Summary: It may come to this
Review: Great book! It was the second Vince Flynn book I read, and it's probably my favorite.

Michael O'Rouke, the main character, is a likable new senator. He struggles with being an honest politician in a system where he is in the vast minority.

You can tell the author is as tired of self serving politicians as most of us are, but he gets this across in a less heavy handed manner than some other writers, such as Willian W Johnstone, who in recent years tries to pound his opinions in over and over.

It may be that a few years from now we will look back and see that someone has taken Flynn's ideas and tried to make them real. Let's hope it never comes to that.

The book is fast paced, with only a few slow spots. You will be hoping that each corrupt politican will be the next to go, and clapping when some of the more unsavory people get their just rewards. Enjoy the good guys, they show up in later books.

Summary: Great plot, and incredible detail!
Review: The author did an incredible job with the plot, and I was amazed at the technical details interspersed among the pages.

Without giving away the plot, this book describes what, in the back of our minds, we all fear REALLY goes on in Washington, and in fact sometimes really does. I found myself actually siding with the "terrorists," hoping they'd continue to strike!

A few of Flynn's characters are a bit hokey at times, but overall the dialogue flows naturally and is well-written. The primary way I judge a book is by how difficult it is for me to set it down before I'm finished--this one was difficult to do so.

The only reason I didn't give this book 5-stars, was the R-rated language used at times. It was totally and completely unnecessary.

Summary: A political thriller and then some!
Review: Fast paced and easy to read, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Vince Flynn creates a provocative, but plausible option for dealing with corrupt politicians in order to bring about government reform. All of the power brokers in Washington are hoping they themselves are not the next target. A page turner you won't be able to put down. An incredible debut book! Watch out Tom Clancy!

Summary: An interesting , thought provoking analysis of true governme
Review: Mr.Flynn has written a very fast pace novel of intrigue, suspence and technical thrilling adventure. My only negative thought about the story line is that Flynn bases his characters actions on the ideals of forcing Congress to pay off the National debt and balance the budget. What he has failed to understand is that the only way to pay off the National debt would be to abolish the Federal Reserve Act, resore the Constitutionally mandated gold and silver based currency our Republic was founded upon, and to force Congress and the American public to become debt free as well as accountable for current and future government growth. This by its nature would reduce government and make "We the People" take our responsibilities more serious as well as hold our selves accountable for our actions in the ballot box.

Summary: This Book Was Hard to Put Down
Review: When a friend handed this book to me, he only stated that it was a 'good read.' That was an understatement. The first chapter pulls you in with clock-like action that sets the momentum for the rest of the book. Having some familiarity with the military, I was pleasantly suprised with the level of detail the author put into his writing. The details are rolled out very smoothly, integrated well with the story line. After I finished it, I went out and bought the author's next two books. It was hard to believe that this was his first novel.

Summary: Start here - and you'll have to read them all
Review: It's been a while since I've wanted to read all of an author's work. Usually I'll borrow an audiobook or two and not get that excited. Vince Flynn is the first author since Katherine Neville and Michal Crichton that I couldn't put down and ran out to buy everything I could.

This book has a unique plot and really leads you to see the U.S. political arena though some new perspectives without getting bogged down in specifics. I found myself in an almost uncomfortable realization that Flynn has designed one of the only probable ways that true reform might happen in our country. It is either this scenario, or perhaps an economic depression, but in any case, the book is enjoyable, fast-paced, and a great start to a great sereis of books.

Summary: I lost a lot of sleep this week.
Review: I usually read for about a half hour before going to sleep. Since I started Term Limits I have been staying up all night reading. I can't put it down! I've been carrying it around so I can sneak a few lines in when there's time. The writing isn't going to win any awards but that doesn't matter because I'm reading so fast I don't really notice. Get it.

Summary: Good Writing Doesn't Matter
Review: If Flynn can get published, then anyone with a strong, exciting plot should be able to get published.

The plot does show much research and inside information, and it is fast-moving and maybe not so implausible after Sept. 11.

However, the writing is horrible! Flynn makes many basic grammar errors. And his sentences are so amateurish that I thought I was reading a 1930's dime novel (or the worst of pulp fiction). His vocabulary is slangy and unimaginative. He is especially partial to this phrase: "....want to get ahold of...."

Frequently writers' manuscripts are turned down because their writing is amateurish. What happened here?

Summary: Term Limits Races on....
Review: Vince Flynn is a master of suspense. This political thriller is ideal for a wide variety of readers. My husband, teenage son, and myself, all with different reading interests, thoroughly enjoyed this book, along with the rest of the series. Mitch Rapp is a character who pulls you into the action and demands your attention. These books are truly not to be missed. Intense drama, suspense, and interpersonal relationships, what more can one ask for?

Summary: Page turner for USSF fans
Review: This as described is a real page turner especially for Clancy's fans. I just bought it at the airport and read the critics on the cover that said "Clancy! Watch your back".
