Summary: Greater Love Hath No Woman
Review: I seldom read books written by celebrities as too often they are only self serving pap. HOWEVER, this is one of the greatest love stories of all times. Hard to imagine that a man who led such a busy life would find the time, inclination and energy to put his thoughts in writing. A greater gift I can't imagine. The thoughts that occurred to me were the minor things that made him and Nancy so happy with each other and with themselves. My husband was in the Air Force and was gone a lot and was constantly in touch with me either by phone or letter so I know how much it means to have someone thinking of you even when they are so busy and so far away.Thank you Nancy for sharing these intimate parts of your life with us. You have a wonderful husband and I am so sorry you can no longer communicate the way you would like to do. But in his own way somehow I know he is still communicating with you.

Summary: MORE THAN HISTORY, MORE THAN LOVE, MORE THAN ROMANCE
Review: This book is not only for those who seek words to express their love to his/her dear person. Nor this is for the historians to check some facts about the couple. The book is for every generation and most especially for the future generation who have become very indifferent to real love and affection. You will find Mrs. Ronald Reagan's comments in between the President's letters. I read the book now for several times and everytime I get tired and bored, I go to this book and the other one - "Reagan: In His Own Hand." I truly suggest to get these two books and you will have a wonderful set. The First Couple are shown here at full length - how they advocated the principles of the genuine family and American ideals. Do not hesitate - go and get this book!!!!! I also would recommend some video titles "Reagan" and "Tribute to Ronald Reagan." If your budget allows you, get "RONALD REAGAN, A GREAT COMMUNICATOR" as well!!! You will have a wonderful present for the 21st century American generation. They should know all about the Man, the Leader, the President and the Lifeguard who saved the lives of billions. So sad that many liberals take his merits and efforts and the results of them for granted, but so great that He is still so well-remembered around the world as we are in debt before Him. God Bless Mr. and Mrs.Ronald Reagan and God Bless the United States of America, the Proud Nation!

Summary: Last of the Great Love Stories
Review: Not surprisingly, Mrs. Reagan writes a lovely valentine to her husband, coupled with some love letters from the former President that both tickles me and warms my heart. To think that in this day and age, we are treated to something so full of love and caring, makes me believe in people all over again. Don't stop here, Mrs. R...how about another volume of the same?

Summary: A LOVE STORY AND HISTORY BOOK ALL IN ONE
Review: I grew up in a home of democrats. I also grew up to not like Ronald Regan for this reason. I recieved this book from a friend who told me I have to read it. Reluctantly, I started the book at about noon time, and to my surprise I had to reluctantly put this book down at the end of my lunch hour. This book is amazing. Ronald Regan was a wonderful writer. He expressed his thoughts within his love letters to Nancy. I also found out that I learned a little from this book also. I am only 25 yrs old and I learned so much about our nations history in their eyes (and I didn't even know it.) I also found that this is a very easy book to read. This is definately for someone who is not an avid reader because you can flow through it easily. One last note on this book... YOU WILL BE SURPRISED! Trust a non-avid reader who read this book in one day.

Summary: A good read
Review: Well, I don't use words like cloying, infantlized, or venal in regular conversation, so I don't know if this review will help or not. This book, to me, shows that Reagan was just a nice guy who was able to tell his wife over and over that he loved her. (It was also much better than his fictional biography). What I see is that the reviewers who hated the book basically hated the people behind the book, and that is what colors their reviews. Thanks to Mrs. Reagan for sharing these letters, notes, and doodles, as well as her thoughts behind them. The book is very touching and sweet. If you can't handle that, try Anne Rice!

Summary: The Tear Moving Truth of Pure Love
Review: This book is priceless. If you are on the fence on whether to buy it or not, think no more and put it in your cart. You will be so glad you did. I had no idea that this book, this true, sincere love story, would put me under such a spell! Once you pick it up, you can't put it down. This unbelievable, undeniable, indescribable (although I'm trying) love that these two share is a legacy and thankfully Mrs. Reagan put it down on paper for us. Regardless of your political views, this will move you to both laughing and crying. Also a great gift for others: think Valentine's Day! (or anytime)

Summary: As bad as it gets
Review: It is a tribute to the narcissism of Nancy Reagan that she published these letters, which reveal how infantilized our ex-president was in this cloying relationship, and how insipid his mode of expression when he didn't have his speechwriters handy. I know many people will think this is love, because Ronnie and Nancy call it that again and again and again and again, but really there are better words for it: pathological dependence, adolescent longing, Hallmark Card sentimentality. For those who take Ronnie's clinging neediness at face value--there is no reason not to--they might reflect on what a venal, shallow, and mean-minded person Nancy Reagan is. Doesn't the quality of a man's love depend at least in part upon the worthiness of the object of that love?

Summary: The dual reading brings these letters alive
Review: Leo Burmester and Allison Daugherty read this abridged collection of the letters of Ronald Reagan to Nancy, written from the 1950s when they met up through the 1990s. The dual reading brings these letters alive and paints an intimate autobiographical portrait of the two.

Summary: Im not political, just a romantic
Review: I have no interest whatsoever in politics, dont affiliate one way or another, and so I dont love or hate Ronald Reagan, or rather my opinion was such before I picked up this book. I was standing in the bookstore when I started reading I love you, Ronnie, and before I knew it tears were running down my face, tears of joy in their love, tears of happiness in their little inside jokes, and tears of saddness for their loss in the treachery of Alzheimers. My only hope is to find a man who adores me as much as Ronnie adores Nancy. What a sweetheart, and I now have an opinion on the man who was, in my youth, not only president but a husband in love with his wife.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Sweet and touching, but . . .
Review: This is a sweet and touching tribute to a much-loved husband. I found the letters moving and endearing. It's an inside look into the heart and soul of one of America's strongest leaders.

BUT, editorally, I did think it was slightly disorganized. I would have enjoyed it more had it maintained a chronological flow. I had to take away one star for that.

As for the last reviewer who feels the Reagans are just out for $$- he or she obviously did not read the prologue where Nancy reveals that she is donating proceeds from the book to benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation and the Reagan Library.
