Rating: Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas Review: This was a great summer read!! Couldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: Sappy But Sweet...Slight Mystery Review: I liked it...I really did...but sappy lovestories are my undoing. Very similar to Nicholas Sparks books, but hey, I liked them too. So cuddle up on the sofa...turn on Delilah's love songs and a glass of wine and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Beautifully Written Review: Suzann's Diary is a beautifully written story of unconditional love. It will touch a very special place in your heart. This story is about the unexpected happening in one's life. It is the unexpected that makes you feel like you will never be able to draw another breath or take another step. If you do you will crumble in a million pieces and be blown around the universe forever. This is what happen's to the main character, Katie. Without giving any of the plot away, I will say that your emotions will go sky high on the Richter Scale. It is as soft and brezzy as I image the setting is on Maratha's Vinyard where most of the story takes place. James Patterson says, "It's probably closer to my life than anything I've written before." I say, "I want to meet you Mr. Pattersom."
Rating: Summary: A great, light read Review: I usually read more in the "literature" vein, but this book was an appealing, light read that was very satisfying emotionally. I have loaned my copy to two friends, who each finished it within two days and really enjoyed it. No, it's not great literature, but it didn't pretend to be. It was a fun book, kind of like seeing a summer blockbuster movie. And I liked the 3 page chapters because I could put it down whenever I needed to. I'd recommend it to all moms especially.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful storytelling; plot lacking Review: This is the first James Patterson book I've read. Stylistically, I thought it was wonderful. Beautiful language, descriptions, and lessons about life and love. However, the plot was somewhat contrived. It's fairly easy to figure out the ending, although he does put a surprise "twist" on it. After the last page, I threw the book down. He left too many unanswered questions.
Rating: Summary: A Fast Read Review: This was a good book to read on vacation or at the beach. It is light reading and it goes fast. I really did like it, but it is a little too predictable.
Rating: Summary: Not for real readers Review: If you like to read books, don't read this one. As the prior reviews have stated, it is shallow, Hallmark-esque, trite, cliched, tired and dumb. The font size is huge and each chapter is about 2.5 pages long, it really does look like the age-old trick of trying to fill up pages for your High School English teacher. Go to a card store, browse the shelves, it will be much more rewarding!
Rating: Summary: As bad as a Regency Romance Review: What a waste of reading time! As other reviewers have said, it's just page after page of melodramatic romantic cliches and flat characters. I thought the characters in this book were just cardboard, one-dimensional saps. I felt no connection to thm at all. Note to mention, the the poetry (I use the term loosely) that "Matt" wrote was painfully, page-skippingly bad. Even a mediocre story can be saved by great writing and an ear for good dialogue and romance. Unfortunately, this book isn't one of those gems.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I couldn't describe the warm feeling that this book gives you!
Rating: Summary: A truly touching book Review: I thought that this book was wanderful. It had a slow start, but the end was worth reading the book. It will make you cry and realize that life can be short if you take it for granted. I recomended this book to all my friends and my mom. So far everyone and great reviews for it. Give it a shot!
