Rating: Summary: Awesome story... Review: JUST READ IT.... When you get started you will be surprized, thrilled, angry and whatever other feeling you can get from 2 very incredible creeps. We saw the movie and although some of the book plot was not included, the movie was still as good. I had to go find the skin I jumped out of, several times.
Rating: Summary: Yawn. Review: I give this book a 3 only because it provided some marginally interesting details left out by the movie, which is why I read it. Hardly compelling at all, though it tries so hard to be, this tale is a better movie than a novel, an almost unheard of embarrassment.
Rating: Summary: About A Great Book Names Kiss The Girls Review: James Patterson's Kiss The Girls is a page-turner. Written in short 2-3 page chapters you cannot stop in between. Everyone is a suspect in this great mystery novel. Definitly worth the read. This book is one in a series of Cross detective books and definitly one of the best ones (there are currently four books in the set).
Rating: Summary: This book was well written Review: I read this book all in one night. It was very well written. The suspense keeps you turning the pages, but I do not recommend it if you have a weak stomach. I felt like I was part of the action (Dr.Kate McTiernan). After I finished reading the book, I was afraid to turn out the lights. Excellent book!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent thriller -- couldn't put it down! Review: "Kiss the Girls" kept me on tenterhooks until the very end. The detective, Alex Cross, is a modern, down to earth man from SE DC. He goes at the case logically, though the emotion is there since his niece is involved. And, just when you think you've caught on, Patterson shows the other hand, and you are trying to figure out who-dun-it all the way to end. The writing is excellent. The action keeps you on your toes. I have recommended this book to many. I bought it because of the high recommendations I received from total strangers. This is a "must" read for anyone who like "psycho-drama."
Rating: Summary: The worst psychological torture is reserved for the reader. Review: I admit I kept up to the bitter end, against my better judement. You do want to know how it ends, but you shouldn't have to make the dull and meandering trip required just to do it. There are holes in this plot large enough to drive herds of critics through. Victims are stupid, but they're only matched, or exceeded by the police and FBI. If you've ever shouted "look behind you" or " don't go into the basement" at a slasher movie on the screen, you'll shout yourself hoarse at this book. Just one small example, a serial killer and victim are followed to a remote cabin by police and FBI. When the victim screams for help, the authorities fail to 1) disable the killers car, 2) block the car/driveway, 3) seal off the exits to the cabin. I'm still wondering why the killer and the FBI didn't pass each other in the doorway. Perhaps they did. The plot is just full of things like this and worse. To add to the fun, the style is verbose and the timing glacial. Next time, just publish the first page and last page, or better yet, just give it a pass.
Rating: Summary: One Fun Read, Definately Worth the Buy Review: This book is one fun read. I really enjoyed the machine gun staccato feel of the short chapters which hardly gives the readers a chance to catch their breath. The characters are written in a way that they are very believable yet there actions do sometimes seem absurd. I enjoyed that the hero of the story isn't your typical run of the mill detective and that the case was in direct conflict with his feelings. It keeps you guessing as to the killer yet does fall somewhat flat when the case is solved. I would definately recommend this book, especially if you have a long flight
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I have read in a long time. Review: Patterson kept me reading throughout the night. I was enthralled with the novel. It was terrifying but exciting at the same time. I would reccomend it to anyone. It will keep you guessing right up to the end
Rating: Summary: AMAZING!!!!! Review: Actually my brother read it first and recommended it to me. After I read it I gave it to my sister, after that I gave it to my girlfriend. We all thought it was amazing. The only bad thing about reading this book is that I lost A LOT of sleep...
Rating: Summary: This novel is simply terrible. Review: The incredible popularity of this novel boggles the mind. Reading this novel left this reader believing that Patterson penned it for the sole purpose of putting new product on bookstore shelves. Weak characters, inane plot twists, and numerous mentions of brand name products (if you like commercials, watch TV) prevented this reading from suspending disbelief - a necessity to enjoy a work in this genre. For example, a young woman is kidnapped, beaten, and repeatedly raped by a serial rapist-kidnapper-murderer. However, after her release from the hospital she goes back to the same apartment from which she was kidnapped and the police fail to keep surveillance over her residence. Even more unbelievably, she develops romantic feelings for one of the detectives on the case almost immediately after her release from the hospital. A wholely unbelievable scenario. Consider spending your time and money on a Sherlock Holmes novel instead of this inane, advertisement filled drivel
