Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a GREAT yarn
Review: wonderful story, and great characters. Historical and adventure and romance all in one neat package.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Captivating, quick read.
Review: An excellent read, a captivating novel that you will not want to put down. You'll find yourself absorbed in the character's and the realities of their everyday life. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good historical fiction but the romance is disappointing
Review: Donati does a good job of using characters from James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking tales and the book appears to be very well-researched. I thought the descriptions of living in the wilderness were the best parts. The romance could have used some work, though. I thought Donati gave too much away about what was going to happen. I was disappointed that the romance was pretty much resolved after only 200 pages. She needed to have more suspense involved with the romance.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fast paced, exciting plot, interesting characters
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were extremely interesting. Since I read the book Last of the Mohichans, it was fun remembering the original characters in Fenimore's book and seeing who they have become in Donati's. I am also a fan of Gabaldon; the brief description of Jamie and several other book characters were nicely intertwined. The plot was fast paced and well written. I enjoy intelligent dialogue.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: compelling characters, enthralling story
Review: I never would have believed a sequel to LAST OF THE MOHICANS would work, but this novel delivers as a romance, an action/adventure story, and as historical fiction. Elizabeth and Nathaniel are compelling characters, richly developed, and the secondary characters are all uniformly fascinating. The story drew me in and held me in its grip until the last page. I don't often anticipate sequels, but I'm looking forward to Donati's follow-up to INTO THE WILDERNESS.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very interesting with real characters
Review: This is an interesting historical romance. There were a few places where the storyline didn't quite hold together (Where did the red dog come from? How did Elizabeth learn to swim so well so quickly?) Overall, though, the book held my interest and the setting was very well-developed.

Summary: Two Weeks? No, Just Two Days!
Review: I bought this on the second day of my two-week holiday on the other side of our continent, thinking it would last the entire time. Wrong! Just two days and I learnt from the last page there was a sequel. I found the imagery so real and my ever increasing interest in Native American culture and spirituality found new horizons. My daughter has just advised, 'Chapter 3 and I'm hooked.' Thank you, Sara Donati, for a wonderful book and please hurry with that sequel!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Excellent and Exciting Story!
Review: A heart-palpitating adventure and a wonderful love story to boot! This is one of those books where you call into work sick, disconnect your phone, ignore your e-mail, and let the plants/spouse/pets or other critters you live with fend for themselves. Quite an intelligently-written book; the characters are well-developed, the plot is excellent, the love story moving, and the scenery beautiful. Enjoy!!

Summary: This book was a disappointment.
Review: I was fooled from the beginning! The inticing cover and the flap "blurb" led me to believe this would historical fiction. In fact, this books is nothing more than a thinly disguised "bodice ripper". I think the idea of the book had potential, but it never came close to what it could have been. Instead, it became a book about how and when the main character would have sex! I would not recommend this book to anyone who might be looking for plot or developed characters.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I DID NOT WANT THIS BOOK TO END.
Review: I am not often moved to review a book, but I really did escaped into this one. Although not the best book I have read,I really loved it. I wish I could write a first novel like this!! Well done Sara Donati.Cannot wait for the sequel.
