Summary: Liberals beware
Review: Ann Coulter has compiled a devastating fusillade to those of the liberal spectrum still left holding the Left's tattered and torn banner post-9/11.

Liberals, you are really better off to remain in your bitter and spiteful delusions, unless you are prepared to open up your door to the Left's constant, consistent failures, both in politics, and in the court of public opinion

If you are conservative, this is just the weapon to boost your arsenal while dispelling any slight fleeting doubts you might have about who is right and who is wrong when it comes to the ongoing political debate. Coulter magnificently and efficiently demolishes any and all lingering hesitation in a style somewhat reminiscent of the voice of Gandalf the White, dispersing the fog of Saruman's enchanting voice with a laugh.

Most conservatives are able to detect the liberal nuances in "objective" media reports, and columnists, but it's always just too subtle to put a finger on. Then along comes Ann, and she's got a net in which she catches each little catch-phrase and platitude until she's got a writhing, wriggling mass of them, painting a foreboding picture for Left-wing reporting.

Stepping back in history (but not too far), Coulter takes us through the historical record that liberals hope like mad no one will point out. Hypocrisy abounds, from leaving a ignoring a philandering statesmen (solely because they happen to agree with them on issues such as abortion) to shoving the lie of "conservative" bias in the media down American citizens' throats.

I found chapter five fascinating in particular. Going back to the 2000 election (you know, the one that liberals can't seem to get over?) Coulter demonstrates the left-wing media's responsibility for the election mess, from calling certain regions for Gore (before the polls closed) to reporting that polls closed (when in fact they hadn't). Suddenly, it all becomes clear; left-wing journalists fouled that up from the beginning.

Then we go back and look at the lie that the public was told about Bush (and the same lie that was attempted to be passed off about Reagan), that he was unintelligent. I must confess even I had fallen prey to the idea that perhaps George W. Bush isn't the most eloquent in the world, based strictly on media reports of foul-ups, misstatements, and verbal slip-ups. Coulter smashes that idea by pointing out documented proof of media celebrities who emphasize Bush, and downsize Gore (who had a fair share of his own slip-ups!)

Finally, Coulter crushes the myth of the "religious right" that is constantly referred to. The problem regarding that is, it is both an enormous bullying lobby, and a weak and feeble organization that has been wiped out, it seems liberals can't decide which.

Newsmax Magazine calls Ann Coulter the "acid-tongued Joan-of-Arc of the Right", and make no mistake about it. Coulter's exhaustive footnotes (thirty-five pages' worth) spell out the sad and sordid tale of liberal deception that has plagued Washington politics for decades. If enough thinking Americans could get this book into their hands, it would spell a sad and sordid fate for the Left too.

Conservatives, wash your minds out with this. Liberals? If you're going to post negative reviews, do us all a favor and read the book first. If you won't, then stick to your hate-filled mouthing-off books by Michael Moore and Al Franken, and leave the intelligent dialogue to us.

Summary: Brains, Beauty and an aserbic Wit
Review: Day after day of NPR or CNN got you down? Sick to death of the "But if it saves one persons life" crowd? Tired of hearing about how good simple American values are just plain out of touch with the "real" world, well then this is the book for you.

If you believe in income redistribution, the nanny state, abortion-on-demand, the Easter Bunny, or the innocence of Bill Clinton chances are you won't like what you read between these covers. If you believe that Charlton Heston is some sort of demented Nazi, that Ronald Reagan was an amiable dolt, or that Kevin Phillips has the real dope on how the Bush family is plotting to take over the world, you'll probably throw this book accross the room before three pages are out.

Coulter combines the grace of ballerina with the all out assault of a seasoned streetfighter to blow away the popular myths purveyed by the left leaning media elites.

Summary: The Truth Comes Out
Review: I find it funny how the liberals always howl when quoted back in their own words. I especially find it funny that Ann is able to show the unbelievable liberal bias in the Publishing industry. All of these 'surprise' best sellers never quite added up to much.

The best part of the book centers on the controversy surrounding former Congresswoman Susan Molinari. Despite the plethora of liberal Democrats dominating newsrooms, it was a crime to hire one lone Republican woman for a Cooking segment on the weekend.

Ann Coulter only exposes the all-out revulsion the left controlled media has for conservatives. It is about time we conservatives rise up to defend ourselves. Bravo! Ann Coulter! We need more conservatives who are willing to gut the left!

Summary: Unbelievably Funny
Review: I wish I could rate this book 10 stars! I can't believe that a person could actually write a book filled with bogus information and expect people to take her seriously. She must have got her facts from an alternate universe.

Summary: Spewing hate - Ozzy Osbourne, without the talent.
Review: Ann Coulter is a sideshow Geek who bites the heads off Liberals as part of her show. She is a fine spokesperson for George Bush's "compassionate conservatism."

Quotes from her book and media:

' 'The swing voters---I like to refer to them as the idiot voters because they don't have set philosophical principles. You're either a liberal or you're a conservative if you have an IQ above a toaster.'-- Beyond the News, Fox News Channel, 6/4/00

' 'I think [women] should be armed but should not [be allowed to] vote...women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend it....it's always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care.'-- Politically Incorrect, 2/26/01

' '...a cruise missile is more important than Head Start.'-- Speech, 11/01, rebroadcast by C-Span in Jan. 2002

' 'In his brief fiery ride across the landscape, Joe McCarthy bought America another thirty years. For this, he sacrificed his life, his reputation, his name. The left cut down a brave man, but not before the American people heard the truth.'-- The Drudge Report, quoting from Coulter's new book, Treason, 6/19/03

' 'When I began swooning for George W. Bush during the Republican primaries, my friends warned me that I was going to have to eat my words. It's now a month into his presidency, and I'm even more doe-eyed about Bush than ever.'-- Column, 2/22/01

' 'We hate them. Americans don't want to make Islamic fanatics love us. We want to make them die. There's nothing like horrendous physical pain to quell anger. Japanese Kamikazes pilots hated us once, too. A couple of well-aimed nuclear weapons got their attention. Now they are gentle little lambs.'-- Column, 9/25/02

' 'We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.'-- Column, 9/13/01

' 'We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors.'-- Speech to Conservative Political Action Conference, January 2002

' 'The only beef Enron employees have with top management is that management did not inform employees of the collapse in time to allow them to get in on the swindle.'-- Column, 1/24/02

' 'My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."-- New York Observer interview, 8/20/02

' 'Then there are the 22 million Americans on food stamps. And of course there are the 39 million greedy geezers collecting Social Security. The greatest generation rewarded itself with a pretty big meal.'-- WorldNetDaily, 12/10/03

' 'God help us if the Democratic Party ever wavers on its three major planks: abortion, gay marriage and banning the Boy Scouts. (Perhaps they could save a step by figuring out how to automatically abort all future Boy Scouts.)'-- WorldNetDaily, 12/10/03

' 'It is simply a fact that Max Cleland was not injured by enemy fire in Vietnam. He was not in combat, he was not...on a reconnaissance mission, and he was not in the battle of Khe Sanh, as many others have implied. He picked up an American grenade on a routine noncombat mission and the grenade exploded.'-- Column, 2/18/04

If you can stand to read the rest of that column, Coulter implies that Max Cleland received his Silver and Bronze Stars for having an accident. She neglects to mention Captain Cleland earned his medals 'by exceptionally valorous action on 4 April 1968 ' during an enemy attack near Khe Sanh.''four days prior to his 'accident'. Coulter states that Max Cleland wasn't even in the battle of Khe Sanh.

This is what Coulter does. She twists, she lies, she inflames and insults. She does not speak for conservatives or any other group of rational human beings. She does, however, speak for "compassionate conservatives"--spewing their hate. But for most Americans, Ann Coulter is a sideshow geek.

Hear the call, 'Come one, come all. Watch the Palomino Pundit in the short mini-skirt bite the head off a real live Liberal'right before your very eyes!" She is Ozzy Osbourne, without the talent. She is a waste of time. Don't waste your money on this mean ranting and raving.

Summary: Horrible, Malicious.
Review: I've in the past donated a lot of books to the Library. However this piece of trash will get donated to the incinerator. This right wing egotist doesn't know the first thing about writing a book. The title of this book should pertain to her and only her. The reason is simple. If you ever saw her on tv or on radio talk shows being interviewed by one-sided hosts, she finds fault with then slanders everything about whatever topic discuss. Senator Joe McCarthy would loved to come up from the grave and give her a swift kick in the A$$.

Summary: Very Substantiated & Accurate Reporting
Review: Ann Coulter carefully portrayed the liberal biasness that I have personally seen in our news media. Ann successfully backed up her claims of biasness with pages of reference citations, which anyone can verify if they wish. Ann Coulter really looked at the facts and wrote a very effective argument that such liberal bias exists. READ IT!!! It will help you develop your own opinion of the news without the media telling you otherwise. After reading this book, you will not see the media the same way again, NOR SHOULD YOU!!!

Summary: Th-Th-Th-That's All Folks!
Review: every time I read or listen to coulter, I hear "the merry-go-round broke down" theme from looney tunes. but, hey, she uses FOOTNOTES! let's be honest, though, at this stage the review page is really just a blog for coulter's manifestos.

the more interesting question, rather than whether this is a well-written book (which it isn't, it simply spews like a rabid dog) is why the paranioa of so many self-styled conservatives runs so deep. obviously coulter's hit a nerve: several reviewers on this site seem to lie awake at night, waiting for al franken or michael moore to bind, gag, and drag them off to a democratic party sabbat. where lots of little unborn and recently-born babies are going to be flayed alive in a demonic ritual designed to prohibit voluntary school prayer and keep george bush (and any future republicans) out of the white house.

when I read some of these reviews, I get these images of CONSEVATIVES-WHO'VE-LEARNED-THE-TRUTH-ABOUT-THE-VAST-LIBERAL-(READ: JEWISH)-MEDIA-CONSPIRACY-AND-WHO-CAPITALIZE-EVERY-WORD-TO-SHOW-YOU-HOW-SERIOUSLY-UNHINGED-THEY-ARE hunkering down in a converted fall-out shelter and surrounded by bags of fertilizer, 30 tins of dinty moore's finest, and lots of things purchased from unregistered dealers at gun shows.

what gives? is the real threat to the average american NPR (which I think is cretinous, but for different reasons) or e.j. dionne? in truth, during the past 2 years the mainstream "liberal" media has done little more than mouth Bush administration claims and parrot unsubstantiated rumor-mongering from the drudge report (e.j. dionne excluded). and yet, many americans seem to feel almost physically threatened by journalists.

from a vantage point in the hopefully near-future, pundits may well be able to explain how the GOP masterfully transformed groups concerned w/ civil liberties, literacy, and the scientific method into the moral equivalent of pedophiles and terrorists (the political kind, not the teachers' union kind). and deflected attention away from the things that actually compromise all our lives: the disappearence of the middle-class, the gutting of environmental protections, dependence on foreign oil, trade deficits, fiscal deficits, the weak dollar.

maybe it's simply the case that coulter and her cadre are the consummate fear-mongers they're made out to be. either way, I would've thought all americans, right and left of center, would become suspicious of such blatant pandering. and would resent coulter's obvious attempt at manipulation.

but of course, that's why coulter is a best-selling author, george bush is in the white house, and I'm just some poor shlub who vents on amazon.com review pages.

Review: If you write a non-fiction book it is customary to deal with facts. Nothing here is substantiated.

Summary: Will Coulter Follow McCarthy to a Sad , Ignoble End?
Review: I was able to read a little bit of Coulter's book and frankly it was so vile that it sickened me. Even if I shared more of Coulter's poltical views, her emotional climate is so toxic I honestly don't know how anybody could expose themselves to it for any length of time. I wonder if Coulter is aware that her idol, Senator Joe McCarthy, died of acute alcoholism, institutionalized, at the relatively young age of 48.
