Summary: Still the Best Clancy Book
Review: I am an avid reader of Tom Clancy novels and this is still my favorite of all. A very fast paced, action laced book with a few plot turns to keep you guessing. Excellent book for the first time reader of Mr. Clancy. As we know Mr. Clancy is getting VERY wordy with each new book he writes, but this one he hit the mark.

Summary: ASTOUNDING! AMAZING!
Review: When I originally took this book off my grandpa's shelf, I wasn't thrilled about it. I had heard it was absolutely amazing, that it was a Jack Ryan book, but...the old copy I had in my hands just didn't grasp my attention. I shrugged anyway, took it with me, and put it on my shelf. I had two other Ryan novels to read! I quickly raced through both THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER and PATRIOT GAMES and, amazingly, found it time to start through THE CARDINAL OF THE KREMLIN. Almost immediately Ryan's vulnerabilities and cluelessness kept me in the game. There was the ruthless KGB, Gerisamov's lust for power, Filitov and his agony over betraying his country, the SDI research, and finally the confrontations between Ryan and Golovko. The plot thickened, as usual, and I became far more wrapped up in the novel. What makes this book so amazing? Perhaps it's Clancy's graceful writing, his in-depth research into SDI, or maybe his feel for the intensity between the United States and the Soviet Union. Whatever it was, Ryan's cleverness added onto the sheer power of the book... ...and makes it one of Clancy's best to date...

Summary: An adequate early work
Review: I read this one some years ago and have read quite a few of Mr. Clancy's other works since then. It is a very good techno-thriller and gives an early glimpse into Jack Ryan, the predominant "hero" in his books. I think I'll dig it out and read it again!

Summary: Clancy's Best
Review: Cardinal of the Kremlin is without a dought Tom Clancy's best book ever. It was the third Clancy book I read and it was the one that really made me take notice of what a great author Mr. Clancy really is. I will forever be a Tom Clancy fan. Everyone should read this book. It is truly wonderful.

Summary: An outstanding example of internal-espionage!
Review: Traitor or a Patriot? You decide, having fought for his country he now sees a system that is not accountable to the people, country or a war hero! Bitter over the death of your loved ones where do you turn? Technology that seems futuristic? Is it here now? Rebels fighting for their homeland, all this and more in a spell binding novel. If I could give it ten stars I would.

Summary: Intriguing and well written
Review: This is a good spy/techno thriller. I also recommend a couple of other good books I've read on reader's recommendations: any of Bob Mayer's special forces books. Joe Dalton's THE OMEGA MISSILE. And Bob McGuire's THE LINE and THE GATE.

Summary: Clancy has done it again!!!
Review: Chalk up another great one for clancy, Cardinal of the Kremlin will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you won't be able to put it down. This shows Ryan in good detail, and leaves mystery around "Mister Clark" I recommend it for anyone who liked Red October & Red Storm Rising.

Summary: One of Clancy's best
Review: I read CARDINAL a few years ago whilst on jury duty. Couldn't wait for the court to be in recess to get back to the main reason I showed up for jury duty (to catch up on my reading). I kept picturing Leo McKern (aka Rumpole of the Bailey) as the Cardinal. What a great book!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: I enjoyed this book, but would have preferred more plot
Review: Good book, but too much technical jargon
