recommend this book as an extremely easy and entertaining quick read.
Rating: Summary: Another winner Review: Once again I enjoyed this book tremendously. I also picked up a few pointers. This was my first Jackie Collins novel. I have read about eight more and still counting. For a first impression I was very impressed. Keep up the good work, we love it.
Rating: Summary: Jackie seems to be losing her touch Review: I've been an avid reader of Jackie Collins since her early days. Although all her novels are diverting, the newer efforts just seem a bit stale, as if the author is trying to re-create a hit formula. "Lethal Seduction" falls short of her other novels, the characters aren't as likeable and interesting. Also, what happened to Wes, Silver Anderson's husband? (Hollywood Husbands) He and Silver were perfect together and he's not even mentioned. Rafaella from "Rock Star" seems to have been written out of Kris Phoenix's life as well which is disappointing. To be honest, these days I pick up Collins's novels in the hope that they'll get better.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: I HATED this book. I couldn't even get all the way through it. There was no plot at all, just sex. It wasn't even arousing sex; it was very boring. It is the worst book I have ever read, and I'd give it no stars if I could. I DO NOT recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Big Fan Review: I am a huge fan of Jackie Collins. Anyone who loves any of Jackie's previous novels will love "Lethal Seduction. Anyone who loves mystery, suspense and just a hint of love will love "Lethal Seduction."
Rating: Summary: Mystery? oh please Review: Nothing like a Jackie Collins book to keep your attention. Not only does she keep her dirty plots going in full swing, but she also tries to add a mystery into the plot. Stick to your day job, Jackie. If you are going to add the plot of a murder, why don't you finish it? There were few explanations into the cause of the murder, and many issues seemed unresolved at the end of the book. While it was a quick and easy read, it wasn't one of the better Collins' books I have read. Wait for someone to give it to you as a "hand me down".
Rating: Summary: Comically Entertaining Review: Jackie Collins doesn't write books in hopes of winning a Pulitzer Prize. They're meant to be humorous portrayals of the rich and famous. With Lethal Seduction, Ms. Collins is right on target. We're introduced to a slew of characters in two main storylines. The first involves a young woman named Madison Castelli and her friends and family. The other revolves around fading soap star Dexter Falcon and his spoiled, cheating wife, Rosarita, who is by far the funniest character in the novel. These stories take place separately in New York, but intertwine when the whole group goes to Vegas for a boxing match. All and all, a good book worthy of your time and money. This may be trash, but it's trash with style.
