Rating: Summary: Exciting adventures for primary/early-elementary readers. Review: Reading this book to my second grade students, I experienced something very new--high interest and attention of my class, even though the llustrations in this chapter book are black & white. The children listened to the story carefully as Stanley waited on the portrait's frame for the robbers, and they laughed out loud as Stanley became tangled in the tree when his brother forgot about the new "kite." This story was fun for the students thhear, and it was fun for me to read.
Rating: Summary: Flat Stanley Review: The genre of this book is very humorous because when he gets flat it is not very real. It is creativity. The people who would enjoy it I think would be aged between 8-12. This story is about a boy named Stanley getting flattened by a pinboard. His brother gets jealous and finds out he can do a lot of things with a flat brother. Flat Stanley is the main character. He's very happy about being flat because he can do a lot of things such as getting in a large envelope and being sent away. It is a lot of fun to read but it is not realistic. Flat Stanley is very humorous when you read it you picture it in your mind you think it it is real. I think this book is awesome and I would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Rating: Summary: Flat stanley Review: This is a book about a boy that was squashed by an erase board that his dad gave him. All of the kids at school were jealous because he could slide under doors and fly himself like a kite. You should read this book if you like easy-read books about an inch-thick children.

Rating: Summary: A winner Review: This is the cute story of a little boy named Stanley. He wakes up one morning flat. He was flattened by a bulletin board that fell on him. Stanley finds many advantages to being flat- he is able to catch art robbers and be flown as a kite. He also finds many disadvantages to being flat. This book is a great book for opening discussion with your child-What are the advantages of being you? What do you wish you could change? How can you change? and so on. This is also a great book for letting your child make his own flat stanley and send it off to friends for an adventure. Many schools are doing this now. A great way to teach geography. There is a website based on this type of activity a search for flat travelers should bring it up. Well worth the money. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Very funny imaginative book Review: This was one of my favorite books as a child. It stimulates the imagination and puts a positive spin on what could be seen as tragedy. It also teaches that there is value in being different - a lesson that we all need to learn!
Rating: Summary: This book touched me and I haven't even read it Review: Today I recieved a letter in the mail from my little brothers class in school. I live in California, so his class decided to send a little flat Stanley to me so I could take him on adventures and send back pictures of what we did together. This book touched me and I haven't even read it. Just that my brother and his class would want to involve me in this, that it was that good of a book to them, makes it a 5* for me as well.
Rating: Summary: A great imaginative classic Review: Twenty or so years ago, my best friend J.C. Brown gave me a copy of Flat Stanley, written by his dad and inspired by J.C.'s childhood fear of being flattened by a falling bulletin board. I'm about to read it for the first time to my 4.5-year-old nephew, and the book is as good as ever. Highly recommended.
