The two meet in a bar and decide to keep parts of their pasts hidden. He hides the fact that he has an ex-wife and a child; she hides the fact that she left New York because of her ex who left her tapped out financially not to mention emotionally.Vince and Dana embark on a relationship that seems destined for the altar. They are chugging along nicely until the truth derails their love train. The big question then becomes will love conquer all? Rating: Summary: Once Again... Review: it's on! He's done it again. This book, much like Cheaters and Friends and Lovers, will not disappoint. Liar's Game was great - beginning to end, and everything that I'd been anticipating. The characters are once again, people you can definitely identify with and feel totally familiar with. I started reading this book as soon as I got home from work, and COULD NOT put it down. I read it beginning to end in a few hours, and am proud to say that laid it down feeling very satisfied with the complete story, and eagerly anticipating this author's next masterpiece! You're one of the best, Eric! Keep up the excellent work.
Rating: Summary: HE DUN DUN IT AGAIN ( I'm from the South ya'll) Review: This is the fifth novel that this man has written and I enjoyed this one just as much as I enjoyed Cheaters and the other titles. They just keep getting better and better. The characters in this novel will keep you wondering about their actions and their intentions with one another. This book is definitely a must read to anyone! I am so proud to see my fellow Memphian represent and bring it on home. Eric Jerome Dickey has some serious writing skills and he was blessed with the pen, mind, and imagination to tell a good story. It took me 2 days to read this novel. I can't wait for the other one.
Rating: Summary: Dickey has done it AGAIN! Review: What an excellent read! This book is compelling; Dickey has the skill to make you care about these well-developed characters, to feel what they are feeling, to race to the very fulfilling finish. And once I arrived there at the finish, I found a mature ending with satisfying answers in the midst of thought-provoking questions...go ahead and read it...you'll understand what I mean. I hesitate to compare Liar's Game to Dickey's other books...only because it is a work that is worthy enough to stand on its own. But, if one absolutely *must* compare, I would say that it reigns stellar; in Liar's Game, Dickey surpasses his well-mastered skills of character development and plot complexity. Not to mention some very HOT, turn-on-the-air-conditioner, MyMyMy scenes of intimacy...
Rating: Summary: He did it again! Review: I finished Liar's Game in one day. Not because it was an easy read, or lacked substance. I read through breakfast, peeked at work, and stayed up until I finished it. The book was fantastic. The characters were lively, and the relationships in the story were heated. Lies, sex, and surprises that made your mouth drop. There were also lines in the book that made you laugh out loud. Phrases that hit home, and spoke with todays language. I bought the book for my trip, and I have finished it already. I guess I just have to hope Dickey turns another one soon.
Rating: Summary: CAPTIVATING, INTENSE AND EXPLOSIVE! Review: When I first started reading Liar's Game, I felt a little disappointed because it started rather slow but did it ever build up to become intense and explosive. Vince is a man of my dreams sensitive, yet strong in a quiet manner. Dana a childish naive women, who learned that Cinderella is a fantasy that is not based on real life. Womack a good father who learned how to become a good husband. Rosa Lee a good mother, friend and wife learned how to share her dreams with her family. Harmonica, the fist that kept the family together. Malaika, learned you cannot rewrite the past. Daddy's are very important in every childs life read this book, learn from the characters mistake and never, never let it happen to you. Eric what can I say you have never disappointed me in all five of your books. I pre-ordered this book three months in advance because you have always kept me wanting more. Thanks and keep those stories coming!
Rating: Summary: Mr. Hurt meets Miss Hurt Review: Liar's Game was an easy, breezy read. It definately held my attention, although some of the descriptions were a bit verbose. Mr. Dickey has infused Liar's Game with various sayings that are quite catchy. The story line was relatively solid. Although Vince and Dana had tourtuous histories, I don't believe that their subsequent acts of violence were necessary. One question: If Vince was so devastated by Kwanzaa's forced absence from his life, why did he not pursue the child in the airport (read the ending) with the same intensity? Hmmmm... I look forward to Eric Jerome Dickey's next novel.
Rating: Summary: No Comparison Review: The male Terry "who"? This book should end any comparison to any other writer. Reading a book by Eric J. Dickey is like licking chocolate chip cookie dough out of a bowl. Liar's Game was better than good. There is no need for details about the story. If you have enjoyed at least one of Dickey's books, you will definitely LOVE this one!
Rating: Summary: Liar's Game Review: I have read all of Eric Jerome Dickey's books and it amazes me that he keeps getting better and better. The depth of the characters, flow of the storylines contemporary writing style makes it easy to lose yourself in Dickey's stories. Dickey takes a realistic approach to realistic challenges, fears and obstacles. The storyline is real, the outcome believable, this is great work!
