Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK HAS MEANT MORE TO ME THAN ANY OTHER :) Review: This book has meant more to me than all others. I am 16 years old and yesterday I was in class and my teacher was talking to us about our first reading experiences in life. I instantly thought of this book and my eyes became a little misty. It has been SO long since I thought of it! I think every child should grow up with this book. Every year when you look back on this book you will find a deeper meaning within it. When I was young (3 or 4) I admired the funny illustrations and recited the poem every second. I also thought the ending was happy. But now, as I go over the book 12 years later I realise how sweet it is! I never realised the message of the book. It's a wonderful book, definetly, and I think all parents should bye it for their chilren AND for themselves. If you are a mother I'm sure it will touch very close to your heart. It's incredibly sweet. I love it!
Rating: Summary: Love You Forever Review: I first read this lovely book in 1988 when my 4th daughter was born. The book stayed with us for many years and was read many times. It became a favorite. And the words I'll love you forever, I'll love you for always echoed through our home for many small child years. That daughter grew and she grew and she grew and the book grew old. The book was lost or tossed as many old books are. Now as that daughter prepares to turn 12, I think it is time to share this special book with her again. Then maybe again before she marries and again before she has her own child. This is a book for mothers and children of all ages. Enjoy
Rating: Summary: AFTER ALL THESE YEARS . . . . I FINALLY FOUND IT! Review: Ok parents . . this may sound a little weird, but bear with me. I am 15 years old, a sophomore in high school. Today after school I was talking to one of my friends who I went to elementary school with. Somehow our conversation turned to this book. My friend said something about a book that she used to love when she was little & it went something like this: "I'll love you forever, my baby you'll be." That line sparked my imagination & I too remembered that book. It was from 2nd gr . . our teacher had asked us to draw pictures from the book for mother's day. As soon as I got home, neglecting all of my homework, I went online to search for this book. With a stroke of luck I found it :o) Please buy this book for your children. I hope it will have as positive of an effect on them as it did on me.
Rating: Summary: A Global Message! Review: I've used this book in the classroom in five countries. Parents, children, co-workers, Ministry of Education folks have come to love this story for its absurdity and positive message. Imagine your mother picking you up and rocking you back and forth; imagine picking up your mother! The young learners I work with in ESL situations just love it when I substitute names of class members into the story - truly, a book for the young and young at heart!
Rating: Summary: A very specail read Review: This is a great book. I read some of the reviews that rated the book 1 star. It's one of those - you either love it or hate it kind of books. I am a VERY sentimental parent and dread my child growing up and leaving home, so needless to say, I was moved deeply by this book. I've read it to my daughter many times and continue to feel emotional every time
Rating: Summary: Adults LOVE this book... Review: The story is quite common to children's books--a mother expresses love for her child, and her child loves her back. If you enjoy a good cry, you'll even excuse the author's banal treatment.Yes, adults LOVE this book, but most kids can take it or leave it. My kids have not seemed to care much for it, and I'd rather read them books _they_ enjoy. If you'd like to read your child a book that shows a mother's love in a way children truly appreciate, try "The Runaway Bunny" by Margaret Wise Brown.
Rating: Summary: My son loves this, I find it a bit odd but do appreciate it! Review: My sister warned me not to get this book! She said all kids love to hear it over and over, and I would quickly find it annoying. She was right! My son asks for this book all the time. He loves so many parts of it---especially the 2 year old putting a watch in the toilet and the same boy older being loud and messy. I find some parts of it quite odd, however! The mother in some ways seems a bit over the top---I don't like I would like my mother climbing into my window with a ladder and picking me up when I was asleep! However, I do appreciate the message. You do love your children all through their life. I think it's an important message especially for mothers of sons---as society seems to find it less acceptable to show your love for your older sons than for younger sons or daughters. It's also good to have a children's book that shows aging---both of the mother and the son. So many kid's books are stuck in perpetual childhood. So go ahead and get this---it's worth the possible annoyance!
Rating: Summary: I cry everytime Review: My sister-in- law read this book at my baby shower after my son was born. Everyone there was in tears! She gave me a copy for Christmas and one day I read it two times in my son's room while he was sleeping and cried each time. Then I read it to my husband while he was holding our boy and we both cried! It touches me so because it is not only about being a mother, it is about having a mother and experiencing both kinds of mother love. I think it's more for adults than kids!
Rating: Summary: Love You Forever Review: I gave this book 5 stars because the first time I heard it was last year in my daughter's headstart class, they did a special project for mother's day. When this story was read to us by my daughter's teacher the whole room was in tears, I was able to fight back the tears but, this story just won my heart over. I find this book truly amazing and I would recommend for everyone to read this book to their children, nieces, nephews, or even just for yourself. I guarantee it will bring tears to your eyes and give you a whole new appreciation on parenting. Thank you and hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. ssmith4801@aol.com
Rating: Summary: Loved it Review: I read this to my class at a daycare center and they loved. I liked the book so much I bought it for my two month old son. When I read it to him he smiled and liked hearing the song sang. Now when he cries I will sing the song to him and it quiets him down. It is a great book to show a parents love no matter what age the child is. I definitely reccomend it!
