Summary: Profound
Review: Only three novels have ever reduced me to tears. "Sophie's Choice" (many times) "The Triumph and the Glory" and now this towering novel, " I Know This Much is True". My Lord, what writing!

Summary: He did it again!
Review: I did not think he could top "She's Come Undone"but he did. I loved this book and could not put it down. The story of the Character's Grandfather was unbelievable. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Excellent subject, well-written, untastefully graphic.
Review: I am very interested in the subject matter of this book concerning schizophrenia, social work, government mental health agencies, family myths, and self-understanding. However, I think all of this could have been accomplished without the graphic discriptions of sexual dysfunction and the use of profanity and vulgar language. I agree with other reviewers that the book is monumental in its study of family psychology and self-acceptance but I was turned off by the vulgarity and want to warn others that it may be offensive.

Summary: Back home again!
Review: After living abroad (in Germany) for over 21 years, it was wonderful reading this book and re-living so many moments of my own past through the eyes of Dominic Birdsey. This book is so alive and real. Even the saddest parts warmed my heart.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best books I've ever read
Review: I thought this was a wonderful book, though I it ended up being too predictable. And too perfect in the ending. But it was still amazing.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Educational, enlightening, powerful, moving.
Review: Even in this amount of pages, no author can truly tell us anymore than Lamb has here. Schizophrenia, esp. in one's twin brother, is a thief of so very much - including clarity of thinking. Lamb has managed to grant the reader a katharsis and to take us inside the souls of these two complementary twins.

Summary: Incredible...truthful, real and brutally told.
Review: At first, I hated the main character and found it difficult to continue reading but, Lamb brilliantly weaved me in and solved some of my own "house of horrors" mysteries in his brilliant and honest story. The moment I finished the last page (all 900 of them), I went back to the beginning. This huge mosaic all fits together and you have to finally see it from a distance to appreciate that it's a masterpiece. I so recommend this novel that I am driving several hours tomorrow to personally deliver my copy to my sister and to hold her close to me. Thank you, Wally Lamb for the ending and for using your gift to better the human spirit of your readers.

Summary: This is the best book I have read in recent times!
Review: This complex story of family secrets, lies and enabling is a great depiction of how American families have become so dysfucntional and one member of the family, Dominick who is able to rise above it all and hold the family together.

This incredible novel touches on so many of the issues American families are dealing with today. Baby Boomers aging parents, chronic illness among siblings and a legal system in the US who is unclear as to who they are representing and who they are protecting! As a writer myself, I could only hope to create such a captivating novel as this one. I breezed through all 900 pages in 5 days! Well Done Wally!

Summary: Very thought provoking!
Review: I thought this book was extremelly well-written. I found it disturbing but in a good way. It is the kind of book, that you can put down after reading and know that you will never be the same again. I also was turned off by how long the novel was. I couldn't believe it when I finished it in one week! Lamb is an excellent story writer. I found it very thought provoking.
