Summary: Mary Higgins Clark does it again!
Review: Erin Cunningham March 2, 1999 Let Me Call You Sweetheart By: Mary Higgins Clark. ****(4 stars) She Can't Be Stopped! Summary: A minor accident in her daughter's life brings prosecutor Kerry McGrath into some very dangerous situations. Mary Higgins Clark, author of many best selling novels, pleases her fans yet again with Let Me Call You Sweetheart. This novel is filled with exciting twists and turns, many of which you never see coming. In this way, Clark keeps you glued to the pages wanting to read more and find out what will happen next. This story takes place in the life of Kerry McGrath. She is a single mother and a prosecutor who raises her ten-year-old daughter practically by herself. When, her daughter, Robin, is in a minor accident, Kerry is brought to the office of plastic surgeon, Dr. Smith. Kerry eventually connects the doctor to an old murder case and reopens the investigation of this Sweetheart Murder. In this case, Dr. Smith's daughter, Suzanne, was murdered. Kerry's investigation leads to grave danger for her and her daughter. Many people involved in this case soon want to stop Kerry from this investigation any way that they can. Dr. Smith expresses his determination to stop Kerry when he states, " ...Kerry McGrath would not let Suzanne rest. Questions and more questions! She had to be stopped. Let the dead bury the dead. That's the old saying, he thought, and it's still true. She would be stopped, no matter what." Yet through all this danger Kerry continues her investigation. Eventually, this determination has deadly costs. This book also has an important theme. It teaches us that if we believe in something, we should work to accomplish this goal and be true to ourselves regardless of what other people say and think. The character of Kerry McGrath teaches us this. She believes that there was an injustice in the Sweetheart Murder case. Despite all the objections she gets, Kerry reopens the case and works her hardest to prove a man is innocent. This is an example that we can all learn from and follow. Mary Higgins Clark certainly keeps you turning the pages in this novel. Her characters are so real and identifiable that it is hard to comprehend that they are only fictional. Every moment of this book has you wondering what will happen next. Even when the book is over, you want to know what happens to the characters. You want to see what will happen in the characters' future. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Let Me Call You Sweetheart by Mary Higgins Clark. Once I picked the book up and began reading, it became very hard for me to put the book down. Mary Higgins Clark is an excellent writer who can't (and shouldn't) stop writing thrilling books. As one critic said, in this book "Mary Higgins Clark reminds us that she is, indeed, America's Queen of Suspense."

Summary: Outstanding usage of suspense and changes.
Review: I loved this book. The usage of suspense keeps the reader holding on up till the very end. The change of events makes the mystery so much better to uncover. The book keeps you up all night justing daring you to finish it.

Summary: About average
Review: The fast-paced storytelling and likable heroines are vintage Clark, but the story is marred by an ending that manages to be both predictable and inconceivable at once. Not really worth your time. Go check out A CRY IN THE NIGHT instead.

Summary: This book was a great mystery that everyone should read.
Review: Let Me Call You Sweetheart

I felt that this was a very good novel. Mary Higgins Clark pulls you right into the book. She has you guessing a new person until the end. This is a mystery book, that I feel everyone who enjoys mysterious or thrilling books should read. This book has to do with a prominent lawyer who takes her daughter to a plastic surgeon (because of an accident) and ends up with a strange case a her hands. Kerry McGrath, the main character is connected to this odd and twisted mystery from 10 years prior. Little does she know, but she has more in common with this murder than meets the eye. I think that this book could be one of the best books that I ever read, I would definitely recommend this to another person.

Summary: SO AND SO KINDA BOOK.
Review: I LOVED TO FIND OUT THAT THE KILLER WAS...WELL I DON'T WANT TO TELL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT BUT ANYWAYS THATS WHAT I LOVED THE MOST ABOUT THIS BOOK. THERE WAS ONE QUESTION I HAD AFTER I FINISED THE BOOK...DID THEY GET MARRIED? MCS DIDN'T TELL US AND THAT REALLY, REALLY BUGGED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. COURT CASESES HAVEN'T REALLY ENTRALLED ME EITHER AND IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FINISH IT. SO I WOULD HAVE TO RATE THIS BOOK AT FIVE STARS. SORRY.

Summary: "Let Me Call You Sweetheart"
Review: Kerry McGrath sees Suzanne Reardon in the plastic surgeon's waiting room. No big deal, right? It wouldn't be- except Suzanne Reardon is dead, murdered by her husband. So why does her face show up in the waiting room of Dr. Charles Smith? Even stranger- Dr. Smith is Suzanne's father. Why would he put her face on other women? As Kerry wonders this, she stumbles onto the Sweetheart Murder Trial, a trial that took place ten years ago. She finds that perhaps Skip Reardon is innocent, and Dr. Smith's testimony could be giving the real murderer a free ride. As Kerry goes deeper into the investigation, she is warned in many ways to stop. Her daughter, Robin, is attacked by a car. Jonathan Hoover warns her to lay off the case, reminding her that it could affect her chances of becoming a judge. Jimmy Weeks threatens her. However, with the support and help of Geoff Dorso and many others, Kerry continues the case. But can she find the killer before the killer finds her? I absolutely loved this book! It was very intriguing, and a wonderful page-turner. I loved the plot twist at the end. I never would have guessed who the murderer was! I can't wait to read more of Marry Higgins Clark's books. I would recommend this to anyone age eleven and up, even if they don't generally read mystery books. I usually choose books from different genres, but this was superb. After all, Mary Higgins Clark really is 'America's Queen of Suspense'!

Summary: Fast read with a surprising solution
Review: This was a very entertaining book. Several suspects are presented to the reader, and all seem quite plausible. This book is a good, fast read. My problem with the book is that several of the characters are left at loose ends once the crime is solved. Furthermore, this book is not nearly as good as "I'll Be Seeing You." That was the first Mary Higgins Clark title that I had read; maybe I was spoiled.
