Summary: A touching and mesmerizing book. A must read!
Review: I thought "She's Come Undone" could not be matched. "This I Know Is True" is a truly inspiring book. It will teach you about living life to the fullest regardless of the cards you are dealt. Everyone should read this book! I dare you not to cry at the end.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A pick-it-up-when-you-can book!
Review: I loved "She's Come Undone"... it made me want more. Now I get it with this great story of Dominick and Thomas (and their grandfather!) I kept this book with me everywhere I went these past 2 weeks so I could read every chance I got. Now, all I want to know is when is Mr. Lamb's next book coming, cause I'm ready for even more!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I very touching book. I could not put it down.
Review: I have to say it was one of my favorite books. I was a little scared by the 800 some pages at first, but when I finished it I wish it could have gone on even longer. The book will never leave my heart. It's a book that in the future I want to read again. I reccomend this book highly.

Summary: A true page-turner
Review: In a book this large, it is often difficult to make sense of the characters and story. Not so in Lamb's book. The depth with which he writes his characters showcases his unbelievable talent, and his great understanding of human nature. Understandably, I could not put this book down, and feel a great loss now that the novel has ended.

Summary: A charming, introspective, easy read.
Review: I literally finished this book five minutes ago and had to share my thoughts on it. In the last two days I have read a total of 500 pages--this is to demonstrate that one should not be deterred by the length of the book. I found reading 900 pages of the excellently-crafted novel easier than reading 20 pages of previous selections on my bookshelf. So it's an easy and (if you have as much spare time as me) quick read, but that doesn't mean it lacks depth. The main character--Dominick Birdsey--certainly doesn't lack development as the reader is invited along to his therapy sessions, and the lives of others who interact with him (especially those of his relatives) become just as intricately woven as they are discussed in his flashbacks and such. The plot isn't that difficult to comprehend--a man's need to help his mentally disabled twin leads to him examining his own life--and neither is the symbolism. I thought the monkey motif was a little too obvious and also a little irrelevant. There's a great twist at the end of the book, among some saccharine-sweet, tidy, tying-up the story developments. The novel is the perfect male counterpart to Lamb's earlier masterpiece, She's Come Undone, in the light that it works at dissecting the role of the male in modern society. As a man, I found every piece of commentary about male roles to be the insight I might have missed in "She's." Not that either sex should avoid either novel by filing them into "male" and "female" categories--it's just a different kind of journey for each sex. So if you have the time or not, you should definitely pick this one up and read it. And while you're at it, look for Lamb's other novel and any subsequent ones in the future.

Summary: One man's astonishing, heartfelt journey through his soul.
Review: I Know This Much Is True is an emotional saga, wrought with terror, beauty, wit, and insight. The voice of Dominick Birdsey is unflinching; he is able to look into the deepest regions of his soul and come out whole. His lessons are universal and difficult. Anyone who liked She's Come Undone will love this book, it is far superior in both quality and message.

Summary: One of the 10 best books I've ever read!
Review: Wally Lamb has done it again. Even more enjoyable then SHE'S COME UNDONE. A moving but yet sometime unrealistic read. Dominick seems to live a soap opera of a life but I was still unable to put it down. I've recommended it to several friends who have all enjoyed it as well.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I thought this book was wonderful, I never wanted it to end
Review: I totally enjoyed this novel and am looking forward to Lamb's next book. I never wanted the book to end, I simply wanted to just continue to read. I did read "she's come...." and "this much I know is true".....was by far the better of the two.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Human, Touching, Revealing! Read this book!
Review: Wally Lamb is a wonderful author--I loved She's Come Undone and was a little worried I might be disappointed in this one. To the contrary, it was better than I could have imagined! Lamb really gets into the heart of the characters--shows you who they are inside and out. You feel connected and emotionally involved. Please keep writing!

Summary: Absolutely the best!
Review: This is, without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read. I find it remarkable that Mr. Lamb, who has no personal family experience with schizophrenia, has delved so accurately and reflectively into the illness and its impact on relatives. I have recommended this book to mental health consumers, families, and fellow practitioners as well - it rings accurate and true. It has definitely assisted the general public to better understand the brain illness of schizophrenia, and the impact it has on family members. It's a must read, and definitely a tearjerker. Thank you, Wally, for a job very, very, very well done!
