Summary: Jack Ryan's Star Wars
Review: Another Clancy novel that proves that the man is a master when it comes to telling a riveting story. This time Jack Ryan is out to stop the Soviets from completing a Star Wars defense system along the lines of the U.S.'s. Along the way he crosses paths with a double-dealing GRU agent, the ambitious head of the KGB and even the President of the Soviet republic. This is also the first novel in which that great Clancy character John Clark appears as well as the second for Marco Ramius and the focus of Clancy's first novel, the 'Red October.' If you're a Tom Clancy fan than this is a novel that won't let you down.

Summary: Cardinal of the Kremlin
Review: I thought that this was a great way for Clancy to tie together some loose ends. The way hetells about the escape certainly seemed realistic.

Summary: another 5 star book by Tom Clancy
Review: It's amazing how Clancy combines technical facts and thrilling action into one book, tieing you into the world of spys and counter-spys. A high placed informer in the Kremlin itself get's discovered by the KGB. Both sides try to get him first now. It all ends in a dramatically deliverance from the most feared prison of "Mother Russia". While in the same time The Soviets' high security military project starts to burn. A real masterpiece of modern literature and a must-have for every Clancy or Spy Novel fan

Summary: Great Story Almost Hacked to Death
Review: David Stiers does a great job with the voice characterizations of this Tom Clancy best seller; you will have no problem keeping the multitude of characters straight. My biggest disappointment was in how far down they had trimmed the rendition. For those of you who have not read the book the audio will be very good, but you will find the characters lacking depth and the story literally whizzing along without really being that riveting. Still, the audio is crisp and clear in a car environment and will be entertaining. 3 hours.

Summary: Too long-winded!
Review: I know just about every Tom Clancy novel has turned into some blockbuster movie, and I can understand why. All of his books are really pretty good overall, but they are too long-winded in one area: descriptions of airplanes, trains, submarines, etc. I get kind of lost when he goes into describing what some piece of equipment looks like from the inside out.

However, this book was really good if for nothing else than the spy thrilling part of it. I'm a spy-thriller lovin' kind of gal. I didn't want to put the book down for fear the CARDINAL would get killed.

I would not recommend this book for someone who does not like descriptive talk on transportation vehicles, but if you like a good spy story, this is the one to buy.

Summary: One of Clancy's Best
Review: I believe this book was one of Clancy's best. I'd say it's my second favorite after "Without Remorse"

Summary: An Excellent Story - True Clancy Brilliance!
Review: When I first read the summary of this book many years ago and was considering reading it, I wasn't sure if this would interest me as much as Clancy's other books had such as 'The Hunt for Red October' and 'Patriot Games'. From the first few chapters this book had my interest! It carries with it a brilliant plot that unfolds as you go involving the world of cold war espionage. A Russian patriot never suspected by his fellow comrades is one of the CIA's oldest informers, and also their most ellusive, even to them! It is a wonderful story filled with intrique that will keep you reading to the end. I really enjoyed this one.

Summary: Near The Top
Review: With CotK, Tom Clancy hit a new level of his writing. While CotK is more in the "technothriller" vein that Clancy seemed to start (and has now eschewed), it is still an excellent novel for those unfamiliar with the technical issues at hand.

The treatment of the major protagonist, Mikhail Filitov, is above average for Clancy; we see a broken man looking on his past to strengthen him for the present, for at his age, the future means very little. Jack Ryan is, of course, a major player, but he is still in the more enjoyable (and fallible) phase of his character's career.

This book isn't the best by Clancy in my opinion -- _Without Remorse_ holds claim to that title -- but CotK is pretty high up there. It's a worthy read if you're new to Clancy and want some backfill on the story.
