Summary: Dynamic hero, convincing villains..... Best of the series!!!
Review: I have read almost all of John Sandford's "Prey" series, but the one that sticks in my mind most is this one, along with its sequel "Silent Prey". Lucas Davenport is an outstanding creation, in that Sandford never tries to make him a perfect, flawless man; we can relate to him better for this. And as for Michael Bekker and Carlo Druze... these guys are definitely the kind that one would expect to find inhabiting Hell in the afterlife; they were as real and 'there' as Davenport. I love Sandford's writing, and hope he continues with Davenport (or others like him) for many years to come.

Summary: There is no better then Sandford.
Review: Eyes of Prey was the first Prey book I read. I was hooked. I have read all of Sanfords books except Silent Prey, which I haven't been able to find yet. Being a ex Cop I think Davenport is the greatest. His books about Kidd & LuEllen are also great. He the only writer that when I start a book I don't want to put it down. How about another new book John!

Summary: Excellent Thriller
Review: This book got me hooked on John Sandford! I'm currently working my way throught ALL the Prey books now. Can't get enough of Lucas Davenport. Very Cool dude!

Summary: John, how did you do it??
Review: Talk about a complcated villan! Has there ever been another completely ruled by circumstances and a bizarre chain of events like this one? I have never read about a character as completely co-dependent upon every drug imaginable. He (the villan) carrys a cigar case full of different drugs everywhere he goes. He calls it Beauty. He has a briefcase at home, also full of every drug. He calls it the Mothership. He'll use different combinations of drugs for certain moods he feels obligated to project. Often, he catches himself, and sometimes in public, "dancing a jig" This story had so much dark comedy. I was at times horrified at the villan, but good god! All these visuals Sanford forces us to get--I thought the villan was funny as hell!

Summary: the ultimate
Review: I was hooked from my very first prey book.I have read them all and can't wait for the next one.I was dissapointed when i read them all and there were no more.I got so caught up in luca's life and need the next book to see if he gets married. He is a very likable character and gets you hooked from the start. It's hard not to like him.I need to read them again.I read only romance until lucas and didn't know i would like murder novels but he changed it all.now i read james patterson too.I couldn't put the books down and became part of them.a must .read the whole series if you read one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best book I have ever read
Review: I thought "Rules of Prey" could not be beaten. "Eyes of Prey" are better. Full of dramatic irony, with the witness to be found. What an idea!! Please, John, write more of those books!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: EYES OF PREY (also known as why I love lucas Davenport)
Review: John Sandford is the best crime writer I have ever managed to find. He is my hero and this is the book that started it all for me. I was sucked into a world where Lucas Davenport ruled and fought the baddies.
'Eyes of Prey' is an excellent book and Sandford suceeds where other writers fail. He sets up excellent characters, excellent scenes and belivable crimes.
I truely love this stuff and I cant wait for another Davenport book. It's a real pity that Lucas isnt a real person. John Sandford, you have made me VERY happy

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best of the "prey" series
Review: Lt. Davenport meets a truly chilling antagonist. A rather sick pathologist has teamed up with a more physical sociopath on a murder spree. Lt. Davenport's political difficulties at work prove to be more than a minor distraction.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You will want to read all the books in order!
Review: The reader is instantly engrossed in the story and the characters. Sandford's hero, Lucas Davenport is likeable and three-dimensional. The reader is drawn to his struggle to come to terms with his job in the police force, his responsibilities to a daughter he rarely sees, and his 'other' life as creator of fantasy war games/simulations. The antagonists in this book and the others featuring Lucas Davenport are chillingly real. The ready becomes easily engrossed in the plot as Lucas attempts to solve crimes both evil and frighteningly ingenous.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: When it comes to action, John Sandford is tops!!!
Review: Eyes of Prey and Sandford's other "Prey" books are absolutely tops when it comes to action-packed detective fiction. The action is not just shoot-outs and car chases, it goes much deeper as the author probes into the minds and motives of his characters. Sandford's books are free of the background "padding" that fills so many other detective novels. Every page is interesting and literally drags you along through the story. I often rue the cost of paperback books but never Sandford's--you get your full moneys worth and more.
